1.
Upon starting a campaign/skirmish level, all you do is rapidly press 1 until you can't make anymore miners.

Once you make as many as you can, move onto 2.
2.
You're done 1.

Now open upgrades and purchase the #3 unit, right under the only upgradeable thing at the top and also upgrade Hull of said #2 unit.

Once you get #3 unlocked, upgrade Weapon.

Repeat hull for #2 and Weapon for #3 until you have started the third upgrade.

Once there's a 2 next to Hull and Weapon (Remember Hull for the #2 unit, Weapon for the #3 unit) then move onto 3.
3.
You're done 2 and will eventually have 3 upgrade, 3 hull for fighter-type or #2 units and 3 weapon-type for artillery-type or #3 units.

Start making units, tapping 2 then 3 when you have the resources and repeat. Make sure not to build too much of one unit, cut it down the middle, 1 of #2, then 1 of #3 and so on.

Once you push to the 3/4 mark, upgrade hull on #2 and weapon on #3.

Repeat unit production and use upgrades where appropriate. They'll help but aren't really needed at all.
Victory + Note
Congratulations, you've now beaten the level. This strategy works for all levels in the campaign.

For a much faster version, start making units when you've started 2 upgrades for hull of the #2 unit and weapon of the #3 unit.

The Suicide bomber storm mission and the "Defend the science vessel" mission requires the faster version, if not a much faster version where you produce #2 units and do upgrades, making sure there are always 2 #2 units in play at any time.

With all this info in mind, you should beat the campaign in about 2 hours.

Note: This strategy takes advantage of the cheap cost of fighters/dragons/bogeys (#2 unit) and their role as a distraction and a tank, with the range and raw power of grenadiers/rocketeers/artillery (#3 unit), allowing them to more easily attack and melt things while taking much less damage.

Note #2: I'm sure if you ignore upgrades, this strategy can be used to bum rush an enemy and let you produce more, but I am unsure of the potential in doing that; most bots always upgrade and if you don't upgrade more or as much as them, you'll end up being behind due to economy upgrades currently doing nothing in the game.
Ending words
Any questions I get will be answered to the best of my ability and will be investigated by yours truly if asked a question i cannot answer.

I also am not sure if this works well on multiplayer or not.

This does work on Hard difficulty, it works best as the exiles versus the Alliance and a faster game needs the close game mode.

This strategy really gets eviscerated by Banes, so Hard Cyborgs will kinda eat you alive, depending on how many they use.

Good luck!

PS. I may make a video describing this more easily if needed if I f-cked up in doing so somehow

A note that this works on hard skirmish mode, netting you 5+ gear points in about 5 minutes.

This is exactly what I do, too. The game punishes you for attempting to do anything else. Want the most powerful unit? Then you will lose to someone who just does this.
