How to obtain the pre-order costumes in-game
By BC
So you pre-ordered Costume Quest 2 on steam, but you have no idea where the promised pre-order exclusive costumes are (in case you don't know, they're the robot, unicorn, eyeball, and pumpkin costumes from the original game). This incredibly short guide will show you how to get them.

Notice: As mentioned, these costumes are only available to those who pre-purchased CQ2 before it was released October 7th, 2014. If you didn't buy this game before then, then there is currently no way to obtain these costumes, so don't bother reading this guide.

1. Get to the swamp area
*Very minor spoilers ahead*

In order to get the costumes, you need to play the game until you reach the swamp area with all the houses. It will take you about 5-10 minutes on average (you'll have access to the area when you use the clown horn to move the gator).

Once you get to there, head all the way south and you should find a path that leads to the west. Follow it.
2. Find Shady and buy the costumes
If you followed the path, you should find a merchant named Shady who sells creepy treat cards. Talk to him and the shop menu will open up. Use the right button (control stick/D) to go to the next menu, and you'll find the pre-order costumes available to purchase for 5 candies each. If you don't have any candy, just battle some enemies around the area. Once you have the right amount (20 for all of them), you can purchase them.

Note: This is the quickest way to get to Shady. You can buy the costumes from him wherever he's at.

3. Enjoy!
Congratulations! You now have the pre-order costumes! They're pretty good in battle and will remind you of the original game.

Hope this guide helps anyone who had no idea how to get them in-game (like me).

So aside of pre-ordering the game there is no way to get these?

Because a group of people don't just say "I have the dlc though" for no reason. Doesn't look like people are coming here to troll the OP anyways so the "Well I don't believe them" attitude doesn't seem logical. Perhaps the reason they're not replying and giving you an explanation is because they didn't subscribe to the thread in the first place and not because they don't want to answer.

"Sometimes if you purchase a game in a bundle it is actually an older version and will give you the content." Reading comprehension is your friend. How someone obtained the DLC without pre ordering is directly related to the guide. You came off like an ass in your previous reply.

Don't start spewing bs just to try to make an argument. You don't have a valid point here, it's not that I don't know how I obtained it, it's that I don't remember, I've been on Steam for almost 3 years, Origin and GoG for longer and then consoles. If you're going to be this ignorant to everyobe who says "I have the dlc" without explaining to you how, then you must really be sad. Nobody owes you an explanation, whether for a guide or whatever the case may be.

It matters for the purposes of this guide. Sometimes if you purchase a game in a bundle it is actually an older version and will give you the content. You made a claim that you just purchased it recently and now say that you don't even know how you obtained the game.

@PlagueofMidgets, I don't think anyone cares if you believe them, the fact remains when we can post screenshots. Why do we have to prove it to some random person such as you?

@L-r | BC I'm not really sure because I have so many and it's been awhile but 90% of my games were gifted to me if that that helps.
