Описание
This is work in action and I am actively testing these changes in my long-game. Comes in two separate mods :

Body And Soul
  • Makes base value of hunger bit lower (raising the multiplier) so the base increase stays the same but when it gets multiplied doing various other things it won't go down so fast. Hunger/thirst increase when sleeping was doubled.
  • Tripled Endurance Reduction from running. Sprinting is the same.
  • Reduces fatigue gain by 30-35 %.
  • Slower stress decrease - 30%.
  • Slower unhappiness increase - 5 times.
  • Suggested to use with "Slow" Stats Decrease setting at Sandbox options.
  • Meant to be used with 1h day length - not even sure if day length scales the stat decreases/increases or not.
Hunger vs. Thirst
  • Only Hunger and Thirst related changes from Body and Soul.

Hello @spoon I thank you for creating this mod, you helped me find what exactly I would need to edit in order for a well fed character to last longer without food.

It always bugged me the wrong way that a "stuffed" character cant eat anything at all but give him 10 minutes and he can eat a whole another turkey without problem. So I will test out if my character stays longer "stuffed" if I make the value "HungerIncreaseWhenWellFed" a negative and how it affects the moodle

Side note: I am playing with a timeframe of 14 hours = 1 day so it doesnt really feel it scales with the time length

TLDR: I want the benefit of a prolonged well fed moodle

Can we have more details about HungerThirstRebalance? how much is it rebalance, i feel like the hunger and thirst decrease faster :(

@Dingus Donkus definitely interested. I'm already using Ridiculously Rare Even Worse on Insanely Rare Food settings + Time Decreases loot set to a 55% chance of removing a food item from a container. So far so good where not every restaurant/gas station/convenience store has food and you won't leave Gigamarts with a shopping cart full of food.

Interested in what sandbox settings you used + any additional mods you used.

@jazzhands I'm currently hosting a local server (4 people) 12 months later world that I found has a really good food balance going, I'm using a very specific setup with Ridiculously Rare Even Worse to make things even more scarce, and a few more mods that affect balance. Its enough food to keep you going but not enough to build a stockpile or keep your weight up easily. If you want more info, send me a dm and I can pull up my settings and mods used for you to try out.

@spoon Yeah, the sleep balances it out. I think its realistic you can hold on with minimal food while your body is in normal shape but after losing weight and combined with hunger it becomes a more serious health risk. Even with Stable Weights mod + 10 day months + lowest loot setting + cold weather + plants dying with cold + all of my own mods we hardly came though the first winter in our long-game COOP server(We kind of avoided using our canned/dried food supplies too for a test purposes).

You are right, its hard to balance and hard to test such things. If a server has loot respawns enabled then I don't see any point of playing all :D Back in vanilla servers I didn't see the need to leave my base area at all because foraging and fishing are just too OP.

@spoon I see. Yes I have those mods installed as well. So pretty much this mod actually makes it so you starve longer since actions dont drain you as much... unless doubling hunger during sleep makes up for it. I think I will just nuke food spawns even harder at this point and maybe try it with the "Normal" stats decrease setting. I'm going for a "hunger is a constant threat but not annoying to manage" feel lol


Hunger must be the hardest thing to balance for PZ. I really wish they'd give us an individual sandbox setting for hunger, thirst, fatigue multipliers and let us have at it.

@jazzhands Yes you got that right. It does exactly that. But the bigger problem here might be that there are just too much food out there and the hunger does not matter that much. For me this mod is enough as I use .... well... I play differently to what is the norm. Vanilla map forage zonbes are broken, I stopped playing it long time ago and made my own map(Camden County - it also explains there on the description how the zones are broken) with proper zones + my hard forage mod for it as well(check my workshop). My Hard Trapping and Fishing mods also come in handy. Put all of them together and suddenly the hunger stat is not that slow after all.

Concerns like you have right now were what pushed me to do my own thing :D

Having trouble finding the right balance of scarce food + hunger being an actual threat but not annoying, have you found a good combination? Food is scarce already with the Ridiculously Rare Even Worse + Time Decreases loot mods.

- Trying to understand what this means. Does it mean you get hungrier at the same rate as vanilla but when walking,running,chopping wood, other actions etc you dont get hungry as fast? I'm running the HungerThirstRebalance mod only on an extremely scarce food loot dedicated server w/ "Slow" Stats decrease and it feels too slow. Were there any changes to thirst other than doubling increase when sleeping?
