You should look for Artyom's suit upgrades to significantly enhance your survivability and combat effectiveness in the harsh environments of Metro. These upgrades provide crucial benefits such as increased damage resistance, extended filter duration, and improved resource management, which are essential for overcoming the game's numerous challenges. Additionally, upgrading the suit allows for a more immersive and strategic gameplay experience, enabling players to better navigate and explore the diverse and dangerous world.

There's 4 categories when you can apply the upgrades:


For every category there's 3 applicable items.

For example:Armored glass for gasmask, compass for bracer etc.

There's two chapters where you can find the upgrades across the whole map.

Those chapters are VOLGA and CASPIAN SEA

There's 7 upgrades at Volga chapter and 5 on Caspian sea

As i said before, there's 3 upgrades for every category of suit.

First upgrade for Artyom's helmet/gasmask is:


Chapter: VOLGA, makes filters last for 5min instead of 3min.



Second one:

Chapter: VOLGA, provides player with 2 extra armor points.


Third one:

Chapter: CASPIAN SEA, makes gasmaks more tougher and harder for cracks.

First upgrade for electrical equipment is


Chapter: VOLGA, makes batter last longer.


Second one:

Chapter: CASPIAN SEA, makes light more brighter and wider.


Third one:

Chapter: CASPIAN SEA, makes nightvision more brighter.

First upgrade for Carrier Vest is:


Chapter: VOLGA, increases the limit of throwing weapons from 5 to 10.


Second one:

Chapter: CAPSIAN SEA, increases the limit of medkits and filters


Third one:

Chapter: VOLGA, increases the limit of ammunition Artyom can carry.

First upgrade for Bracer is:


Chapter: VOLGA, helps Artyom to find crafting resources.


Second one:

Chapter: VOLGA, leads Artyom to current mission location.


Third one:

Chapter: CASPIAN SEA, shows enemies that are close to Artyom.

There's 2 spots where you can find the nightvision, first one is on VOLGA chapter in the terminal, after opening the prison cell with 3 villagers in there in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, villager named "Simon" gives artyom key to "sin room" in the terminal.


Second spot is on CASPIAN SEA chapter, in room next to archives when Artyom have to collect the maps.
