FIX bad performance on Steam Deck
By ♐Raptor227™
If you've already reached this guide, consider that you've already overcome the low FPS of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & Secret Hideout on the steam deck, because someone else might just launch the game, see its poor performance and think that's it. there should be. No, it shouldn’t be like this, it can be fixed, and it can be fixed easily, here I will explain to you how to squeeze out of 48 FPS on the lowest settings - 60 FPS on medium (well, or 48 FPS on medium with all the effects of your choice)

What will this give me?
Good question, and a wonderful answer, in short - your FPS will increase ONE AND A HALF TIMES, without sacrificing the picture, but only your 5 minutes.

In more detail, I specifically conducted tests for you with different quality settings with and without fix, for this I had to restart the game about 18 times, comparison on the same location with the same camera angle in the screenshot below:

This is the “second hub location”, when according to the plot we get our own house

The table will also indicate what graphics settings are installed, since there are not very many settings in the game - I divided them into two categories:

In the red square are shadow settings. In the green square - additional effects

First, check out the game’s default FPS table, roughly speaking, downloaded and immediately launched:

Off, Low, Medium, High - Shadows
W - With additional effects, WO - without additional effects

Off
Low
Mid
High
W
48
37
32
25
WO
60
48
40
26

Not very positive results, right? Well, in theory, you can play on the lowest settings or set low-medium shadows, disable all additional effects and limit the Hz, but wait - now look how the game starts to work in exactly the same conditions after the fix:

Off
Low
Mid
High
W
60
56
48
29
WO
60
60
60
35

Quite positive, isn't it? Here you can set medium shadows, leave all effects turned on and play at 45 FPS with a quite beautiful picture, or, if you want, at least all 60 in low shadows and (if you want) disable something in the effects, it’s more pleasant to play with shadows than without them, right? And when everything works smoothly, it’s generally wonderful.

Well, if the table data convinces you, move on to the second section.
What do I need to do?
Very briefly, here it is:

But first, a little more detail: we need to enter “WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d11=n,b" %command%" into the game launch parameters according to the example in the screenshot below:

Second: download the required file and place it in the root folder of the game, I will not give you a link to this file, the automatic Steam verification system will not let me through with a guide containing a link, I will give you a hint: enter "atelier sync fix releases" in google, follow the first link to Github and download the file “atfix.zip”.

Open it with any archiver and you will see the file “d3d11.dll” inside, unpack it into the root folder of the game next to the exe file, as shown in the screenshot below:

That's all! The fix is installed, this game will now run much better on your deck. I hope this guide helps you have more fun with the game!
This screenshot was taken on the preset: Shadows - Medium, with all additional effects and with a fix.
