World's Greatest Dad: An In Depth Guide on Haruka's Trust
By kirbo
Haruka's Trust in Yakuza 3 is a completely optional mode/questline, whereas in the previous chronological games there was some achievement or part of one tied to them, in this one they are skippable if you wish so. As such, I see most people will completely ignore this aspect. I however, strove to complete everything in this game, which included completing Haruka's Requests. Noticing a lack of focused guides on some of the objectives for this ordeal, after having achieved it myself, I decided to share my tips on obtaining EX Rank for Haruka's Trust.

Introduction
This guide is aimed to be a resource for anyone hoping to do all of the Haruka's Trust tasks on Yakuza 3 Remastered. Should also apply to the original release. There are a few resources out there the detail the general information, but nothing too focused or that specifically gave help for some of the hardest things you need to achieve, so I decided to write it myself after having completed the requests on my own and by locating the few guidances I found out there for specific things.

The aim is to make a centralized guide were you can find any and all the details about this "side quest line".
NOTE: What I will detail here will serve for the completion of Haruka's Trust AND Haruka's Trust ONLY. If you're aiming to achieve this you are probably aiming for completion in other areas of the game as well (like all achievements or the Completion List, for example). If that is the case feel free to cross reference any requirements needed for those things as well as whatever I'll detail here, so hopefully you can do similar objectives at once. But I'll personally not be referring to other game requirements while I describe some objectives in this guide, for the most part. Just so you can keep that in mind!

ADDITIONALLY, I've already made a YouTube video about this topic where I go more in depth as I explain things, whereas on this guide I'm trying to provide a more concise version. Still, the video has audio-visual explanations for some stuff so feel free to check it out if you want, I'll link it on a section at the end.
How does Haruka's Trust work in Y3?
Unlike games like Kiwami 1 and 2, where you could take Haruka out on the cities and be able to talk to her at any moment, to hear what she wanted to do, in this game the system works a bit different.
You begin at Rank F of her trust meter, and certain specific activities will be enabled for you to fulfill, you'll need to walk to the places or establishments that are currently unlocked, and wait for her at the door, once she has a speech bubble on her head, by heading inside you'll be able to fulfill the request she has. As you complete more requests, your ranking will go up and you'll unlock more activities to do. You'll also get some sort of gift or reward from Haruka every time you rank up.

That is the gist of it. Actually executing the tasks... is where it can get complicated at times, but I'll try my best to provide some strategies for the especially harder tasks that she wants her Uncle Kaz to do for her.

In the following sections I'll be categorizing the types of tasks you need to perform, from how easy to hard, or exceedingly difficult they can be. Fear not as I have tips to conquer most of the things you need to do. I suggest you read through what you need to do first so you can be prepared for all that's to come, especially the last tasks. If you want to see the list of all the tasks in ranking order, you can check them on this GameFAQs page[gamefaqs.gamespot.com]. Most places will have several tasks to do on them, and the lowest ranking one will always be requested first, assuming your rank is high enough to have access to complete both.

To end this section, these are the rewards you get every time you rank up on her trust meter:
  • E: Haruka's Candy
  • D: Haruka's Chocolate
  • C: Haruka's Amulet
  • B: Red Jewel
  • A: Haruka's First-Aid Kit
  • S: Haruka's Bento
  • SS: Haruka will sometimes call the dice on Cho-han if you take her with you. (it doesn't actually guarantee it'll win)
  • SSS: Haruka's Necklace
  • EX: Morning Glory Scarf
They aren't necessarily useful, but they're unique keepsakes from her.
Easy Tasks - Buying Items
The first type of tasks are the very simple ones of showing up to some store and buying something for Haruka. They're mostly inexpensive items, so don't worry about breaking bank. You WILL need a bunch of money at the end, but these requests will barely set you back. I've organized these in the list bellow.

Normal Tasks - Minigames (Kamurocho)
I'm naming these "normal tasks" even though some of them are still pretty easy, they're a variety of different minigame activities. Some of these have a HARDER counterpart which I will detail in depth strategies in the sections bellow, but overall I consider the ones listed here to be very simple.

UFO Catcher
On the Theater Square Club SEGA, catch the Kitty Cat (Calico) (Rank F) and the Big Piyo Chan (Rank A). You can see them pictured bellow:

The setup needed for each of these should appear when you go for them. I don't believe the cat is particularly hard. For the Piyo Chan, he can be a bit more annoying since he is so big, you can try to get him by the leg as shown in the pic, or if you don't manage to get that, I also have gotten it on the head part by grabbing some of its hair with the claw.
You can keep trying in the machine as long as you don't back out, if you do her request will be cancelled and even if you end up catching them afterwards, it will not count, so keep at it even if it takes different turns.

Bowling VS Haruka
Defeat Haruka in a 10 frame game, this happens twice, in Ranks E and A.

She tends to score around 100-120 points, so you need to do decently good. Either way for the last couple of requests you need almost perfection in bowling, so check that section bellow to learn how to dominate in this minigame.

Darts in Bantam
For the Darts requests you need to go to Bantam. The first one is in Rank D, get 200 points in a Count Up game. The second is in Rank A, get a low ton in one of your rounds on a Count Up game.

If you are on PC then you have access to using your mouse, which is really convenient for some of the minigames, this included. 200 points should be easy if you can consistently land bullseyes, or triple 20, the most desired shot. As for the Low Ton, you need to score in between 100 and 150 points in a single round, non inclusive. Land any number in between 101 to 149, a decently easy way is to land 2 bullsesyes and then whatever single number, it should not be so complicated.

Batting Center
Two requests here, score at least 1000 points in the Easy Game in Rank D, and score at least 1500 in the Normal Game in Rank A.

For the Easy game you do not have a reticle to aim, but its fine since you have a single, big target to hit. Each HOME RUN will get you 100 points. Spend a few shots figuring out where to aim (i think it should default to the center) and then hit a measly 10 shots out of the 20 total.
In case you are not aware, the Batting Center setups are always the same, and they've been documented in this GameFAQs page[gamefaqs.gamespot.com], for this difficulty I'd say its easy enough to do them "blind", but check them if you want.

For the Normal game, you now instead have 3 areas to hit, when you hit one it will be colored in and hitting it again won't get you any points until you hit all three. Once you do that, a red target will appear on the top section, hitting it will earn you 300 points. If you miss it, it will go away, so you must hit it the turn after it appears. To reach 1500 points you either need to hit 11/20 shots, with 2 of these being the red targets. IF you miss them you can still succeed on the attempt but you need to hit a total of 15 instead. This number is ONLY if you somehow fail all the red targets. All in all its not incredibly hard either, but this one may take you a couple of tries. You can check the speed distribution in the GameFAQs link. Additionally, there IS indeed a much harder Batting Center request, and in the section for it bellow you can also read to learn how to better dominate this minigame, the tips will apply for any difficulty.

Karaokekan Kamurocho
Cheer on Haruka's singing and reach a certain score 2 times. Reach Karaoke Pro (at least 800 points) in Rank D, and Karaoke King (850 points) in Rank B. If you have experienced the nightmare that was Otometal my life in Kiwami 1, rest easy, her song in this game (I wanna change myself) its actually one of the easiest beatmaps in this game, so this should not be hard.

Fu-kuma Casino Gambling
On the Underground Red Light district, you need to obtain certain amounts of chips in a single session of each of the three gambling minigames. For this take note of the amount of chips you have heading into the table, add the amount required to that number. You need to leave the table only after you have more than this new result. For example: you enter with 1000 chips, you need to earn 2000. Then only leave after your total amount of chips is 3000 or more.

The requirements are the following:
Rank B:
  • High Stakes Blackjack: Earn 1000 chips.
  • Poker: Earn 3000 chips.
  • Roulette: Earn 1000 chips.
Rank S:
  • High Stakes Blackjack: Earn 2000 chips.
  • Poker: Earn 5000 chips.
  • Roulette: Earn 2000 chips.
You can use cheat items to get these requirements done, I will detail the best way to use them in the section about making money bellow, it's way better to optimize their uses since you need a big amount of money for the final request.

Beat up certain opponents in Kamurocho
When traveling with Haruka, if you meet the Trust ranking requirements, there will be some scripted groups of thugs in some parts of town, they are not hard but beating them up is the final group of normal tasks in Kamurocho.

They go as follows:
Rank C:
  • West Park
  • Children's Park
  • Public Park No. 3
Rank B:
  • Nakamichi Street
Rank A:
  • Near Club Shine in Pink Street.
Normal Tasks - Minigames (Okinawa)
Continuing with the normal tasks, now for the ones available in Okinawa.

Pool
There are two tasks required for pool in total. In Rank F, you need to get a combination shot during a solo game of 9 ball. In Rank SS you need to win a solo 9 ball game with no fouls.

Before anything, I recommend you set your game to limit 30 FPS, and when the game asks you to select the input device for the minigame, use the keyboard and mouse. Pretty much following what this little guide says. The mouse will remove shot rng because it only registers the vertical movement.
https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2864001873
Then, to learn how to properly aim your shots, refer this this other guide, specifically the section "Aiming Your Shots Easily", you can read the rest but for the point i want to get across you only need the strategy in that section.
https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2389556285
So in a nutshell, use your mouse and learn how to calculate the shots, I'd usually use some small booklet or sheet of paper to align them in my screen.

After you got these basics done, now for the actual tips. For the combination shot, since you are solo, you can actually just make any fouls and set up any ball near a hole, then the ball that's supposed to go in next close to it, and then place your cue ball in the position where hitting the next ball in the game's order will hit the 3rd and get that one into any of the table's holes. Nothing is restricting you from doing something like that, and it's probably faster than playing normally and having a specific shot like that appear on its own, here's a diagram to illustrate the point, sorry for the bad drawing, and also the shot itself is just a representation, i think the shot done like that wouldn't necessarily work, I'd try to get them as close as possible so a straight shot can do it.

As long as you get the combination shot, you can finish the round and you'll complete the request.
Now for the second one, it sounds harder than it is, considering you can use a technique that is it's own game achievement to do it. Winning a 9 ball game with no fouls. On paper, using the mouse strategy it shouldn't be so hard, unless you end up with a situation where the next ball you have to hit is almost impossible to land due to the locations of the rest of the balls in the table. BUT a faster way of getting it done is to execute a Break Ace, which is to get the 9 ball in a hole on your first turn, instantly winning.
Here's a video of me doing it, you can read the description of it for the full details on how i did the shot, but in general i used the mouse, aimed at the section you see and full force sent it. It may take a few tries but its an option if you struggle to finish a regular game.

Ryukyu Gambling Hall
Just like in the Purgatory Casino, you need to earn a certain amount of gambling tags in each of the 3 games available here.
Cee-lo:
  • Earn 1000 tags (Rank F).
  • Earn 1500 tags (Rank D).
Koi-koi:
  • Earn 800 tags (Rank E).
  • Earn 1000 tags (Rank C).
Oicho-kabu:
  • Earn 800 tags (Rank B).
  • Earn 1000 tags (Rank SS).
A tip for these, you can initiate a game and instantly leave using the quit minigame function, doing this will increase the play count. At about 20 plays of each, you should have the ability to bet the maximum amount of tags, which should be 1000. You start off with 200 usually. I believe this increase depends on which chapter you are on, but if you are in Premium Adventure (which you actually need as you'll see on the final requests) you'll have no issues.

Usually these minigames are completely dependent on luck, so just playing until you meet the win requirement is a decent strategy, just bet the max amount and hope luck comes your way. If it happens that you lose a lot of your tags, hopefully you had saved just before attempting any of these and reload the file, trust me, you'll want to keep the most tags you can.
Some cheat items can be used, mainly for cee-lo, and I'll detail them in the money section bellow.

Fishing at Morning Glory Beach
You need to catch a Gurukun (Rank E) and an Irabucha (Rank C).
The Gurukun spawns in the range of 30-100m, I recommend using regular worms as bait and aiming for the earlier sections of the bar where they can spawn.
For the Irabucha, the spawn range is 50-120m. I recommend using shrimps as bait, they can be bought at the Fish Market. Try to aim for the earliest section of where the shrimp effective area is.
Here's a rough graphic of the spawn range for both fishes. In those areas the grand majority of fishes appear so you may need a few catches before you land the one you seek. The catch itself should not be hard either.

Remember you can refresh the fish icons by leaving and re entering the minigame, in case you don't see any fishes in the area you need.

Golf
Finally, the last item on the list before moving onto the HARD requirements are two tasks in Golf.
The first one is scoring at least a +2 in a 9 hole tournament (Rank D). The second is to score at least 400 points in the Near-Pin Contest (Rank B).

For the 9 hole game, I can't really say more than play enough to get a feel of the game, I went in myself without really seeing anything about it. You'll eventually start figuring out how to land pars or eagles in each of the holes with enough trial and error, some can be a bit harder than others.
Some of the holes that have a par 5 can sometimes be done in just 3 shots, so taking advantage of this can help your total score. Given that you need to score at least 0 to unlock a substory, and a whooping -5 for the Completion list, assuming you've done those already you should have no problem with this one.

As for the Near-Pin Contest, 400 points is LAUGHABLE once you learn that you need almost perfection later on, but don't worry, it's genuinely not as bad as it sounds. I'll detail how to conquer this in the section bellow about golf, but overall 400 should be achieved with zero trouble even without knowing pro tips.

and that's it... but we're only just beginning...
HARD TASKS
And we arrive at the point that most fear. Bellow from here are the tasks that I personally find the hardest to do, and the game itself knows it is the case, since most are locked to be the final ones you can even do. There's a few extra "regular" things, and then come the ones that I call, THE BIG 4, followed by the very last request...

Boxcelios
On the Theater Square Club SEGA, you need to reach a certain level 2 different times. Level 25 on Rank D, and Level 50 on Rank S.
Boxcelios can be a bit hard to figure out initially, you move your ship in a 2D plane but your enemies are kind of in a 3D one. You move slower when you shoot your beam, so it's better to move into a comfortable position where you're probably going to hit the enemy weak spot, then start shooting.
Make good use of the 2 seconds of frozen time you get. The first, lets say, 20ish stages aren't that bad, you should try to aim for reaching that point with no less than 29 or 28 seconds remaining. It can take a bit of practice to get the hang on it.
Level 50 is pretty much the ultimate goal the game has, as after that it soft resets back to easier stages. Bellow its a run I got getting to level 50, had spent over a year ever since i first got level 50+ for the first time for the minigame achievement, and I was able to get it again for Haruka's Trust with very few attempts, so I guess those skills you get while learning this minigame can stick around. I can't say much more than keep playing and getting the feel for it. Check the video and see the movements, I do believe the stages are in a set order? So besides the eventual RNG movement the other ships will do, you should be able to replicate your movements once you nail down the basics.
As long as you REACH level 50 you should be good, even in the video i wasn't able to beat it, because the enemy ship is genuinely massive and hard to hit, but just reaching it should give you the requirement.

Shogi
There are three separate instances where you have to beat Haruka at the Ryukyu Shogi Parlor: at Ranks D, C and SS.
She mentions herself that she gets better every time, and I suppose you should believe her. Unfortunately I have zero clue how to play Shogi (unlike Mahjong which i did learn ever since Y0), thankfully, there's some video guides that can help you do these requirements, her AI seems to be consistent and I was able to replicate these exact strategies and they worked flawlessly. They always start with Kiryu going first so restart the challenge if you don't win the order showdown.

Rank D:

Rank C:

Rank SS:
IMPORTANT NOTE. So the same user as before never uploaded a video on the final match vs Haruka, according to their comments they were trying to figure out the right patterns. Not sure if they ever plan to actually do it, but thankfully there is an alternative by this japanese player. The video is actually from the original Y3 release, but following along did help me get.
BUT, it does seem like her AI is more dynamic, and sometimes me replicating the video didn't match up with the actions she did. Like halfway through she moved some pieces differently, but a few turns later she went back at the board completely matching. However sometime near the "end" she just did something completely different, I just tried to protect what I thought was the King piece, and it seems like her AI will genuinely just give up eventually. I was able to win first try but i did get a bit worried once she deviated from what I was watching, so I'm not sure how likely she is to win if you try moving other pieces, but I think she will just give up after a few turns after passing 60+.
My personal recommendation: Follow along this video (the Shogi part is at the very beginning) and then just stall if she moves things differently after about 60 turns. I think it's faster to follow this than to use a Shogi app on your phone or something.

and now... it's where your minigame expertise will truly be put to the test, as you will be asked near perfection in these next few challenges... prepare for: THE BIG 4.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: All of the remaining tasks have something special about them: They are all requirements that unlock once you hit Rank SSS. As such, you can only hope to complete them if you are in Premium Adventure.
To my knowledge, they will not show up if you are not in this "state" in your save file. I'd assume most people would be on PA anyways, but I had to point it out at the very least.
THE BIG 4 #1: DARTS
Request: Beat the Hard CPU opponent in a game of 701 Darts in 5 rounds or less.

Welcome to the Big 4, as I've mentioned several time throughout the guide, for these 4 tasks, you need to achieve almost perfection in the minigames.

The first one is the one I'd call the easiest. In Bantam you need to win 701 within 5 rounds. Take longer than 5 rounds and even if you win the game, Haruka will not be pleased.

Once again I'd recommend using the mouse for this, I genuinely can't do it with a controller. Limiting to 30 FPS may help you be more stable? I never really felt like that affected me for this one.
The maximum you can score per round is 180 points, by landing a triple 60 in each shot. If done perfectly in rounds 1-3, you can win by round 4. Even then, you are allowed to mess up slightly and still meet the score by round 5. You WILL definitely need to aim for the triple 60's mostly.

Here is a video of me doing it, I actually got really good during this attempt that I succeeded by round 4. It may take a bit but eventually the muscle memory can help in landing the shots.

As an extra tip, you can try to replicate what this guide says. Personally I did not use this setup, rather I waited for the hand to be aligned before trying a shot (as seen in the video above). Still, worth checking it out if you're struggling:
https://gtm.you1.cn/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2385420586
THE BIG 4 #2: BOWLING
Request: Score 270 or more points in a 10-frame game of Bowling.

We are starting to up the heat. Once again, near perfection is required for this one. The maximum score possible in bowling is 300, by landing 12/12 possible strikes.

For 270, this allows for about... a single mess up. You can crunch the numbers yourself, but as an estimate, out of the 12 shots, you are only allowed to mess up in a single time. And if you do, hopefully you fix the mess up with a spare, else, depending on the frame number where you messed up, it won't be enough. I found this bowling calculator which can help you determine whether or not an attempt you're making still has a chance of pulling a 270+ score or if you should just reset to speed things up: https://www.bowlinggenius.com/

Now onto the important part, how to manage to land the perfect shots almost every time?
Well, in my many attempts I managed to figure out near perfect setups to get all pins down, I think a little bit of RNG may be in place but overall it worked great once I nailed it down.
There is some actual rhythm based reaction to it, so text will not be the best way to describe it, but overall the steps are:

Step 1) From the starting spot, move 2 button presses to the left to shoot from, should look like this:

Step 2) I'll explain in written form but I advise you check the video in the provided timestamp on this hyperlink.
The direction indicator moves like a metronome, starts going to the right and then goes back and forward. When it passes by the center (including when it begins) it makes a TICK noise. I aimed to feel the rhythm and press the button once I was about to hear the third tick. Again, I recommend watching the video to see/hear it best.
By following this rhythm I USUALLY ended up with one of two scenarios, depending on the timing, where the line will be aiming at, and I've got ways of dealing with both.

Scenario 1 (sliightly to the left of center pin):

Scenario 2 (middle of these two pins):

Step 3) Set the power for the shot, for this the timing isn't so bad, just click when it's near the top. Overall a 90+ power shot SHOULD be enough to pull off the trick.

Step 4) Add spin to the ball. I'll briefly explain how it works. The pink lines measure the spin to be applied in a direction, depending on how long and strong you move the analog, the bar will be half full (pale pink color) or full (strong pink). You can tell the difference here:

If you got Scenario 1 from above, you want to apply half a bar to the left:

For Scenario 2's follow up, apply 2 and a half bars to the right:

...and that's it. For some reason, If you have all the situations lined up, making these shots will almost guarantee a strike, the game somehow does it (almost) every time. It is funny when you think there are some weird physics in this game, yet this setup seems to remain consistent.

Once again, if you keep at this and try to replicate the scenarios, it will eventually become muscle memory and you'll land them more consistently.
I know well it can be nerve wrecking if you are doing very well and eventually choke at the end. Happened many times. If it keeps happening I suggest you take a few minutes in between resets (or even in the middle of an attempt) to calm yourself before you continue with your shots. It helps.

Also, while I've detailed some very specific shot setups in here, if you end up landing on different spots on the direction, it is still fixable, use your intuition or experience to attempt to fix the shots, take as a baseline the ones I've shared and determine how much more you may need to move them.
THE BIG 4 #3: BATTING CENTER
Request: Score 3000 or more points more in the Batting Center's Hard game.

While this one "allows" for more mistakes than the previous one, it is still not entirely easy, as there is way more you have to concentrate on.

Simply put, in order to get at least 3000 points, you NEED to land 16/20 shots. Out of these 16, 2 of them MUST be the red target that appears once you complete the Bingo board. If you do not hit them the turn they appear, they go away, and so does your attempt. I suggest resetting immediately if this happens. Besides those 2 specific scenarios, you are allowed to miss any other 4 shots. If you miss a 5th, reset to save yourself some time.

As previously mentioned, the patterns the Batting Center follows are (thankfully) always the same. The speed and type of balls will be the same on any turn no matter the attempt. This allows to plan ahead to what is coming. I personally have classified the shots in the sequence in 3 categories:
  • Slow Shots: Shots that are any less and up to 100 km/h
  • Fast Shots: Shots that are in the range of 110-120 km/h
  • Instant Shots: Anything above the previous, tend to be 140-160 km/h
With that said, here's the list of the shots you will expect in this difficulty:

As for when to shoot, one trick that all Yakuza games have is that Kiryu's arm will tense up when the timing window for the shot comes, you can use this visual cue to help you determine when you need to hit the ball. However it can be hard to react to the faster ones, so I recommend also trying to get a feel for the timing of each type of shot. Despite the different speeds, just try to get a feel and rhythm for the 3 main types of shots. Your timing for it should begin when you hear the ball being shot. I'll leave it up to you on how to do it but I personally do it this way:
  • Slow Shots: I try to get a feel of around 2 ticks of rhythm, hitting them on the 2nd one.
  • Fast Shots: Reusing the previous one, i try to get the feel for a single tick, having to hit it when it should come.
  • Instant Shots: These shots are actually so fast that you should hit almost as quick as you hear them being shot, just with a small delay. Hence the name "Instant"
I try to combine both the expected speed and rhythm and paying attention to Kiryu's arm tensing, to get the right reaction time. If you want to see my video segment of discussing this you can click here, after all the timing based stuff its easier to observe than to read.

Now as to where to shoot, I tend to aim to these spots you see, you need to hit multiple panels when possible to have enough shots to meet the score needed. Spot number 6 is where the red target will appear. If memory serves right it can be over the other 2 columns too. Remember, if you miss that one, reset immediately. Then just loop this a second time, and hit 4 additional shots, and the score will be yours.

Again, this demands insane precision and you can get nervous and choke, calm down when in a good attempt so that you're less prone to a mistake in the final shots, take a break if you need in between attempts. Enough dedication will help you get it.
THE BIG 4 #4: GOLF
Request: Score 1500 or more points more in the Near-Pin Contest.

The final one technically requires full perfection... but you are able to buy yourself some room to screw up if you get lucky, or are skillful...

Here's a rundown on the scores that each area fetch, you want to get as close to the Pin with a single shot, hence the name of the mode.

The best area to shoot for is the 150 points one. You have 10 shots, easy math gives us that you need to land there 10/10 times. HOWEVER, land yourself a Hole in One (or more), and you've earned the right to do slight mistakes during your run, as the additional 150 points will allow you to rescue an attempt if you are to mess up and land outside the 150 zone. I'd say if you make a mistake (land a non 150 point shot) during your run, keep on in the hopes that you may land a hole in one to rescue it. If you make more than two... perhaps you can save some time and reset right away.

Now... how does one land in the good score zone every time? Well, in my time doing this and "researching" it, I managed to discover a way to aim your shots almost perfectly there. The hole you are aiming for is always the same, and all that changes between shots is the wind. So here's how you get the shots to line up:

1) Select your club. For this, you will need to click the button that is mapped to "Change Shot Range", you can verify which button it is by going into the mini-game controls, for me it was the same used for heat actions by default. Once you do that, on your club there will be some text that now says "POWER 1/2". Once here, look for the club that says "3I 105Y". We'll be using this exact club for every shot.

2) Adjust for wind. The wind will randomly change on each shot, on each attempt, unlike the Batting Center, or the Golf mode in Kiwami 2, it is not always the same. For this you will need to adjust the spin of your ball depending on what you are seeing. The most important is the vertical wind direction, follow these indications:
  • Front facing wind: Move the spin cursor of the ball 2 times to the back.
  • Back facing wind: Move the spin cursor of the ball 2 times to the front.
  • Neutral wind: Move the spin cursor of the ball 2 times to the back, if you leave it neutral, the ball will bounce and land outside where we want it.

(Neutral can also be when the arrow points almost to the center more than to up and down)

I would recommend to NEVER move the spin to the sides, I personally did not mess with it and it will likely affect the strategy described.

3) Move the direction of the shot, now is when the horizontal orientation of the wind will come in handy. It may take some trial and error to figure this, but move your aiming direction using the minimap as a visual guide, make a mental image of the center of the blue dot being in the same level as the hole, and try to calculate how much would the wind push it to get to the hole. For example in this picture, I've added a yellow dot which is roughly the blue dot taken to the hole level. Then it's up to us to assume how would the wind horizontal direction push it towards the hole. Calculate this and find the direction of your shot.

If you adjust this right, you may just get a hole in one and make your attempt more likely to succeed.
If you get the really strong winds (redish-purple color), they can be hard to play around and sometimes you may just mess up the shot, it happens and its simply bad RNG, try again and hopefully they will not be pestering you.

4) Land the timing for the shot. In order to shoot the ball you must press and hold the shoot button, release it when it reaches maximum potency on the power bar, then it will come back and you need to press it again, hopefully on the starting line. If you nail the timing, you'll most likely hit the area we want. At times even not landing the second press perfectly may still get you the 150 points, depends on the shot itself. Even if it gets you less, a possible hole in one may still save the attempt.

I don't feel like this timing is hard, its almost like the game both helps you and has a very consistent way of letting you hit it, you can click here to see the segment of my video where this timing is shown, but overall you have to master it to win this.

And that's it, these steps are very easy to follow, put them in motion and practice and you can get it, the success factor comes in whether or not you can land the right area the 10 times, or get a hole in one to be able to screw up a tad bit. All in all this is less nerve wrecking than the Batting Center in my opinion.
THE FINAL REQUEST
This request technically appears as soon as you reach Rank SSS. However, I've decided to leave it for last, just as I actually did when doing all of these.

If you go to Children's Park, you'll see a gloomy man on a bench, talking to him reveals that after the Omi Alliance war 3 years prior, his business lost its customers and he was forced to borrow a lot of money to keep it afloat. After all that time, he's left with a 30.000.000 Yen debt that he has no way of paying... besides his own life insurance money.

Haruka worries and Kiryu decides to help cover his debt, due to his involvement to the events that let him to this outcome. Your final task is to gather 30 million yen and gift them to this guy.

Quite the task alright. I don't recall exactly but I believe I got around 5 million in total by the time I finished the game, so still quite a lot more to go on from there. The rest of this guide will detail some of the different ways you can make cash in this game, to get to this amount. Some are better than others, but I'll describe all the options available.
Ways to Make Money
Street Fights
While not incredibly efficient, this is the first option that comes to mind.
I'm not 100% sure but I believe if you equip the Lucky Bracelet and Lucky Binding accesories, the monetary rewards from enemies may increase. You can get up to 50K yen sometimes, or even Gold Plates which sell for 100K. But it is unreliable as you may as well get some of the worthless crafting items, still, it was worth mentioning.

House of Extras
After beating the game, in the Kamurocho Hills Construction Site, or the Ryukyu Fish Market 2nd floor, an oracle character will appear. They will allow you to access new modes which I believe were originally DLC for the PS3 release.
The one we want to look at is the "All Star Tag Tournament". This is a coliseum tag battle where Kiryu and Majima will team up against pairs of enemies consisting of the different bosses from the game.
Beating all 3 battles can earn you an average of 700K yen, lasting about 10 minutes per attempt, assuming decent play. Some enemies can be annoying and the brackets are random.

Gambling - Fu-kuma Casino
Gambling has the chance of making you the most money, the fastest... while being heavily luck dependant. Some of the bigger payouts can be done at the Purgatory Underground Casino or Dargon Palace. I recommend the former due to the ease of access to a nearby save point.

Roulette
Roulette has the chance of turning 100.000 Yen into 3.6 Million, easily. You can bet up to 1.000 chips, and earn a payout of 36 times if a single number you bet everything to lands. This is great... but it is easier said than done.

There are cheat items that can help us in the many gambling games, I'll be listing the locations of all them later, for now, the best ones to use.

The Zero Jewel will make the number that lands in Roulette to be either 0 or 00, so a 50% chance, great odds. There are two available for us. The best use is to drop a save, bet on one of the numbers, reload if you miss. Do this for both.
Then we have the Red and Black Jewels, which will make the number to land to be either of those colors. Those are still 1/18 odds which aren't the best. If you want to, you could bet on a number, use the corresponding gem, and repeat until it lands on whatever you bet, reloading when it fails. Granted, this can be heavily time consuming, but I'd wager if you somehow get a macro to keep the action looping, you could passively AFK this. Just be mindful to stop it if you do actually win. I'll admit i was a bit lazy and did do this for about 1.5-2 hours until I got a win.

Blackjack
In Blackjack you can bet up to 1.000 chips and earn up to 2.500 if you get an instant Blackjack.
There are 3 Blackjack amulets in the game, which will make you win in this fashion for 5 rounds in a row, after used. I recommend using them turn 1, and quitting after thew 5th round, when the effect will end. Keep in mind the game will not notify you of this.

There is also 2 Bust Amulet items, however these ones ARE A LIE. They just make it more likely for the dealer to bust for 5 turns, but the player can and WILL still bust or lose to a higher number than the dealer. Personally it is not worth the time or effort to use it successfully if you look to maximize the profits it can provide.

Poker
Finally we have Poker, Texas Hold 'Em style. We have access to 3 Royal Joker items. These will guarantee the next set of cards drawn to be beneficial for your hand. Using them should come when the right situation presents itself. Personally, I would wait until you have some very good starting cards that the next 3 drawn can only improve on, not just any random cards.
Afterwards, I would say increase the bet every time, and hopefully some of the CPU opponents do the same, what you want is a reward pile of like 5.000 chips or more to make using the item worth it. There's still a small chance you lose your hand, depending on what the opponents drew, but its small. Your biggest concern should be if you want to keep the winning pot or not, depending how big it is. You can always save beforehand and reload if you think you can get a better reward.

Ryukyu Gambling Hall
The other gambling minigames can be found here, or also in the Dragon Palace. Once again I prefer this spot due to the easy and quick save spot at the Ryudo Office. While there's a few games, I personally say forget about most and focus only in one, and just for the cheat items.

Cee-lo
This game has the chance of giving you easy tags when using the cheat items available on it. Before anything make sure to:
1) Enter an immediately leave the game about 20 times, this should unlock the ability for you to bet the max amount of 1.000 chips, making your winnings better.
2) Have several thousand tags as your totals. It seems like the more tags you have, the higher amounts of totals will your opponents hold as well. This makes them more likely to bet high amounts.

Once you've done this you can start using the cheat items, use them, win the round, then before being asked to bet for the next banker's turn, leave the game and keep all your earnings. It's better like this as you can only use one item per launching the minigame. Being the banker first could be beneficial, you can simply reroll the minigame until this happens.

The cheat items here are:
  • Piss Mountain Stone: Every opponent will miss their dice throw.
  • 1-1-1 Gum: Gets you five times your bet.
  • Trips Yokan: Makes you land a triplet, winning 3 times your bet.
  • 1-2-3 Gum: All opponent land 1-2-3, which is an instant loss for them.

After you've used all the cheat items I'd say call it a day for this game. Technically its the least forgiving gambling game, but your time may be better spent doing other methods for money gains.

In my video I briefly talked about cho-han, but ultimately I do not really recommend it.

Cheat Item Locations
Here's where you can find the cheat items I described here.
  • Zero Jewel: Given by Rikiya after showing him around Kamurocho.
  • Red Jewel: Kamurocho Locker 38, Given by Haruka at Rank B of her Trust.
  • Black Jewel: Ryukyu Locker 09
  • Blackjack Amulet: Kamurocho Locker 23, Ryukyu Locker 26
  • Bust Amulet: Ryukyu Locker 05 (still don't recommend wasting your time with this)
  • Royal Joker Card: Kamurocho Locker 07, Ryukyu Locker 12
  • 1-1-1 Card: Kamurocho Lockers 04 and 10
  • 1-2-3 Gum: Ryukyu Locker 35
  • Piss Mountain Stone: Kamurocho Locker 05, Ryukyu Locker 34
  • Talking to Bob Utsunomiya after beating the game will reward you with +1 of all of the above, plus a Trips Yokan (only one in total for this item)

Gathering and Delivering the 30 Million
Alternate Methods for earning extra cash
If you aren't satisfied yet, there's a few other avenues you can get money from.

You can try to fish for Tuna (Maguro), as they sell for 100.000 Yen each. However this can be a daunting task, as you may know If you've done it before.

Winning the Golf Tournament also gets you 100K, minus the entry fee of 5.000 yen, still, very decent payout and a much easier task if you've learned how to play the holes.

Finally, and especially if you've done all the gun crafting, and think you won't be needing most of your items anymore, you can simply sell everything you own for extra cash. Regular items can be sold at the pawn shop, while weapons can be sold at the weapon dealer. I did do this given that this was the final remaining thing I was missing on my save file, and the only thing I had left to do was Legend mode.

Profiting from Gambling
After you're done with your gambling, if you chose that method, you need to turn your chips and tags into cash. To do this the best method is to redeem Platinum Plates for 1.500 chips or tags. Each sells for 150.000 Yen.

BIG DISCLAIMER HERE, MAKE SURE YOU DON'T PUT MORE THAN 99 PLATES IN YOUR BOX BEFORE SELLING THEM.

In a normal playthrought you may think you have infinite space in the Item Box, when it reality it only lets you store up to 99 of each type of item. Any more you put in will simply get discarded. If you have more than 99 redeemable Plates, sell some before you redeem and store more. You do NOT want to accidentally lose several million due to this. This almost happened to me, though thankfully I did not save in between starting to redeem and store plates, and then going to sell them, so reloading my file saved me a severe headache. But do be aware of this, please.

After you've used whichever method you preferred, you will hopefully reach the grand amount of 30.000.000 Yen, Kiryu will comment on it so you can go deliver them.

All in all, I do believe the best method, after using the easy cheat items, is to do the All Star Tag Tournament. Though of course this requires your full concentration in playing and fighting well. Doing the roulette 1/18 chance could be an option, but menuing can be annoying. I mentioned the possibility of running a macro that keeps reloading attempts, though I didn't do this myself. I did kinda do it manually, semi passively while I handled other work on a laptop. It can be a bit consuming, but requires less effort than putting your all into doing coliseum fights.
Pretty much you have to pick your poison, no other way to say it.

Whenever you're ready to depart with all your hard earned cash, you can go back to Children's Park and deliver it, the guy will be grateful to you, and leave.

And with that... it will be all.
Video Guide
As explained at the beginning, this guide was originally made in video form, which goes way more in depth with explanations, you can check it out here:

Final Words and Closing
And like that, you too will become the World's Greatest Dad and Achieve Rank EX on Haruka's Trust.

Honestly, the 30 Million yen was what scared me the most when I first read the requirements for this side mode, knowing that there wasn't any REALLY easy way to make money in this game. It took me a good while to decide whether or not I would actually tackle this, but ultimately I decided to do it. After achieving it It felt good to see it through to the end, specially knowing that most people do not do this, makes one feel special bout the accomplishment.

I do hope this guide was useful to you! Whether it was the written or video version, I'm glad to help people out on completing this task.
This written version took me... almost 9 months to finish, which I'm quite ashamed of, knowing that I had all the info but I didn't manage to find the time to put it together.
But just like how I did this ingame requirement, I decided to see it through the end and despite the several monthly breaks in between progressing in the writing of this version, I'm glad to have finished it at last. If you liked it I would appreciate if you rated both the guide and the video, it would be a great help!

Credit where credit is due, I got a lot of my info from CyricZ's Guide on GameFAQs, which you can find here: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/239455-yakuza-3-remastered/faqs/77723/introduction
As well as getting the hang of a few tricks by watching GeorgiePotatoFace's video on Haruka's Requests: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO-H3cdnfyM
I took references from other resources but these are the main ones to shout out, there's a better list on my Youtube video's description.

And lastly, thank YOU for reading all the way down here.

As of me finally finishing this written guide, I've recently finished the story of Yakuza 4 Remastered, and a quick skim through the requirements for Haruka's Trust in that game don't seem incredibly terrible, I spotted a few high scores on the Batting Center, but overall it seems doable and way easier than 3 had. Maybe if the opportunity presents itself, I may do a quick tips for the requirements in 4, but we'll see...

That's mostly it, if you happen to spot any errors or corrections I might have missed, please let me know in the comments.
For now, thank you once again, and happy hunting!
