[SOLVED]100% Fix - Horizon Zero Dawn game crush - Windows 10/11
By Ilonqq
Hello, everyone. I hope you find this guide useful and that it helps you fix your problem after following these steps.

I have spent ages finding and fixing this issue. I could not proceed with one mission because the game kept crashing at a particular time, and I thought I was going crazy. However, a few guides and videos on the internet helped me. So, I decided to create this guide to help others with the same issue, so you don't get as frustrated and annoyed as I did.

Steam settings
You have to run Steam as an Administrator + Windows 8 compatibility mode
Click on Steam shortcut - Properties - Compatibility
Scale 100%
Check your screen resolutions settings. It has to be 100%.

System - Display - Scale - 100%
Gaming mode on or off
System - Settings - Gaming - Game Mode - OFF or ON

For some people, this might be the issue, so try toggling it on and off.
Xbox Game Bar - OFF
System - Settings - Gaming - Game Bar - Turn it Off
Virtual memory settings
Control Panel(windows search tab) - System and Security - System
- Advanced system settings
- Under advanced tab - performance settings
- Advanced tab
- Virtual memory and change the value in the initial size and max size to (your RAM size) then apply and restart your pc.

Btw, choose the disk where you have the game installed.
For me, since I have 32GB of RAM, the number 32768 worked well. It depends on how much RAM you have. For example, use 8192 for 8GB of RAM.

Game priority above Normal
Do not forget to change your game priority.

You need to open the game.
Task Manager - Find Horizon Zero Dawn - Right click - Go to details - Find Horizon Zero Dawn again - Set priority and choose any above Normal - For me High or Realtime worked well.
Game settings - Display
Try changing the display settings in the game to Borderless.
Open the game, go to Settings, then Display, Display mode and select Borderless.
Turn off overclocking in windows 10/11 + power options
Control panel - System and Security - Power options - Choose Balanced

Then click on Change plan settings - Change advanced power settings - Processor power management - Set both minimum and maximum to 99%
That is it. Have fun!
After hours of searching, these steps helped me fix the game crashing. I hope that creating this guide and following these steps wasn't a waste of time for either of us.
Let me know if you have any questions and whether this guide helped you or not.

DO NOT FORGET TO RESTART YOUR PC and..
Have a great day and enjoy playing this wonderful game!

Tried all this and some other tips found online. I can't get it to work. It was going to be my second playtrough. The game just seems to decide to work or not depending on nothing else by chance. Thank you anyway and f*ck this bad port from Sony and the devs for not caring.
