Pin Krita on the taskbar

First method: Pin Krita without tracking hours
  • right click on Desktop
  • New > shortcut
  • Copy-paste (or change it if you installed Krita in a different place)
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Krita\krita\bin\krita.exe"
  • press Next
  • Give it a name and press "Finish"
  • drag and drop it on the "taskbar"

Seconds method : Pin Krita with tracking hours.
the result will look like this (one icon in default but it will become a double Icons when running the app)
1- Creating a Folder
go create a folder in a safe place

2- Making a file batch
  • Create a new text file
  • Open the file via notepad
  • Copy-paste
    start steam://rungameid/280680
  • save it
  • change the file name to "Start Krita.bat"



3- Make a new shortcut for the file "Start Krita.bat"
  • create a shortcut and name it like this
    cmd /c "full path to your batch file"
  • name it "Krita.exe" and press "Finish"







4-Change the icon
  • left click on "Krita.exe" then press "Properties"
  • go to "shortcut" tap then press "change icon"
  • Click "browser" and go find your original Krita.exe by steam
    mine on
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Krita\krita\bin\krita.exe

  • chose the Icon and press "ok"

5-Pin it to taskbar
  • right click on our "krita.exe. -> "pin on taskbar""

6-Optional:hide the floder
  • right click on the folder and put a checkmark on "Hidden"

Thanks for the guide! Helps a ton! For anyone having troubles with getting it to pin on Windows 11, add "explorer.exe" in front the path to your batch file (step 3 of the guide).

all you actually need to do is: while using Krita, right click on the icon of the task bar and click pin to the task bar
