Intro
⠀Once, I played DRG with my friend and he asked me what mods do I use. After that I spent some time finding and sending to him manually the ones I found most important. That wasn't very exciting, so I decided to create the magic manuscript that has all mods I like and that can magically transfer me or anyone else I show it to the mod pages. And here we are, I made it.

⠀My thanks goes to DRG modding community, this wouldn't have been possible without you, for obvious reasons. Thanks for making the game more fun and comfortable to play! And of course, thank you Ghost Ship Games for creating DRG! You are the reason all of this exists to begin with!

⠀Before we start, the only thing you need to do is go to https://mod.io/g/drg and log in with your Steam account. If you already are logged in, you can start reading the mod list, that's all I have to say here, really.

(But if you have no idea how DRG modding works or you didn't know it existed at all before opening this guide, check this video out, it's very short, comprehensible and just very cool)
Frameworks
Some mods require frameworks to work, so they are first in order.

1. DRG Mod Hub[mod.io]
Adds interface which is required for some mods to function properly.

2. DRGLib[mod.io]
A script collection to help avoid rewriting basic functionality of the game while using mods. Many mods require this one to work.

3. Miracle Mod Manager[mod.io]
This one is required for Miracle's Magnificent M.U.L.E.s[mod.io](also listed in cosmetic mods)

4. Retrograde Mod Spawner[mod.io]is needed for Hazard Persistence Enjoyer[mod.io]and Text Commands Wheel[mod.io](listed in QoL)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Shout Framework[mod.io] for mods which add or replace voice lines.
QoL UI mods (must have)
6. Class Icons Default[mod.io] and 7. Simple Bosco Icon[mod.io] changes the default-appearance dwarf portraits and bosco portrait to minimalistic icons similar to mission icons, making interface more solid-looking.
⠀⠀ ᠌᠌ ᠌ ᠌ ᠌ ᠌ ᠌

8. Ammo Percentage Indicator Extended [1.1][mod.io]shows you when it's time to ressuply each of your weapon and tool.

9. Health and Shield Numbers[mod.io]shows you the health and shield numbers.

10. Live Mission Stat Tracker[mod.io]tracks your mission stats live! These names are really self-explanatory, to be honest.

11. Platform Placement Preview[mod.io]shows you where your next platform will be placed.

12. Better Spectator[mod.io]makes spectating better while you're downed. There's no official mod image, so I put picture with my honest reaction when I installed this one for the first time:

13. Build Inspector[mod.io]this one lets you inspect teammates' builds. If you wanna do it, use the class terminal in living room or press H and open this mod's page in Mod Hub menu.

14. More FOV[mod.io] expands the FOV setting.

15. Hazard Persistence Enjoyer[mod.io]allows you to cap the default selected difficulty on mission selection screen.

16. Text Commands Wheel[mod.io]adds a wheel that lets you send prepared phrases in text chat.
Example layout:

17. Closer Promotion Terminal[mod.io]adds a promotion terminal to spawn room on space rig (second from right) so you don't have to go to memorial hall each time you need a promotion. I don't have anything against the hall itself, it's ceremonial and all, but lacking of opportunity to trade missing minerals/credits needed for a promotion via promotion terminal really suсks. So now we at least have a promotion termian closer to mineral trading one.

18. Dash Perk Suicide Preventer[mod.io]this mod makes the Dash activation window 0.2 second SHIFT key double taps instead 0.4 second, so now you will kill youself less often by triggering it accidentally.

19. Unique Status Effect Icons + HUD Elements[mod.io]and 20. Sticky Flame Status Icons[mod.io]adds unique status icons that vanilla game is missing.

21. More Transparent shield and blood overlays[mod.io]makes shield and blood overlays more transparent. Because it is really hard to escape hairy situations when your FOV is almost halved by "realistic" visual effects.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
22. Reload Popup [1.1][mod.io]shows quick notification on screen every time Born Ready perk triggers.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
23. Boss HP Bar for Big Enemies [1.1][mod.io]shows boss HP bar for Bulks, Crassuses and Nemesises when they spawn.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
24. Display Stabber Vines' HP [1.1][mod.io]is self-explanatory.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
25. Where's Dotty's Head?! [1.1][mod.io]shows you where it is.

QoL cosmetic mods (still must have)
26. Platform Effect Indicator[mod.io] makes platform modifications visible in-game.

27. Better Contrasting Twins[mod.io]also known as Recolored Arbalest[mod.io]Now you can actually see the difference.

28. Glowing Lines[mod.io]makes gunner's and scout's ziplines glow.

29. Better Bolt Indicator[mod.io] makes Nishanka bolts more noticable and sci-fi looking.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
29. Death Marker [1.1][mod.io]puts big shiny hologram above fallen and iron willing dwarves.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
30. Better Explosion Range Indicator [1.1][mod.io]range sphere for C4 now only shows maximum range without animation. Also changes it's color if there's at least one alive dwarf within, driller himself included.

31. Tool skin sets [WARNING: ENABLE 1 AT A TIME]

Classy Tools™[mod.io]

Scale Brigade Tools[mod.io]

I wish Ghost Ship Games added tool skins officially, they are really marvelous.

Some neat changes to weapon paintjobs:

32. Smooth Dark Future Textures[mod.io]for those of you who slaps Dark Future paintjob on every weapon.

33. Smooth Rival Tech Textures[mod.io]slicked version.

37. M1000 Classic Classic[mod.io]

38. Boomstick Classic[mod.io]and its stockless version[mod.io]

39. Revolver cylinder swaps (here you should enable only one at a time too, each mod changes the model for all revolver layouts. You can use them with Classic framework)
Elephant rounds[mod.io]
and Six Shooter[mod.io]

40. Cosmetic Restriction Remover[mod.io] *Smart Stout voice* ''Removes the flags that prevent the game from allowing the player to apply the default weapon framework, weapon paintjob & armor paintjobs to other frameworks within that class. And also allows all pickaxe parts to be used in both blade slots. This allows all players to see your swag. Also unlocks the old DRAK-25 paintjob for use''

41. Abyss Bar spring figures:

Spring Cube[mod.io]

Rock And Moon[mod.io]

47. Fancy Steeve[mod.io]
and 48. Steeve Better Visibility[mod.io]
make Steeve more noticable.

48. Bot Gradient[mod.io]adds gradient to rivals' glowing parts. Also, hacked patrol bots' glow switched to HACK-C style RGB, making your Robo-Steeves easier to differ.

49. Give Gunner His Cigar[mod.io]gives gunner his cigar from title screen art. It will look weird with some mustaches and helmets tho.

50. Boolo Blast Juicebox[mod.io]replaces revive canteen with a pack of ''juice'' made of red sugar and boolo caps. Little pretty lore expansion.

51. Refined Refinery[mod.io]Applies a Minehead/Doretta palette to liquid morkite refinery stations.

52. Full Scale Brigade[mod.io]you can see waht this one does.

53. Mission Status: ROCK 'N' STONE[mod.io]TO THE BONE!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
54. Showable Legs In First Person [1.1][mod.io]another self-explanatory name here. Looks especially cool with Jet Boots.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
55. Shadows! [1.1][mod.io] this one is very beautiful and VERY laggy.

Sound mods
56. Passive Aggressive Mission Control[mod.io]replaces Rob with very nice elf guy who really loves you, his job and in general everything in his life.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
57. Tweek, The Goblin Intern [1.1][mod.io]another MC replacer.

58. Profanity Booster[mod.io]makes the game much more realistic. I swear the developers wanted these sound files to be found

59. Minecraft Item Pickup SFX[mod.io]I know, I know, this may be not really a sound you expect to hear in DRG, but I really don't like the default ear-raрing sound effect. And I don't really have any distracting minecraft flashbacks, because I haven't played it much since 2013. If you are like me, this mod is definitely for you.

60. Silent Born Ready[mod.io]removes dwarven callouts when Born Ready perk triggers. Reloading sound is still on it's place tho.

61. No Gasp On Low Ox[mod.io]removes chocking sounds on low oxygen. Audio signals and voicelines are still here.

62. Azusa's Weapon Sound Pack [1.1][mod.io]replaces all firepower sounds with new ones. Very refreshing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Seasonal event mods
I have one important thing to say: I don't recommend you to enable mods from different categories simultaneously, if you see that they're changing the same things.

April Fools (1st of april)
I know there's no April Fools in DRG, but I think these mods fits the theme too well to pass them.

63. Danger. Darkness. Barrels![mod.io]adds many, many barrels.

64. BLAH BLAH BLAH Mission Control[mod.io]replaces blah blah blah blah with blah blah.

65. Googly Glyphids[mod.io]and 66. POG PLANTS[mod.io]they are watching you.

Come to Oktoberfest!

71. Oktoberfest Keg Bucket[mod.io]

Halloween (October)
This is Halloween!
72. Halloween Pumpkin Deposit Bucket[mod.io]

Yuletide/Christmas (December-January)
Does that mean Jesus existed in DRG universe? Was he a dwarf?

73. Yuletide Glyphids[mod.io]puts christmas hats on bugs.

74. Christmas Stocking Deposit Bucket[mod.io]last bucket replacer mod, I swear!

75. Xmas Zips[mod.io]it's like Glowing Lines,[mod.io] but more festive! By the way, don't enable both of them at once.

76. Xmas Flames[mod.io]
Potato PC mods
77. Low Poly Enemies[mod.io]what if DRG was made in 1997? Jokes aside this mod is really good looking and I recommend you try it even if you have beefy PC, just for refreshing your game. Works well with Biome Bugs[mod.io]and mods that put hats on glyphids. Maybe HandDrawnNerd will release Low Poly Objects one day. That would be cool.

78. Simpler Azure Weald[mod.io]simplifies how Azure Weald looks.

79. Simpler Hollow Bough[mod.io]same for the best biome ever.

80. Remove Decals[mod.io]removes footprints, blood splashes and bullet holes.

  • New picture for Platfrom Effect Indicator mod with both visual variants

Added 3 cosmetic mods:
  • Legs
  • Shadows!
  • Longer version of Bulldog Classic

Replaced 1 sound mod:
  • Silent Sprinting => Gear Sprinting Sound
This took a lot longer than I expected... Thanks for everyone who suggested mods in comments and in game chat. [1.2] is on the way because there's still some mods and formalization I forgot to add and some mistakes to fix.
Tips
1. There is no max amount of installed mods at this moment of time, or it's high enough for you to never reach it without intending.
2. The max amount of active mods is locked at 50 at this moment of time, so you'll have to make some hard choices. That's why mods are numbered, to make it easier for you to count them. Unfortunately you can't enable all of them at once, but in some cases you don't need to, check tip 3.
3. Some mods are directly conflicting with each other, because they overwrite same file(s). It's easy to understand, in most of the times this is quite obvious. Example is, my beloved bucket replacers. You should only enable 1 of them at once.
4. I highly recommend you to adjust FOV for yourself and turn down camera shakes (OPTIONS -> GAMEPLAY). They are really disturbing, but some players don't know about them and continue playing as epileptic dwarves.
5. Also don't forget to adjust your binds (OPTIONS -> CONTROLS -> BINDINGS) and UI (OPTIONS -> UI). Some of them, like item selector or compass are useless, and just blocking your view.
6. I know these tips has nothing to do with mods, I just put 'em here to expand the QoL idea of this guide. That's all for now.
Q&A
Q: Why X mod isn't on the list?
A: Because I didn't find it fittin' here for some reason. It doesn't automatically mean this mod is bad or I don't like it, probably it's because it causes bugs often, doesn't fit the game's style or not verified. That's the reason you won't find any meme sound/texture mods here (exception for a lore friendly, like Profanity booster[mod.io]). Same for approved mods. They deserve they own categories or even manuals, so maybe I will create them one day. My original purpose for this guide is to tell people about qualitive verified mods which doesn't break the atmosphere. Also keep in mind that modlist expands from time to time.

Q: Can I suggest a mod?
A: Of course, but please keep in mind that doesn't mean that I will add them for sure, mostly because of reasons listed above.

Q: Why didn't you mentioned each mod's creator right next to each mod name and link?
A: 1. Creator's name is one of the first things you see when you enter the mod page.
⠀⠀2. Some people can get distracted from the mods by additional links next to each one.
⠀⠀3. Adding author's link to every mod means adding at least 82 more links at the moment of ⠀⠀release, there's not enough free symbols in the biggest parts of guide for them.
⠀⠀4. Most accounts I know about is mod.io accounts.
⠀⠀5. About 20% of them are hidden.
I highly encourage you to support all mods and modders listed here, if you didn't do that already, for some reason!

Q: Why there's only three questions?
A: Because I don't really know what else I can add here. I tried to explain every important aspect in tips and mod categories. If there will be more interesting questions, I will add them.
Outro

That's all, dwarves! Thank you for reading this, and stay tuned!

You're welcome! There's more mods of this category out there, such as the one that disables ALL visual effects (muzzle flashes, blood splashes, weather and even fire and freeze particles) I didn't include them because I found them too extreme. But if you're going to squeeze every fps possible they will certainly help.
РКН_СОСИТЕ_ХУЙ 5 Mar @ 10:59pm
A HUGE thank to the author of this mod list! I literally have a potato pc (graphics card GTS 450 ) I have to squeeze the game into a window at about 1/9 of the screen and still have 25 fps, now with these mods I have 40 fps! Once again, many thanks to the author:sts_defect::steamthumbsup:
