Description
the divisions have to be recreated !ONCE! for every single new mod. they are saved separate and you can switch to your vanilla or other mods safely back without losing any of them

if you want to play mostly army general with mods, you have to know, that every single update (vanilla ones too) will break your savefiles! (except skirmish saves etc!!!) you can get around it if you make a backup from the mod folder every time you start a army general game and copy those files back when a mod update arrives:

C:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\919640\1913298591

for additonal Army General gameplay changes, you have to use my Redux, Redux Extreme or Redux Overkill Mod Versions!!!



it`s a gameplay mod with some minor realism tweaks and not a 100% accurate realism mod

what this mod changes so far (not all changes are listed):



- same as my main mod, but wrecks, crater & dead bodies persist until the end of the game now (WARNING: this MAY cause DESYNCS in MP/COOP battles or/and cause worser performance if your pc is not good enough especialy in bigger battles)
- deck rework (includes all DLC divisions too) & 70 deck activationpoints (its recommended to use selfmade decks, because the vanilla premade decks are not optimized with the new deck rules)
- vanilla, reworked & additional division economics
- Phase B starts after 15 min & Phase C after 30 min
- greatly extended duration for breakthrough & conquest
- speed for vehicle/tanks resembles more RL values (much slower gameplay)
- supply units have +100% more capacity & have a +50% availbility buff, infantry can be reinforced
- higher artillery dispersion (+25% more dispersion) & longer radio spotter range (2km)
- gamespeed changes: slow: 0.5, normal: 0.75, fast: 1.0 & very fast: 3.0 (vanilla: 0.33, 1.0, 2.0 & 3.0) all games (even mp/coop) will start on 1.0 gamespeed, which is now on the fast button!
- aircrafts have a higher evasive buff
- infantry gets a 15%/25%/35% damage resistance buff for each veteran level
- buildings have more hp & infantry is better covered
- glow for units in buildings or behind cover is deactivated
- longer duration for fire & smoke
- reworked veteran levels
- ace units have 50% more HP
- 85mm-94mm cannons have higher AP damage values
(88-94mm guns can now kill any medium tank with one succesful penetration hit (vanilla: they needed 2 hits))

Some AI & gameplay facts:

implemented as a feature from devs, to be closer to how a human would react in a online match or even a real battle, it targets the position of your !firing! artillery even if it has no sight contact or recon unit near (moving those units a bit away after firing is recommended). the ai has a remembrance! if it spots units only for !one second!, it will remember their exact last seen position for several minutes up to an hour. if it has no actionspoints left for an artillery or airstrike in that moment, the attack can follow several minutes later even! the ai is capable to fire on positions, it believes you have units stationed! i have sometimes watched the ai attacking positions on my territory, where a good position was for my artillery/pak/aaa, but there havent ever been any of my units during the battle. most underestimate the stealth abillity of infantry recon units too. without a counter recon unit to spot them, normal units have to be sometimes 100-50m close to spot them. recon units dont effect the frontline system and they can sneak past your lines. recon units on hills/high buildings (like churches) can spot units further away and over close forests. all those factors lead most to the misunderstanding the AI is omnipotent. last but not least: the ai knows, how important support trucks are and prioritize them above everything else. supply units are very fragile and mostly explode during supplying other units by arty dispersion as a collateral damage

hm, that is indeed to low for this modversion, but still higher than vanilla settings. the vanilla settings are: 50min for wrecks and crater and 10 sec for dead bodies. did you already try the new mod version? i dont know if i have the time for testing the next days. it could take some days to get it fixed. thanks for your help and support

Antronix thanks for reporting! there is always a chance after an update, that some files changed wrong or revert back to vanilla values and since i cant play and check every modversions, they may slip unnoticed under the radar till someone reports them to me. how long exactly does it take for them to vanish for you? the current timer is set to 10 hrs for them all, which should be long enough to end even a bigger battle, but i could be wrong. the file seems to have some false values set. i have corrected them and there will be a new upload in some minutes. let me know how it works after it

Well I don't know what to think: I played the whole campaign again with a custom mod I made to reinforce infantry (Eh, I like saving Private Ivan, or Hans... or was it Ryan?) and it went to the end without a glitch with my saves.
Maybe it could be because my Internet connection is currently very unstable and it doesn't work well with the saves with your mod?
I think I'll try another mod of yours next campaign, i.e. without the 'forever' option, and see how it goes. It's not a performance issue anyway, SD2 runs at 60 fps at all times on my gear.

hey BBFred ! that should be a general vanilla bug. in this mod versions i havent made any changes for AG at all and any other of my mod changes dont interfere with save games. it maybe a overall bug with the mod tools and if it is we can only hope eugen will fix it some day. you should try it with vanila or a other mod(version) and see if it still happens. otherwise i cant really help

Hi Shatras, I ran into a weird bug since last update. I'm running v.105195, checked file integrity (OK), and have only your mod activated:
I am in the Berezina campaign (Russian side), turn 2, and started a battle. During the battle, if I make a save, it ends up in the Skirmish category and is marked as 'invalid', instead of saving in 'Army general'. At the same time, if I try to save while I'm in campaign mode, it saves OK. Could it be because of your mod, or a general SD2 bug?

Kaguya no Akatsuki i am sorry, but i dont give away my mod files. i put alot of work into it and otherwise they are too many different files in many different folders and i have really no time to explain every path etc. as far as i know, there is no real editor for the ndfbin, but i might be wrong

I want to merge your mod and “West Wall” .But unfortunately,I need to merge many .ndfbin file(like “AllUnit.ndfbin” and "Specific.ndfbin" ) to get your mod's change,but merge them will lost “West Wall” new divisions and units.
Unable to view the .ndfbin file means unable to complete the merge, which is currently the issue I am facing...
Is there a way to view the .ndfbin file? Or can you transfer the non generated files of your mod to me?
I just use it in offline game or play with my friend, wouldn't upload in workshop,or i can transfer the merge file to you to upload.
