Intro
In this guide I will list tips, and also tricks, that I do know and remember from playing the OG version. I might not cover new things added by this remaster, but that will change after I will play this for longer time. However, whatever I will list here will apply to this version.
Tips and Tricks
  • Try making a lot of photos during prologue (flying in helicpoter). You can get a lot of PP for that;
  • Take photos of people you'll meet after the prologue, youll get an achievement;
  • When you're in the Entrance Plaza, take photo of the barricade. There's a lot of zombies, so not only you will get thousands of PP, but also an achievement as well. I got over 4k PP just for one pic!;
  • There is a shotgun in Entrance Plaza, on the ground after zombies swarm in towards you and other survivors (the moment when doors are being open);
  • There are healing items in your safe house (Security office) - chocolate milk and apple.
  • Always have healing items with you
  • Healing items heal different amount of cubes (health);
  • Don't give strong healing items to the survivors if they lost only a little bit of health; give them weaker ones, like chips, or an apple
  • You can recharge your camera in camera shop near entrance to the warehouse
  • There is hidden submachine gun above doors to the warehouse. Go towards stairs leading to the first floor, to the Colombian Roastmasters and jump towards blue awning, and then follow it. Submachine will be at the end of it.
  • There is submachine gun hidden in Food Court. It's on the sign with big chef, near plates placed on the wall.
  • You can create Nectar in Colombian Roastmasters cafe by combining two Orange juices
  • There is hidden Katana on the awning below Colombian Roastmasters. Just go there, and jump out near juice shelf.
  • Visit libraries to pick up books. They can boost items, but also Frank himself!
  • Books can improve durabilites of weapons and they can stack!
  • Save often!
  • Use markers while guiding survivors. They will go towards it, leaving you alone, and you will be able to clean a path for them, or just protect them
  • In this remaster you can improve survivors's mood by giving them weapons they like and by healing them.
  • In the shop where Burt and Aaron are, there is a magazine that can boost Frank's durability after changing outfit.
  • Destroy mannequin by throwing it at the wall and pick up its torso. Believe it or not, but it's a strong weapon.
  • There is a side entrance to the Warehouse from the roof. Go to the left, where Natalie, Jeff's wife, was standing.
  • Sledgehammer is a good weapon and you can find it in the Warehouse
  • Save as many survivors as you can - you can ear a lot of PP for that and improve Frank faster!
  • Save before doing any mission. It's very easy to mess up.
  • There are bosses in one area who can respawn every day. Watch out! ---> (this one is about bosses you will encounter early on; if you don't want to be spoiled, avoid it)
  • Boss's weapons WILL respawn every time, so don't worry about them breaking. Just go to the area where you fought them.
  • Everything can be a weapon, so don't be afraid to pick something up and use it. You can either kill or damage a zombie and save durability of your weapon.
  • Use Knee Drop ability to jump down without losing health
  • In Colombian Roastmasters you also have unlimited amount of pies, that you can combine in blender for a strong drink.
  • Surprisingly, guitars are great weapons, tool boxes too!
  • Take survivors with you when you're travelling; they can mark interesting stuff on your map. Not always though.
  • In the park, in a pond, you can find a King Salmon. I think you can also find it in a supermarket.
  • You can restart a game with your current level if you're struggling with a case or a psychopath, to level up and become stronger.
  • You can hold hands of two survivors at the same time!
  • You can use vehicle, like motorcycle in the entire mall and not just in North Plaza! To do that, drive towards doors (transition to the other side of the mall) and interact with the door. After that, you and your bike will be able to drive in a different part of the mall!
