Intro - Why Jungle Carbine?
Brief Pros / Cons
+ No scope glare
+ Straight bolt (reloading while aiming)
+ 10 bullets in a magazine
+ Reloading with clips (multiples of five bullets)
+ Good rate of fire (for bolt-action rifle)
+ Endless first aid kits (medic's weapon)
- No oneshot to the head over 100 meters
- Low bullet speed (for bolt-action rifle)

These things make the Jungle Carbine objectively the best bolt action rifle in the game. Considering the above disadvantages, this is still a very profitable trade.
Anyway you need to spend some time to learn how to play it effectively.
So let's start with a more detailed guide.
Combat Role, Specializations, Gadgets
1. Jungle Carbine
Jungle Carbine is a Medic class weapon as I mentioned above, so pick this class. Combat role "Field Medic" allows you to significantly increase your movement speed (while aiming too) when you calling out to a downed friendly soldier. I highly recommend using this particular combat role and using its ability.

On Jungle Carbine use x3 (default) scope and pick the following specializations:
  1. Quick Aim
  2. Custom Stock
  3. Lightened Stock
  4. Enhanced grips*
The first 3 branches are required, you can choose the last one based on your preferences (reloading speed or hip fire accuracy), my choice is always Enhanced grips.

2. Sidearm and melee
Take revolver and Commando Machete, this is a great combo that will allow you to kill the enemy with a second hit when your first got an enemy's body. Use the machete only when you are sure that you will not be killed from aside, since the animation for using the machete is quite long. It is often more practical and faster to simply kill the enemy with a second shot.
Commando Machete is the best melee weapon in the game as it is very fast and deals 55 health per hit. It is your only and best melee choice but to get it, you need to complete the "Misaki" assignment, which is not difficult to do. In most of my videos you will notice that I use an axe. This was a mistake and I only found out at the 700th hour of the game that the machete has a much faster strike speed with the same damage.
Revolvers are different.
I prefer the Model 27 revolver, as it has similar bullet speed and fire rate to the Jungle Carbine, and a pretty good oneshot=headshot range for a sidearm (up to 25m). It's a bit of a learning curve due to the slow rate of fire and the iron sight, but the benefits are obvious if you don't miss.
But you can also have success with the Mk 6 Revolver since the rate of fire allows you to kill an enemy much faster at close range if you miss with the sidearm's first shot. This can be useful, since in a classic combo (Jungle's shot > switch to sidearm > shot = frag) if you miss the shot with the Model 27, you can die very quickly, but keep in mind that it has a serious damage drop at range.
Probably the best choice to start with would be the Mk 6 Revolver, later on when you master the Jungle Carbine you can switch to the Model 27.
You can compare the differences here:

3. Gadgets
Bandages are the most practical medic's gadget, must have.
Use smoke as grenades and gadgets, this allows you to have 4 smoke grenades after spawn and will save your life quite often. In addition to saving your life, it will also allow you to save others. Don't forget to grab ammo at objectives to replenish your smoke. The total you can have is 5.
Remember that smoke grenades do not explode when they hit water and there is a very small chance that the enemy will hit the grenade with a bullet in flight, after which it will also not explode.
A little meta tip. Smoke grenades have the ability to remove the spotting effect, as well as hide you from spotting flyers. In the first case, you just need to go into the smoke and the spotting effect will be completely removed even after you leave the smoke-cloud. In the second case, the smoke hides you while you are in it or until the flyer is destroyed. Also, since Buttfield 5 has many bugs, sometimes you can go into the smoke and the spotting effect will not be removed. My investigation led to the fact that most likely this is a bug in your interface and the enemy does not see you as a spotted enemy, but this is not certain and has not been confirmed. In most cases, it works as it should, but be aware of the bug.

I highly recommend using this particular set of weapons, combat role and gadgets. The selection of precisely this loadout allows you to perform the usual role of a medic and is perfect for both playing with friends as a squad and for solo gaming.

Jungle Carbine is a skill-based gun. In order to quickly improve your skill, throw yourself at the most eventful objectives and put some time in it. You need to spend some time to master your skill to the level of your reflexes, like in the videos. Also, for quick improvement, it is useful to play on small maps that provoke a lot of fights and the use of aim. It's probably also useful to play other gamemodes, but I only play Conquest. Feel free to experiment.

Keep in mind that while this style is very enjoyable to play, it is also probably the most difficult playstyle. You will die a lot during the learning phase and will need to put in a lot more effort to kill than with automatic and semi-automatic weapons.

There are no special tips for learning how to kill with QuickScope and Flicks as you see on my GIF here, you will just learn to do something like that on your own over time. The gif is not sped up.
Some settings, Some advice
You can selectively or completely copy my settings attached below in the screenshots.
I will explain the most important ones.

1. For the highest level of gaming you need a minimum of 100+ FPS, a 100+ Hz monitor and a good mouse (bad mouse will NOT work smoothly with high FPS) because the FPS difference is visible much more when you play with a bolt rifle. If you have a 60 Hz monitor, you can also be successful, but a fairly large percentage of your effectiveness depends on your devices.

2. Now your goal is to get as much FPS as possible. Fortunately, Battlefield 5 provides a wide range of settings to allow you to do this. You can also choose an individual balance between quality and FPS, but for me FPS is priority number 1. Also, your visibility will increase significantly if you use minimal settings and effects disabled.
Important! Keep "Mesh quality" at Ultra because this is the enemy's visibility.
Make sure that Future Frame Rendering is ON but if you're getting enough FPS while it's OFF then it's better to keep if OFF.
Also keep in mind that when you aim through a scope, the FPS becomes noticeably lower, since the game loads distant objects in more detail, so if you want to get the ideal number of frames for you, focus on the value that is when aiming.
Also for better visibility you can add ~10% to the default brightness since the game is slightly dark.

3. Note that I'm using pretty low custom FOV (70) because it's quite convenient for this playstyle. However, the higher the FOV, the less recoil in aiming (I don't know why it works like that here, a battlefield moment I guess), so you might want to choose a custom value. Also the higher FOV = the lower FPS.

4. When you select Custom Color Settings as "Custom", you can edit the HUD's color. I recommend making the Enemy Color more contrasting than default. This will significantly increase the visibility of enemy's elements such as icons, flyers/artillery.

5. You absolutely must go to the controls settings > advanced and turn the Uniform Soldier Aiming ON. Also I recommend to turn off mouse acceleration in Windows. Navigate to Start > Settings > Devices > Mouse. Choose Additional mouse options > Pointer Options > and uncheck Enhance pointer precision. These things will uniform aiming for all weapons so your muscle memory will train as well and your aim will become much better.
Adjust any mouse sensitivity that is comfortable for you. My in-game sensitivity is 20% and 800 DPI of the mouse itself, but the perception varies depending on the resolution. These settings will likely feel different if you don't have a 1440p monitor.

6. You can set the rest of the settings as you wish. There is also the lean to side while aiming feature in the game. I do not use it often, but sometimes this is convenient to show only your head from a corner. I set it on F1 and F2 buttons. You can find it in the keys settings.

*Optional Meta tip. You can adjust the resolution to a 4:3 stretched ratio, which is often used in Counter-Strike for easier headshots. I don't use this method because I make videos and want them to look natural, but I thought I'd mention it for those who want to improve their score, even if it radically affects the game's appearance. You can find guides online on how to do this.

You can selectively or completely copy my settings:

Be aware of bugs
Battlefield 5 has a lot of bugs and this build can (and definitely will) sometimes have problems. I will briefly tell you about the bugs so that you know that this happens not only to you.

1. Sometimes the speed of Jungle Carbine's shots while aiming can be a little slower for no reason, and after you get used to the weapon, you will be able to notice this unpleasant difference. This is most noticeable when you spam shots while holding down the aim button. Swap your weapon for a pistol and back again to fix it.

2. At critical moments you may are simply not able to shoot, revive and use or give away a first aid kit and your crosshair becomes a dot. This sometimes happens because you use and give away first aid kits very quickly. This goes away after a few seconds and unfortunately there is no way to speed it up. I still have no idea how EA didn't fix this bug 6 years after release, it's often fatal.

3. Occasionally, endless reloading occurs. Usually fixed by swapping weapons to sidearm and back.

4. You might experience your graphics settings being reset. This issue occurred several times for both my teammate and me. If you notice that your FPS is lower than usual, be sure to check your settings. And again make sure your Future Frame Rendering is ON, this thing increasing FPS significantly.

These bugs were investigated and tested by me and my friend MjDonut.
Maps, Outro
The best maps for the playstyle in the Conquest game mode:
    Strategic Conquest:
  • Solomon Islands
  • Twisted Steel
  • Provence
  • Aerodrome
    Tactical Conquest:
  • Arras
  • Al Marj Encampment
  • Operation Underground
  • Rotterdam
  • Devastation
  • Fjell 652
  • Marita
  • Mercury
On maps that are not on the list, it's just boring to play this style.

F.A.Q. (mostly from reddit)
-What mouse do you play with, your DPI & Sens?
  • Mouse: Glorious Model D Wireless Gaming Mouse - 69g.
My in-game sensitivity is 20% and 800 DPI of the mouse itself, but the perception varies depending on the resolution. These settings will likely feel different if you don't have a 1440p monitor.
    -Your monitor?
  • XWU-CBA Huawei, 1440p 165hz
-How do you record your videos?
  • GeForce Experience, Instant Replay, a little editing in Sony Vegas
    -Where do you play?
  • I play on PC, European servers, Conquest only (Tactical & Strategic)
-Is it possible to play with you?
  • Feel free to add me in friends and when I'm active we can play. I have one nickname everywhere Steam/EA/Discord - slwaq
