Strategy/tip:
Choose your starting city with the highest number of industries/depots to ensure a large pool of jobs. The more industries/depots per city, the more return trips your drivers can make. This will reduce the charges for returning home empty.

Strategy/tip:
Hired drivers do not need large engines or transmissions to make their deliveries, A 4x2 tractor with a basic engine and transmission is enough (Mod trucks are perfect for this). Train new drivers in HAZMAT first so they can take the wide array of regional jobs before they take long hauls. They will level up at a faster rate after HAZMAT is completed, choose "Balanced" in the drop down menu Within the Driver Manager Menu.

Strategy/tip:
Connecting a trailer to your truck limits the potential jobs available to you and your hired drivers. Set your purchased trailers to Private in the Trailer Manager Menu to decrease your hired drivers to return empty, costing you money.

Strategy/tip:
If you want to "regional haul" meaning drive a specific route use the "External Contracts" or "External Market." If you drive many short regional trips will it help you with achievements and still pay ok after you buy your first truck.

Don't forget to Check your World of Trucks for those achievements and to vote, like and comment on images taken by other players showing you the best parts of the game. You can even customize your license plate. Its worth your time to look at it for just that.
