First we look at what a season is:


A season is a phased timing of the game with scenario features dictating difficulty, pvp/pve status, the type of deviants you can capture and the length of the phases. Some scenarios are different than normal but for the most part seasons offer 6 phases with the first 5 being a week each and the 6th phase being 4 weeks long.


During the last phase you can spend energy links to buy starcrom chests.

The scenario is not the same thing as a season even if we frequently interchange the terms.










A scenario lasts for the season and is if it is hard or normal, pve or pvp and what objectives that are unique to that season might be.

Now onto the meat an potatoes of what we keep and what we lose:

Kept After the Wipe and Start into the New Scenario
Characters and Cosmetics: Names, body sizes, fashion cosmetics, character customization data, emojis, actions, namecards, titles.
Material: Starcharms, Mitsuko’s Marks, Stellar Planulas, Sproutlets, Lightforge Ingots, Lightforge Relics, Cosmetic Tokens, Colorful Badges, Battle Pass Tokens (Silver Keys, Battle Pass EXP, etc.).
Important In-Game Progress Content: Gear Blueprints (and their ratings), Blueprint Fragments, Weapon Accessories, Mods (including Mod Components), Food Recipes.
Furniture Formulas and Building House Blueprints: Learned Furniture Formulas (excluding those unlocked via Memetics), House Blueprints, Finished furniture items.
Seasonal Items: Season Honor Shield Patterns, Cultivation Essence, etc.
Friends: Friends and group chats.
Task Completion Progress: Main story tasks and side story tasks completed in the scenario.
Event Progress and Materials: Event progress and materials (check in the event screen).
Weapons and Armor: Weapons and armor (retained in your Eternaland Depot).
Regular Resources: Materials, Medicine, Bullets (retained in your Eternaland Depot).
Deviations: Deviations (retained in your Eternaland Depot).
Calibration Blueprints: Calibration Blueprints (convert to Astral Sand and use it to build on Eternaland or buy supplies).
Energy Links: Energy Links (convert to Astral Sand and use it to build on Eternaland or buy supplies).

Not Carried Over After the Wipe and Start into the New Scenario
Map Exploration Progress: Map exploration progress.
Character Level EXP: Character level EXP.
Scenario Core Gameplay Items: Scenario core gameplay items (such as Chaotic Cortices and Staroids).
Special Specialization Items Crafted Using Memetic Specialization: Special specialization items crafted using Memetic Specialization.

Seeing that you lose anything you work on can be disheartening however a lot of the things to lost are gained back really easily because of your previous progress. Leveling is made easier by using blueprints that you previously already unlocked and might have even enhanced (we will cover enhancements in a bit). This makes gaining back memetics specializations far easier too because you can zip right through the quests

You can rebuild your house as soon as you collect the materials by essentially printing it from the blueprint.


This can be made easier by saving a couple electric drills and chainsaws as the solar drill will not transfer since that is from a memetic specialization. Though if you save the materials and get lucky getting the specialization as you level then you might even be able to craft the solar drill in phase 1.

These drills chainsaws and possible material and even gear or weapon calibrations may be stored in your backpack. Though bear in mind gear has level requirements. So you may have to level to use armor or weapons.


There is a cost to move things from your spacetime backpack but the cost is reasonable if you are not trying to grab every single material. It is more than enough to grab tools a weapon or two and your deviants with some starter materials.



The currency to move your items over is finite but it is not a cash shop item. You move these items out of your backpack with a currency you get free upon the completion of a scenario. Above the green confirm button you can see I spent all of my points to transfer items. I was happy with my choices though.

There are multiple benefits to a server wipe. One is trying a new scenario on a different difficulty or changing modes from pve or pvp. Regardless of what changes to the mode you chose you can also change the difficulty increasing xp and rewards for starcrom.

Changing from pve or pvp also allows you to catch deviants that were not available in the previous season you played,

Quests are also streamlined by adding a simplified version of the quests that skips a lot of the legwork you originally had to do while giving you the rewards.

Having a wipe and starting on a new server could help you to find more friends or leave a server you just were not really feeling. You can even coordinate with friends so you can all change to the new server.

However my favorite reason to start fresh is the blueprints in mystical crates are refreshed allowing you to collect even more blueprints so you can enhance your gear.
When you go back to strongholds you can recollect all the blueprints but specifically the ones of the same gear sub type so you can take your weapon from 1 star all the way up to 5 stars once you gain enough xp from enchaining gear.

As seen in the picture below I was able to star up my Icy Rain
This is done by essentially feeding it blueprint fragments you collect from around the world and by using the wish machine to get fragments.

While it is easy to feel defeated by the term wipe I highly encourage everyone to play through your first season and give the second season a try. You will know very early into the second season if it is for you. As you will rapidly reap the benefits and feel the flow of the game much smoother on your second time around.
