A Multiple Video Series For New Players to Cold Waters W/ DotMod

Cold Waters is a simplified "modern" submarine combat simulation, but that doesn't mean it's easy. Addition of DotMod added a layer of complexity that offers a lot of fun, but little in the instructions on how to use them.

In a series of 4 videos, I will illustrate the four main aspects of engagement:

* sub vs sub

* sub vs surface

* surface vs surface

* surface defend against surface

* surface vs sub (with help of player-controlled helos)

Once you have learned these, you should understand most of the game, then just ask specific questions.

NOTE: I mainly cover 1984 and 2000 scenarios. 1968 with its relatively low-tech weapons is a very different game.

Introduction
Cold Waters is a fun game featuring "modern" submarine naval combat that pits you, in a submarine, against a hostile navy of both surface and submarine forces.

The Addition of DotMod not only expanded the arsenal available, it also added surface ships to the playable vessels.

Yet the documentation was a bit lacking for both the base game and DotMod.

I put together this video guide to show you how to play the various main aspects of combat:

  • Submarine vs submarine(s)
  • Submarine vs surface vessels (escorts, capital ships, and merchants)
  • Surface vessel vs surface vessel(s)
  • Surface defense against surface vessels (defend against antiship missiles)
