Beschreibung
This mod adds 28 new deities to the game, raising the total number to 63. Each god has custom buildings and effects inspired by their attributes. The mod also tweaks the cult centre regions and discovery realms of the vanilla gods, so that they are more historically faithful.

This is a save-game and startpos-compatible standalone mod. Cult centre temples have been left out of the mod because they require startpos-editing. If you would like to have access to this feature, subscribe to the sister mod Expanded Family Trees and load this mod on top of it.

Special Sea Peoples' deity
The mod adds a new deity to the Sea Peoples' pantheon. While this god and its equivalents in other cultures existed historically, they were not actively worshipped. For this reason, I have left this god as an optional deity, which can be enabled/disabled in the campaign customization settings when creating a new campaign. Unlike other Sea Peoples' deities, this god can be worshipped by any faction. However, you will have to wait until a certain event occurs to discover him.

Compatibility
This mod is save-game and startpos-compatible. It should be compatible with most mods that do not edit the following scripts: phar_local_deities.lua, phar_modular_difficulty_config.lua and frontend_prelude.lua scripts.

Bibliotheca Historica
This mod is part of the Bibliotheca Historica: Gods, Kings and Heroes collection. I strongly recommend to use this mod together with Expanded Family Trees mod, which adds more than 110 characters to 23 different factions.

Translations

Special thanks
I would like to thank Creative Assembly Sofia for developing Total War Saga: Troy and Total War: Pharaoh, they are one of my favourite games in the franchise. I would also like to thank Jeff Dahl[en.wikipedia.org] and Eternal Space[commons.wikimedia.org] for their god portraits.

If you want to contribute anything to this mod in any way, feel free to contact me through Steam or Discord (Amulet of Kings#1284). I would especially be interested in having custom 2D portraits of the gods that match the vanilla style.

Sure but you still have to unlock them with those other factions. Both Babylon and Assyria dont have on handed clubs unit and the native units in the area dont really use one handed clubs either. Gods should make sense to worship by their own people

Actually i just looked though all the faction units and on handed club units are all low teir there seem to be no mid or high teir ones

Good point, but gods can be worshipped by all factions, so their effects should be available to everyone

Im not familiar enough with all the rosters but i see there is a Mesopotamian God buff one handed club units but i dont see i only see one among the native and faction assyrians units. I think gods should buff up units accesable by the cultures that they are part off

Ah ok he is an amagimation of the destructive forces of all the cultures. all right

@spacemarx Unfortunately I'm not a 2D artist, this is the best I could do. I will update the mod if I meet anyone willing to create custom portraits.

@Doomed World He does not only represent Typhon, he is meant to be a serpent-like antagonistic figure for all ingame cultures. As his discovery event description says, he represents Apep (Apophis), Lotan (Leviathan), Tiamat, etc. Apep was known as the "Enemy of Ra" and also "the Lord of Chaos" to the Egyptians, this is why I chose this epithet for him. "Father of Monsters" does not capture the essence of his other aspects so well in my opinion.

Could you change Typhon's title to "Father of Monsters" Cause Lord of chaos doesn't make sense given that Chaos is an entity in Greek Mythology

Great work, mate!

Seemed odd to me that the complete pantheons weren't in Vanilla.

One friendly bit of feedback is that I think the colours are a little too saturated, and the images are a bit sharp overall. They're noticeably out of place from the other gods. I'm not sure how hard it would be to make the artwork match the vanilla style, but that's where I would go with it next.

Thanks again!

@kappa I have added the option to worship him in tribal outposts, I didn't know that Sea Peoples had this special building.

@Amulet of Kings so I know you said Sea Peoples aren't your cup of tea, but I can't pray to that mysterious deity at a tribal outpost. Can you please fix this so I can play Iolaos as a Chaos Lord in this game while the mods for Total war warhammer updates.

I would recommend adding a few Minoan-themed deities for the Sea Peoples, since the Peleset and possibly the Tjekker came from Crete. Ariadne is a solid choice, as is Potnia, who is even referenced in one of the game’s loading texts.
