Introduction
If you use emulators, this guide will teach you how to set them up.

Note that AArcade doesn't come with any emulators. It does come with script files that allow it to launch emulators if you have them though.
Getting Started
Before you can start spawning games for an emulator, you need to activate the correct emulator profile. Go into the Collect Rewards screen, click on Emulators, and find the emulator you are trying to use on the list.

If your favorite emulator is not on the list, that means that a script for launching it hasn't been added to Anarchy Arcade yet. You could write the script yourself and use it as an addon, but that's for a different tutorial. For now, let's assume the emulator you want to use does have a profile in the list.

Make sure the emulator you want to spawn games for says "ACTIVATED" next to it, then load up a map.
Spawning a Game
1. Middle click on an empty spot.
2. Click Browse.
3. Choose your game file and spawn it.
4. Tell it to OpenWith the emulator you activated earlier.
6. Try to launch the game and follow the instructions for setting up paths. (READ ITS INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!)

After you setup your emulator's paths, adding other games won't require any additional setup.

When people report problems spawning emulator games, 9 times out of 10 it is because they were trying to spawn the emulator's executable instead of the specific game they wanted. Remember, spawn the GAME and tell it to OpenWith the emulator profile.
Conclusion
If you're an advanced user with scripting experience, you can go into the "Anarchy Arcade/aarcade/apps" folder and create your own emulator scripts for any program you could imagine.

Each .app file in that folder will show up as an OpenWith value when spawning new files for the 1st time.

So I got it to work (before reading this actually) but I have a problem, I opened the emulators in my desktop and customized the controls the way I like, but when I play these games in AA it uses either the default controls for that emulator or whatever defaults it has coded into it. the only thing I can do is press enter (start button) and that is not even what my controls are set to for start, I set them to "=". Is this fixable(note I am using libretro files to play these IN AA, not just opening the emulators windows)

well, i think i passed the idiot test... but after i finish playing an emulator, it says i've only played for 0.0 minutes or something like that in single player... one of the quirks with the autopause function, i guess! :P

It only looks like GMod on the surface because on the surface GMod looks like a blank Source SDK engine.

The most complex custom emulator script I've seen so far involved mounting ISOs through a 3rd program before actually launching the emulator's EXE. Even though it did involve some personal tweaking, it was able to launch and load games correctly.

If emulator runs happily with supplying the path to the game in the command line (xexe.exe "gaem.rom"), then it's a child's play. Use existing script and edit it.

Not sure about PS2, but ePSXe has a "ePSXeCutor" frontend, which can launch games by command line (I think) with selected plugin settings (compatibility fixes and such). Other disc-based consoles might require using virtual drives, but that needs workarounds and tinkering? and such.

I don't know how to script, but I'd really like to see EPSXE and PCSX2 supported. Otherwise, I'd do it myself. Love this game (if it can be considered that) by the way!
