If you are having save games load and crash the game from the main menu try the below possible fix.

For me the game doesn't show a message about compiling shaders on the main menu.

This can lead to an assumption that the game is broken.

To deal with it, load up the main menu and wait for at least 15 to 20 minutes for the shaders to compile.

Check that the CPU fan speed is increased and that Task Manager shows more activity for the CPU.

I've noticed that this shader compilation seems to always reoccur after each GPU driver update.
