Welcome back to Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, the third instalment in the Splinter Cell Franchise. It is a stealth game that focus on in the interplay of light and shadow and aims to be a game where the main character, Sam Fisher, leaves as many souls untouched, and as little evidence behind as possible. Even though the game offers an avenue for aggressive assault, this playthrough will be conducted solely with a stealthy approach with native languages set to on.

After deleting the data that the mercenaries had obtained from Morgenholt, the NSA is left with more questions than answers. For one, Morgenholt could not be rescued. Further, Lacerda has also left the scene and is travelling aboard the Maria Narcissa, currently in the Pacific Ocean.

Hence, the Third Echclon's next step is obvious: send Sam Fisher aboard the Maria Narcissa. His objectives are simple: eliminate Hugo Lacerda to ensure that the information gained by interrogating Bruce Morgenholt cannot be spread any further and that nobody can utilise the Masse Kernels for global information warfare attacks again. Furthermore, he is to also figure out who contracted Lacerda to kidnap and torture information out of Morgenholt so that the 3E can eliminate the root cause of it all.

A Bill of Lading on the side of Lacerda's box was sufficient to link him to some offshore Panamanian bankers. They had been funding him with weapons, as is later found out when Sam checks out the shipment records in the ship's offices and sees the shipments marked as sugarcane and coconuts from a Russian man in Malaysia called Stanley Nikariakov. Sam also planted trackers inside the weapons crates to track who Lacerda has been paying in arms so that the NSA has the jump on terrorists as they arise. Sam finally made it to Lacerda and grabbed and interrogated him to no result. He knew nothing of value and died a small man in a small ship sailing aboard a vast ocean.

Fisher finally extracted via boat and operated it to the USS Walsh awaiting nearby.
