Your game won't start?
Nothing happens at launch and you've tried everything :
- verify game files
- run as administrator
- enable compatibility mode
- check Windows firewall

Still not working ?

Try changing the launch options

Go to :
Steam > Library > Left for Dead 2 > Properties (right click) > General > Launch options

Save the following options: -novid -console -vulkan

Then, try restarting your game.

I played this in vr and it wouldn't let me launch it afterwards, but this fixed it! thanks

@apostel-13 if you get an error with compatibility mode, you should disable it and try the method described with the launch options

I do get an error when I enable compatibility mode. That normal?

Been having start up issues on l4d2 for a couple months now and this guide helped fix my issues, 10/10
