Facing the precipice of technological stagnation, the Jolly Chancerloship found itself in dire need of fresh ideas to trim expenses associated with repairing ships afflicted by cannonball strikes. One rather eloquent economic advisor remarked, "These bothersome spherical projectiles both pierce our vessels and puncture our finances."

Their quest for a solution came to a close when a renowned naval scientist within the Chancellorship presented an innovative proposal: "Why not construct our ships from the same materials used in crafting cannonballs?" This led to the creation of the Desolé Class of ships, but it also brought forth a new predicament. While these vessels did boast formidable firepower, they couldn't outpace a drifting piece of timber. The ability of their cannonballs to bounce upon impact left ship captains brimming with a sense of unwarranted confidence and unmatched arrogance (pun not intended).
