Revisit The Loft Tower Resort...
in its full sandbox glory!

This is the sanbox adaptation of ph_resortmadness!

The summer is coming. Why just not visit the Loft Tower Resort?

Main differences with the original Prop Hunt version:
Adaptation to sandbox:
This remake has been edited for the purpose of sandbox gameplay, entities and elements related to Prop Hunt were removed, such as weapons laying around, templates, hidden stuff among others etc. Player spawnpoints have been re-done and set some new ones spreaded around whole map. Elevator and the direct teleporter to the "5th Floor" (the old default spawnpoint) are still present and fully functional, the rest of the map remains untouched... Easter Eggs are present.

Ambient, graphics & overall look:
The lighting/global illumination received a makeover, where the original is map is lit in a strong yellow sunlight with shades of blue for ambient light, for this version I've implemented a vivid look to the real sunlight and ambient light making a more "summer vibes" touch, balanced and natural. The real shadows casted directly from the sunlight were increased in its "sun spread" value from 0 to 1, giving a much more softer appearance and less pixelated. Dynamic entity shadows too. Fog adjusted to match the new lighting. The default 2DSkybox Mountains were replaced with a colorizable sky instead which allows to be edited if you spawn a Sky Editor and should also add compatibility support for weather addons. Tonemapcontroller Bloom values were slightly reduced, textures in the exterior are now easier to see in their full details, as the strong bloom around them is less intense. Especially light colors.

The map itself:
I've also fixed some misc. lighting bugs where some static props used to have wrong light origins (dark), some dynamic and physics props were also corrected and/or slightly moved a few units to reach propper illumination. Another huge fix is related to the water, which would turn opaque sometimes depending on where the player was and it would bring many visual glitches alongside it, sadly I had to force a static high resolution cubemap reflection for the water, however I managed to "disguise" this effect with a new animated normalmap. I provided a way to enable real time water, see below...

Extra Notes & Features:
-AI Noded.
-Cubemap support for both HDR and LDR/SDR.
-Full HDR.
-Nav Mesh generated.
-New light_environment.
-Prop Hunt items removed.
-Tweaked fog and some other map elements.
-Water: Animated Normalmaps and bug fixed.

Yep. Even if the overall performance especially around the pool area has been improved, the fact that there are over 3500 props (half of them physics) is still a thing. Which is why I really suggest you to have multicore rendering enabled.

Type in your console the following commands:

gmod_mcore_test 1
mat_queue_mode -1
cl_threaded_bone_setup 1

Content Installation:

To run this map you don't need to install any other Source Egnine Games such as CSS, HL2EP, etc. You only need Garry's Mod, specific map content is packed inside the addon itself.

HOWEVER! You need to subscribe to the next few addons, otherwise you'll have missing content.

All the 5 Content Packs in one link - collection:

Known Issues:
-Noclipping around too fast and also running too fast **sometimes** might delay the sound engine, causing to not update the active playing soundscape in the area, as result the whole game will lag a lot for only a few seconds until the player remains in the new area and waits for the correct soundscape to update and start playing again.

Special Thanks to Nita for giving me permisson and allowing me to re-release the map as a new one.

dont ever play the original ph_resortmadness then..... Ive pulled some interesting tactics here to keep fairly acceptable performance without sacrificing visuals

I haven't yet, I'll give it a shot. Here's what came up when I did a search though. Not sure if this would be the cause or not. - https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/CUtlLinkedList_overflow

I'll check it out.. I wonder if a GMOD update broke things somehow but AFAIK it was all functioning just fine. A very unusual error I must say, never heard that one before. Have you tried the original map?

Got a lot of errors when running this that said: CUtlLinkedList overflow! (exhausted index range) (65535)
CShadowMgr::AddShadowDecalToSurface - overflowed m_ShadowDecals linked list!

Very choppy framerate, which is unusual given the strength of my machine. Looked very pretty from what I saw though!

It's a really good map!

HAHA! Well there WAS an invisible pillar in the middle of the stairs at the Balcony Pool. I could even climb it with Parkour mods. Doesn't matter now! Whatever you did, it's fixed! Just the Chaos of GMod!

@grimwit you're welcome I guess because I have no clue what you are talking about lol but if it works it works..... that's hammer for you... you fix one thing another one breaks down, Im already working the NEXT update where I found some incorrect reflections and other minor things

YAY! You fixed the weird invisible thing on the stairs near the main pool! Thank you!

@FFox that question was for Nita, I tried chatting but they're not responding for some time, mind passing it to her?
