That's right, no CS:S, if you don't own the game don't worry! However, CS2's legacy beta branch is required.

Unfortunately, due to the release of CS2, CS GO assets are a bit difficult to get. This does require that you have CS2's "CS GO legacy" branch to be installed, adding an extra 30gb of content. No, I will not be packing anything into this map/addon. Under game library, right click CS2 and select properties. On the left panel of the properties window, select "Betas". Under Beta Participation select csgo_legacy. This will not interfere with your default install of CS2 but will start a download of CS GO. Just in case, I recommend you run CS GO at least once. You can choose which cs you can launch into upon clicking play. Mounting CS GO in Gmod is as easy as any other game. On the main menu of Gmod, goto the lower right of your screen and select the games menu. Simply make sure "Counter-Strike: GO (Legacy Branch) is enabled with its blue box checkmark. I recommend to restart your Gmod. Now the map should load in fine.

This map is unfortunately canceled for a few reasons, here is a somewhat polished up build of this map so it doesn't sit and collect dust. This map is a little bit unoptimized and I recommend at least a somewhat recent lower end dedicated graphics card, ie a gtx 1050 4gb. I don't recommend much older or weaker cards including iGPUs such as Intel HD to run this map. In short, it's a somewhat expensive map because I didn't get to finish optimizing it, because it's a canceled map. This map is also a de_nuke-ified version of my older map "gm_old_labs" with a large outside and warehouse expansion. You might notice that the office/labs area looks like the five nights at freddy's 3 layout. Originally this was just a small project to recreate the fnaf3 layout, but I turned it into more of an original idea to distance myself from fnaf.

Q&A

Q: Does this require Counter-Strike: Source?
A: Like I said at the top of this page, no.

Q: Do I need to opt-in the CS2 legacy branch, or can I just have CS2?
A: No, all of CS2 assets are in completely different formats because of the game now running on Source 2. CS2 Legacy allows you to download all the CS GO Source 1 content that this map requires.

Q: Why cancel this project?
A: Originally this map was going to be a start of me using CS GO assets instead of CS:S lifting the payment requirement for people who didn't own CS:S but could download CS GO for free. In late 2023 Valve officially released a Source 2 replacement for CS GO making obtaining CS GO's content a bit trickier. In short, I don't want to have to repeatedly tell kids in my comments sections on every map that they need to go through the beta branch process to get the content. I've also started work on a large prop/textures pack made by me for all my future addons. I also have a newer HD more accurate warehouse map in the works as of uploading this addon that will not require anything outside of my custom content packs.
