Ch. 1: The Refuge
1 year later Artemis takes over meeting and making a mate out of a grey wolf named Clay. Opal went out scouting wich she rarely ever did, when she did she usally went with Thor, but he was trying to help Sylvie recover from a cold, he was a softie with her, even if he rarely showed it. Thor asked if Opal could go instead, and Opal nodded and crawled out of the den. She thought it was a good chance to check on Hazel who was sick, and couldn't move to the den Artemis showed. Maple of course was with her, worried. Opal went to the den they were staying in. "We may just decide to stay here," Maple said,"Of course your welcome to live in it when you want to...when you know, you feel like a threat to Artemis's pups. Opal nodded. Maple was hiding something from Opal, she of course wondered what was up, but she didn't dare ask. Opal, accidently wandered into Wolf territory, almost imedietly 7 wolves attacked her in all directions, she managed to escape for a short time, but they caught up and almost destroyed her, she played dead until they went away, Opal Got up and tried to put pressure on her left front paw but she stumbled, She whimpered a bit, then limped into her territory, the pack wolves noticed her and followed her, they stayed at the edge of their territory watching Opal stumble into the refuge of a den in her territory, they didn't dare go in for fear that her pack would come and plunder them. They snarled at Opal, waiting for her to make a move, she lay down and went to sleep. Soon it started to snow, and the pack wolves left to re enforce their territory and decided she is no threat to them.

Opal woke up her leg was still broken and hurt, she limped to her pack den, where her leader Artemis had a litter of 6 pups, she let Opal name one, she named him Macaroni. After a while her leg healed, but ever since the incident she had with the wolves, they saw more attacks from them, and Opal was scared of them, she always felt that preditors had it in for her.
Ch. 2: Retreaving Macaroni
Opal usaly is woken up by Macaroni's cold nose touching her neck, but this time she was awakened by a bigger cold nose that nugged her irrgently, at first she thought it was a warning for a attack, and woke up imeadietly alarmed. She then saw the worried face of Artemis. "Macaroni is missing." The worried mother exclaimed. Opal shook her head in shock. Macaroni is missing! "When did you last see him?" Opal asked trying to stay calm. "Uh, around 10 minutes ago, then I realized he wasn't there!" Artemis said tearfully. "I'll look for him." Opal said boldly. Opal went out of the den and started to sniff for Macaroni's scent, she found his scent along the river, he thankfully didn't go across, she tracked his scent down to a clearing. Macaroni ran towards Opal crying. "Opal! I-I thought Sylvie, or mom was following me! I wondered off, I told them I wanted to explore with them, Aspen and the others refused to follow, when I realized they weren't following I was completely, utterly lost! So I tried to follow the river and got more lost! Then I saw you and ran towards you." He explained Sobberly. Opal nodded and picked him up by the scruff and took him back to the den. Artemis's eyes lightened up when she saw, Opal emerging with Macaroni in Opal's mouth, by the scruff. Aspen an almost black wolf pup sat beside her and got up yipping with exitement. Artemis came over to Opal and carefully took Macaroni by the scruff. Artemis brought Macaroni into the den, followed by Aspen, and soon Opal. It started to softly rain, as the family went to sleep.
Ch. 3: Opal's fight
It was a cold, cloudy morning, the ground was wet from yesterday's rain, and the sky promised for some more rain later in the evening. Opal was laying awake. Macaroni was asleep in her paws. She smiled, he was very cute when he slept. Opal thought it was quite, too quite, the birds stopped chirping, and she heard squirrels scampering up their trees, and bunnys hopping into their burrows, they sounded afraid. Opal carefuly lifted her paws out from under Macaroni. She stepped lightly over the to where Artemis, Sylvie, Thor, and Artemis's mate (Clay) were sleeping. Before she woke them up she perked up her ears to her if a predator or more were nearbye. She heard pawsteps and knew they were under attack. "Artemis we're under attack! I hear pawsteps, light pawsteps, like stranger wolves!" Opal whispered in a warning tone. Artemis woke up, then Sylvie, then Thor, and finally Clay. "What's wrong?" Sylvie whispered her voice trembling. "An attack." Opal whispered low. "Sylvie, Clay you guys stay in the den and make sure they don't enter, Opal, Thor, your with me." Artemis whispered with authority. Opal and Thor followed Artemis out of the den, as quietly as possible. Almost on que 7 Juction wolves attacked them. Opal recononized 2 of the wolves, they were the same wolves that attacked her roughly 2 weeks ago! Opal charged at a white wolf, he was the one who broke her leg. "Remember me?!" She snarled and bit his hind leg and held on chomping hard. A black wolf came to help her packmate and trew Opal of for a bit. The wolf hurt one of Opal's front legs, but then Opal drove the wolf off, then went after the white one again, she drove him into the woods, and leeped opening her mouth and bit the packwolf's back of his neck, and held on, and chomped. The wolf broke Opals same paw that was broken before, but she didn't care. Opal knew the wolf couldn't handle much more, she had great joy knowing he would die. She forced her jaws down deeper, and heard a crush, a whine, then a flop. There was no more noise that came from the white wolf. Opal howled in victory. The 6 remaining Junction wolves heard this howl, and grew afraid, and retreated. Opal limped back to the den and nodded to Artemis who was laying down next to Sylvie, who was pressing cobwebs to prevent bleeding onto Artemis's wounds. Clay was reassuring the pups, that the attack was over and the Junction wolves were no longer here. Thor was off scouting making sure there were no Junction wolves were left in the territory, he also marked the territory that was weak. After Sylvie finished with Artemis, she helped set Opal's bone back in place, and tied a long grass leaf around Opal's paw to keep te bone in place. "It was still a little weak from the last time your leg broke, that's why they broke it easily, if only I wasn't sick when your leg first broke!" Sylvie exclaimed her silver fur bristling in the wind. Opal reassured Sylvie, and limped into the den to get some rest. Macaroni ran over to sleep next to her. After 2 weeks her leg finally healed, and Sylvie hoped it wasn't weak anymore and there was no more danger in braking it quickly.
Ch. 4: The Talk
Opal couldn't sleep that night. Macaroni slept peacefuly next to her. With tears she looked up, she wanted to somon Butterfly to talk to someone. Opal woke Artemis up. "What now?" Artemis whispered. "I'm going out, I just wanted to let you know." Opal whispered. Artemis nodded. Opal crawled out of the den. Macaroni ran out. "Y-you arn't leaving, are you?" Macaroni said skewing his ears to the side. "I-I don't know yet." Opal said looking up at the clouds, rain pattering her coat. "If you are I'M going with you!" Macaroni boldly said. "No You wouln't mister!" Opal barked. Macaroni sunk, he was never barked at by Opal. "I'm sorry Macaroni, but it's something between, me, and my half-sisters. "I have more aunts?" Macaroni said lifting his ears. "Teckneckly, yeah." Opal said she couldn't explain the whole thing he was to young she was around 5 months at least when she found out. Opal went back into the den with Macaroni shivering, as the rainwater seeped into her fur. Macaroni layed by her like he always did. Would Macaroni ever trust her again? Will Macaroni miss her if she left? She knew these answeres should be answered soon, but not now. Opal thought of her sister Nyome, and wondered what she was doing, she wondered what happened after she was swept away from the river, after all she was still not in spirit world. As Opal thought these she fell asleep listening to the rain paddering on the den.
Ch. 5: Disaster Hits the Den
It was still raining when they woke up that morning. It was sprinkelling a little bit. Opal crawled out of the den with Macaroni. Artemis came out with Aspen. "Aspen is a bit sick." Artemis said worriedly. "I think it might just be a cold." Opal said with hope. Sylvie came out of the den. "Ginger, Haley, Mitchel, and Caleb is also sick, Ginger may die she isn't very strong, I'm worried about Haley and Caleb too." Sylvie said skewing her ears to the side. "Opal, take Macaroni with you to Maple's and Hazel's den, he's the only one healthy." Artemis ordered. Opal nodded, and picked up Macaroni and headed over to the den. She didn't have too much trouble. "Maple, Hazel, any of you in there?" Opal asked tilting her head. "I'm here, Maple is sleeping." Hazel said, her eyes widened when she saw Macaroni. "Who is this?" She asked. "Macaroni, he's Artemis's pup, please take care of him, his siblings are ill, and he's the only healthy pup. Maple slowly came out of the den. Opal's eyes widened when she saw Maple's swolen belly. "Maple! Your pregnant!" Opal exclaimed. "Yes, I had an affair with a loner, he died, protecting me and his unborn pups from a bear though." Maple said skewing her ears to the side. "Maple, Opal was wondering if we could take care of Macaroni for a bit." Hazel said looking at her sister. "I'll be able to handle him, until my pups are born." Maple said nodding. "Send Hazel with him when your pups are born." Opal said calmly. Maple nodded. Opal left and went back to Artemis's den without Macaroni. "Oh, I thought you would stay with them." Artemis said. "You'll need help, You and Sylvie will have to take care of the pups, Thor scouts, and Clay would need to have some help hunting. "Well, we have a lot of other wolves who could scout." Thor said. "You of all wolves should know, at least one member of a den, should scout the territory." Opal said seriously. "Ugh, fine." Thor said rolling his eyes. "Opal, I guess you make a point, I guess you can stay." Artemis said. Opal's eyes lightened up. Opal motioned Clay to follow her to hunt. They took down a elk calf, and his mother. Opal ate it a bit and ate extra, because it's harder for sick pups to eat a full animal. Clay also ate extra and they ran to the den and fed the sick pups.
When they woke up Ginger's health was failing, Sylvie was around her feeding her herbs. Artemis was sitting close by worried for her sick pup. "She's going to live for a few hours, I'm sorry Artemis." Sylvie said getting up. "What about the herbs?" Artemis asked frightened. "They are just a hold over, the other herbs didn't work." Sylvie said shaking her head. Artemis layed down next to Ginger and wrapped her tail tearfully around the dying and sleeping pup. Opal motioned Clay to go and hunt more. They went out of the den and hunted down elk. They found a nice weak elk calf, and sprang at it. Suddenly the mother elk hit her hard hooves into Opal's head hard.
Her vision went away as she hit the ground everything went dark. Was she dead? No she couldn't be. But she was dreaming. A black wolf-like shadow figure kept disapating to one tree to another. Opal hadn't seen him yet but she heard him. "Wh-who's there?" She called. The shadow-wolf-creature responded with a tilt of the head. "Who are you?" Opal asked as the Creature came out in front of her, he was as black as the night and he was 5 foot tall. Another creature emerged, 2 of them, they were brilliant collors of blue, and white. One looked like a buck deer, and the other was a wolf with wings and a bushy tail, they were as big as the Shadow-wolf, and they looked like they weren't evil. "Tazar, get out of this area, you have NO place to be here." The brilliand blue/white wolf said her eyes glancing at Opal, her voice was like a sweet melody. "I have no place?" The Shodow-wolf asked his voice was gruff and hard," What about you Moonbeam?" "I have a place here, and even you know that Tazar!" The brilliant wolf growled. "What about Valoel?" Tazar asked his shadowlike fur shifting as his blood colored eyes looked at the brilliant colored Buck deer. "I have a place." The buck said annoyed, his voice sounded almost like harp music. Opal felt like she could hear these 2 talk all day. "Tazar, you know you can't mess with Opal." Moonbeam growled at him, as he approached Opal. "I can in the real world, what's the difference here?" Tazar growled back. So they had noticed her. "No you can't! UNLESS she trys to break the curse, but She will have spirits, and US to help her! You know that Tazar!" Moonbeam exclaimed her voice was sweet, but with a bit of violance in it. Tazar winced. "See you on the battle field, Moonbeam, Valoel, and of course you, Opal." He said slyly, and disapeared in the shadows. "We are sorry about him, demons are so aggresive, and love to put curses over places, there are only 3 remaining, that is why you have 2 others to help you." Moonbeam said turning to face her. Moonbeam was now the size of Opal. "Valoel, and I will often come to you, now that we know Tazar is hunting you down." Moonbeam says her voice so soothing. "Where are we?" Opal asked looking around, there was glowing mushrooms everywhere, and the grass had a dim, cool, green light, the sky was a dark blue lit up by all the white-blue stars in the sky, there were fireflys everywere. "We are in your spirit." Moonbeam said softly. "I'M DEAD???" Opal barked suprised. "No, you're just unconscience, and the spirit is where you dream." Moonbeam said laughing. Her laughing was like melody. Opal was unaware of what horribal danger she was really in. Valoel stared straight ahead. Moonbeam nodded. "Goodbye Opal, until next time." Moonbeam said her voice like music. the world around her started to vanish, she took it in like a warm embrace and soon the world was gone.
Her vision came back as she opened her eyes. "She's stirring!!" A slightly muffled voice exclaimed, Opal could tell it was Sylvie. Opal slowly got up, She had a sharp pain in her head. Opal almost fell, but Thor helped her up. Soon her hearing came back atnd sat down. "You lost A LOT of blood, I thought you wouldn't make it! But it was as if a greater power helped!" Sylvie exclaimed. "To bad that 'Greater Power' didn't save poor Ginger!" Artemis said bitterly. "Oh, sorry Artemis.." Sylvie said skewing her ears. Artemis was still wrapping her tail around Ginger, to make sure no one dared to take her out, and bury her like she ment nothing. Aspen crawled onto his mothers back with the other pups, all but Macaroni. Opal's clear amber eyes darkened with greif, Ginger dead, reminded her of Birch, she always blamed his death on her, she knew it was her fault, she hid this from her half-sisters and older siblings (Who were tecknicly half-siblings). Opal dizzyly approached Artemis and embraced her. "Artemis let her go, remember she no longer will suffer." Opal said softly. "I now know how you felt when Birch died Opal, I know you still blame yourself, I never expirienced it even when our other sister was taken by 'The Death Pack' I mourned a little bit but not much, then whenever 1 of my younger siblings died in your litter, I of course felt greif, but the only ones who caused me a lot of greif was Butterfly, and now Ginger, I blame myself for letting her die." Artemis sobbed. Opal nodded sadly she will of course greive over little Ginger even if she wasn't her favorite. Then her thought turned to Moonbeam and Valoel, and the demon Tazar. What would happen if Tzar didn't listen to Moonbeam? Was Tazar the one who killed her mom? Did he send someone to fight her and to warn Opal? Opal had to aske the last question to Thor who had a fight with whatever killed Stardust. But right now she had to rest and help her head heal.
While Opal was recoverying Caleb died, Opal felt it was her fault since everyone was worried about her. That same day later on, her head was good enough for her to go out and hunt. She crawled out of the den with Clay to go and hunt. C
Ch. 6: Leaving
One sunny day Hazel came bringing down Macaroni who was exited to see Opal again. He was jumping around, not aware Aspen and Haley were the only ones who was left. When Macaroni figured out that Aspen was all that was left, he might of felt like Opal when Butterfly died. "D-did you send me away knowing my siblings might all die?!" He demanded, he knew he shouldn't of trusted Opal. "I was comanded by your mom, she didn't want you to get ill, and Mitchel died of a wolf attack." Opal siad sadly. "YOU DON"T UNDERSTAND HOW IT IS TO HAVE ALL YOUR SIBLINGS ALMOST DEAD!" Macaroni cried. This hurt Opal, indead she did know this feeling. "Acually I do..." She whispered and looked down at the same river that swept Nyome away. She remembered she was quite relucted in them picking this den because of the river, it brought bad memorys of Nyome. Macaroni widen his eyes realizing he hit Opal HARD. Opal skewed her ears her eyes following the river to the Junction pack territory. Was Nyome being cared for as a pup of the Junction pack? She often wondered this. Macaroni read Opal's face trying to see what it ment, all he could tell is that Opal was in deap thought, and loathed this river. He wondered why, but he now knew Opal was sensitive on this subject. He was afraid Opal would leave. Then he remembered when they last talked about that subject, she would leave, whithout him. That night Opal argued with Artemis for her to go. "I'm going Artemis and that is it! End of discussion!" Opal exclaimed, Artemis realized there was no fighting her on this one. "Be careful." Artemis whispered. Opal nodded and crawled out. Macaroni heard the discussion and ran out after her. "I'm coming with you!" He exclaimed. "NO! This is to PROTECT you!" Opal howled. Macaroni sunk, he wanted to go with her. "W-well at least visit." Macaroni said his voice shaking. Opal nodded, and led Macaroni into the den, they bade each other farewell. Opal recalled what Maple had said to her, and decided to accept her invite.
Ch. 7: The Arrival
Opal went on her way, she looked at the den until she no longer saw it. As she walked she looked at the river, it hurt her to leave it, it was like leaving Nyome. She looked away and skewed her ears, and put her tail in between her legs as she walked. She was close to the place where they crossed in the rainstorm almost a year ago. The den further up the hill pass the narrow part of the river, is where Beach was taken by "The Death Pack". Opal couldn't stop the feeling of dread. She tried to enjoy the trip, her only friend was the moon. She wished she wasn't alone, remembering Tazar, who may hunt her down, taking this as his chance. She hoped he wasn't out today. She heard a twig break. She looked around, it was just a bunny. Opal hunted it down, and scarfed it down. She didn't notice until now how hungry she was. She still felt like she was being wached as she continued her journey. It was night, the time Tazar would surely be about. Suddenly the bright figures of Moonbeam and Voloel apeared. "We know your fear, we are here to make sure he doesn't dare mess with you." Voloel siad his voice like music. "Tazar we know your out there." Moonbeam called out her voice like melody with a tune of aggresiveness. Opal noticed that Voloel was the size of a buck deer, and Moonbeam was the size of a wolf. Would Tazar be the size of a wolf or as big as he was the last time she saw him. Opal saw Tazar's blood red eyes glowing in front of her. Tazar came closer. Opal was releived that he was the size of a wolf. "What? I was just watching her..." Tazar said his gruff and hard voice troubling Opal. "We all know that's not true." Moonbeam responded, Her wings were folded, but they twiched with unease. Tazar looked at Opal's trembling face as she remembered her mother. "You want answeres on your mother eh?" Tazar asked micheif in his eyes. Opal would like nothing more, but she did not dare speak. Tazar noticed this and was upset she wouldn't speak. "Well would you like to know? Or not?" Tazar asked impatient. Opal did not know if she wanted too, but she nodded. Tazar was mad that she didn't speak. "You see I sent one of my messangers one night to send the messange however he'd like, of course I suggested to kill her mom, and he did just that, and took the amulet, But your dumb brother killed him and took back the amulet and gave it to you." Tazar said angering Opal. "Get the fluff out of here Tazar!" Moonbeam growled. Tazar disapeared in the darkness. Moonbeam, Voloel, and Opal, didn't talk the rest of the way. "Goodbye Opal, until next time." Moonbeam said disapearing with Voloel when they arrived at the den. "Farewell." Opal whispered. "Maple, Hazel, I'm here, it's me Opal." Opal called into the den. She heard whispering and pups snoring. Hazel popped her head out. "Come on in but be quiet." Hazel whispered and disapeared back into the den. Opal followed her in. 4 pups were sleeping next to Maple, who wrapped her tail lovingly around them. "What are their names?" Opal whispered despretly. "Mage, Tree, Shrub are the males, and the female is Brownie." Maple whispered. Opal smiled and curled up next to Hazel and fell asleep. 'It's good to be here.' Was Opal's last thought.
Ch. 8: Rogue Wolf Attack
Opal woke up. She slowly got up, her head still hurt a bit. Brownie the female pup looked much like her mother with dark brown fur and some light brown here and there, she has a silver streak down her back and 2 lines on her snout on the side, her eyes were green must be from her dad or some ancestor. Mage had dark brown fur around his right eye, and several other areas, everywere else was a silvery-grey color, he had brown eyes with a greyish tint. Tree must look mostly like his dead father, a grey/silvery coat, and pale blue eyes, Shrub looked like Tree but he had green/blue eyes instead. As Opal exaimend them, they looked boldly up at her, like their mother Opal reflected. Hazel rounded them up giving them a littele check-up. Hazel let them off. The pups decided they liked Opal, and crawled over to her. She was unconfortable it was suddenly quiet. Opal carefuly walked over to Maple. "it's quiet.......too quiet." Opal whispered. The pups tilted their heads trying to listen. Maple motiened Opal to follow her out of the den. The 4 pups tried to follow, but Hazel blocked their path. They sat down disapointed. Opal heard pawsteps and saw one jump on Maple. Opal looked around thinking what she should do. There was only one wolf this attack. Opal tore him off of Maple. Opal flung him into the tree and heard him yelp. Without checking if Maple was ok she lunged herself at the attacker and drived her teeth into his flesh. She killed him after he ran a bit. Opal ran over to Maple. "Are you ok?" She managed to ask. "Yes." Maple grunted and limped into the den. Opal sniffed the wolf, he wasn't from any territory near here, he reeked of death, and deseise. 'He's from Amethyst!' Opal realized. Opal dug a big hole and dropped him in and covered the hole. She didn't want to smell deseise as much as anyone. Opal sulkly went into the den, she knew this poor wolf lost his family from the deseise, but he was going after Maple's pups AND THEIR territory. As Opal entered the den she flopped down, she was tierd. She took a bit of a nap.
Ch. 9: Unexpected Run in
Opal crawled out of the den forcing Maple's pups back. Opal had to scout WITHOUT pups. Opal stalked away looking back making sure no wolves were following, the last time she scouted she was plundered by wolves. She ran into some coyotes but she didn't really care about them. Opal stared at the sky. She decided this was her chance to visit Artemis. She slowly went to Artemis's den. A red fox passed by and ran off scared of Opal. Opal arrived at Artemis's ded, and found out that Thor was away scouting, Sylvie was away collecting herbs, and Clay was out hunting. Artemis was startelled when Opal came in without warning. Macaroni had a big smile and ran to her excited. Opal told the news she had to Artemis about Maple being a mom to 4 beautiful pups. While Opal layed down, Macaroni layed close to her treasuring this moment. Aspen and Haley were playing with each other. Opal didn't want to go but she had to finish her scouting, and hunt a bit. Opal bade farewell and crawled out. She hunted a Doe and ate a little extra for the 4 pups, and went back to the den just to feed them. Opal went out to finish her scouting. She went near the Junction Pack Territory to mark some territory. She realized most of the wolves she encountered were Rouge wolves seeking territory. These wolves were more dangerous then Junction Butte, Crevice lake, or Oxbow, they are more dangerous because they are trying to take territory, and No-wolf knows them, Although they may be pitied losing their packs in Lost River, or Amethyst Mountain. Opal smelled a strange smell, but it was a little fermillier. She smelled longer it was a female she had Junction Pack scent but deeper down it was warm like something she smelled long ago. The scent led her away from "The Junction Pack" and into "The Sky Pack" Territory. She came across the wolf. She whas Brown with Vanilla swirls, and she had clear brown eyes! Only one wolf in the world looked like that! It was Nyome! Opal carefuly aproached her. "Nyome!" She cried excited. Nyome jumped at the sudden noise, but she was indeed Nyome. "Who are you?" She asked suddenly frightened. "It's me Opal." Opal answered wagging her tail. "O....Opal." Nyome said as if trying to remember something. "I'm your sister, we had another sister, Butterfly, and 4 brothers, Birch, Bear, Beach, and Daniel." Opal said lowering her head. "I'm sorry I forgot certain things after I was swept away," Nyome said Skewing her ears to the side,"2 Old wolves took me in and raised me, and asked if I remembered anything, she said maybe I could find something that would help me remember, can you take me to the den we were raised in?" Opal knew she wasn't kidding. "Uhhh, yeah follow me." Opal answered taking her to the old den, that she was raised in that had much death in it, but it was still home. Nyome touched the den and went in, she saw the ingravement that she and Sylvie did almost a year ago. Nyome layed her paw on it and had a memory,
Opal was out playing with her siblings, while Sylvie and Nyome were out collecting herbs. "We should put an engravement in the den!" Nyome suggested while they were going back. Sylvie nodded and trodded off. Nyome picked up her herbs and followed her older sister. Sylvie put the herbs in the herb pile followed by Nyome. Then they went to the little corner they hung out, they put the ingravement on the wall.
Opal saw the recognition in Nyome's eyes. "I-is Sylvie still alive?" Nyome asked worriedly looking at Opal with fear. Opal nodded. Nyome sighed in relief. As they went out Nyome remembered everything, and some of Opal's memorys were recalled. There were several, "Do you remember?" questions as Opal led Nyome to Artemis's den. Nyome was worried. 'What if Sylvie is sick.........or worse DEAD!' Nyome thought with fear. "Ok hide here it has to be a suprise." Opal said helping Nyome hide in some underbrush. Nyome nodded nervously. Opal crawled into the den. "What, now Opal?" Artemis asked. "I have something to show you, Thor, AND Sylvie, Clay can stay with the pups." Opal panted. The three nodded and crawled out of the den after Opal leaving Clay looked around completely dumbfound. The 3 pups swarmed him. Opal showed them to the underbrush. "Yeah, I've seen that a million times Opal." Artemis laughed. "No, the thing is in the bushes." Opal said. "Ready?" Opal whispered to Nyome making sure her older siblings didn't hear her. The 3 older siblings tilted their heads waiting. Opal slid back the bushes, and revealed Nyome sitting star-eyed. Sylvie cried with happyness. She ran to her and snuggled her, she laughed and cried. Opal made her siblings so happy that day. Nyome decided to live with them and continue to learn medicine, she learned some from the Junction Wolves and taught that to Sylvie. Opal was a little sorry she had to go, because it was like her sister was rose back to life!
Ch. 10: Mist and Greif
Opal was in the den with Hazel, Maple, and Maple's pups. Outside was filled with mist. Opal knew what it was, but she didn't want to say it outloud. Brownie was playing with Opal's tail. Shrub, Tree, and Mage were playing with each other, unaware of what was about to happen. Maple tenced up and Picked up Mage and Shrub and took them over to the spot she was laying and curled up dropping them and wrapping her tail around them protectivly. Tree went over to Hazel and layed next to her. Hazel wrapped her tail around him. Opal wrapped her tail around Brownie. They all were tensed up. Brownie peaked her head over Opal's fluffy tail. Shrub and Mage peaked their heads over Maple's tail looking out at Brownie. Tree curled up when Hazel was wrapping her tail around him. A shadow was seen outside the den. Maple was more tense than she was ever. A white wolf with spots of black came in her fur was gostly, she was once apon a time a wolf pup taken at a young age and was influenced into doing "The Death Pack" Evil bidding. She stepped over to Maple. She flung her away so she could scoop up a pup. She went for Shrub and scooped him up and left. Maple was in tears she was flung into the wall and Shrub was taken. They could hear Shrub's crys for help. Opal got up and jumped at the wolf. This wolf swung her of, making Opal land on top of Maple. The wolf disappeared into the mist. There were howls of greif at the den, and at other packs, and other members. Opal was scared when she would come to Artemis's den, Macaroni would be gone.
Ch. 11: Bear Attack
Opal got up slowly. Her back still slightly hurt after being flung into Maple. Today was the first day the pups will go outside, they can't eat flesh yet though. Opal crawled out of the den. Brownie, Tree, and Mage were playing together, they were playing Stranger Wolves. Opal skewed her ears to the side and remembered how Birch died when they were playing Stranger Wolves. Opal looked at the sky, one of the clouds looked like a bunny. Brownie pounced on Mage. "Your dead now." Brownie yelled. Mage pushed her off and went to sit out by Opal. "Did you every play Stranger wolves? Aunt Opal?" Mage asked curiously. The memories came back, most were good, but the last time was bad. "Every day...." Opal said trying not to let him hear a crack in her voice. Opal layed on her back watching the clouds. She often did this after Butterfly died. "What's wrong?" Mage asked laying on his back next to her. "Oh, nothing." Opal said staring at the clouds. "That cloud looks like a duck." Mage pointed out. "Yeah, it does." Opal said smiling. She looked at his face. Mage looked at the sky determinded to keep Opal happy. "Hey that one looks kinda like you!" He exclaimed. Opal looked up at the cloud he was talking about. He was right it did look like her. Opal got up and sat down. Mage sat up too. "That rock looks like a bunny." Mage said. "It kinda does." Opal said smiling. She didn't notice how quiet it was. Brownie heard them and walked over with Tree. "That rock looks like a bear." Brownie said pointing her paw in the direction of a big giant grizzly bear! "That's not a rock!" Opal exclaimed helping the pups into the den. Tree wouldn't listen he was frozen, his prideness getting in the way. Opal tried to push him into the den, but Tree broke out into a run towards the bear. He bit the bear's hind leg and held on. The bear flung him of snarling. Tree ran hard into a tree and yelped. The bear started to go after him, but Opal got in the way fighting it. The bear pushed Opal out of his way and went to Tree. He scooped Tree up. Tree was squrming and yelling for help. Opal looked around and picked up a big branch. She made sure it had a point and rammed it into the bear, it only badly hurt him. The bear crunched down on Tree, and Tree yelped, and went limp. Opal was blinded by tears, Maple TRUSTED her, and she let her DOWN! Opal picked the branch back up and drived it into the bear's chest, and pushed harder and harder. The bear bolted away tossing the branch. He was wounded badly. Opal tearfuly picked up Tree's limp body and hurried to the den. Maple and Hazel were there waiting for her. When Maple saw Tree, and Opal's sad expression, she bolted over and took his dead body from him. She partly blamed Opal, partly blamed herself, and partly blamed the bear. Opal skewed her ears to the side and limped into the den. Her paw ached, but Hazel said it was just sprained.
Ch, 12: Tornado
Opal worriedly looked at the sky. It was very dark just a few minutes ago it was a blue sky with creamy clouds. Opal was planing on going to Artemis's den today and seeing how they were doing. Based on earlier she thought she would be able to go today, but the clouds now told otherwise. Opal rounded up the pups to go inside as it started to rain. A lightning bolt struck very close and was very loud. It left Opal's ears ringing. Opal curled up next to Hazel keeping the cold out. Hazel smiled at Opal. Maple was curled up further away, wrapping her tail around the scared remaining pups. Maple was still angered at the death of Tree, she felt like she couldn't trust either of her sisters. Opal was saddened by the mistrust, and wished to be with her siiblings Artemis, Thor, Sylvie, and rediscoverd Nyome, She also missed Clay a bit. Opal stalked to the opening of the den and stared out, watching squirrles scamper up their trees, and bunnys hopping into their burrows. She saw a few deer scatering after a bolt of lightning struck in the middle of them, they hid in some thicket, scared lightning would strike them down. Opal thought of how delicious a deer would be right now but shook her head. As Opal stared out at the sky. A funnel cloud appeared growing in size stretching down hitting the ground. This was a bit away but Opal could feel it going closer and closer. Opal warned her family and they hid in a corner. Of course they should be save since they were uphill and in the den, which had rocks over, but of course, they were tecknicly in a ditch. The tornado brought some distruction not as much as it could of done, before it disapeared. Tornados were acualy a little rare in this area. 'Could, this of been a warning from Tazar?' Opal thought, than shook her head. The storm took a bit longer after the tornado was gone, lightning stroke a few times than stopped, leaving soft rain padering on the den's roof. Opal curled up by Hazel and fell asleep listening to the rain.
Ch.13: Oxbow has it's Fight
Opal crawled out of the den yawning and stretching. The sky was blue with creamy cirus clouds in the sky. Opal nodded content. She knew it was time for her to Patrol the territory. 'Not many scouts yesterday.' Opal thought. As Opal started to patrol the territory, she ran into something shining in the shrubs. Her curiousity won and she stalked to see it. It was a human item. They weren't to rare, but this looked like a rare find. It was a phone, with a smashed screen. It was a smartphone, samsung. Opal messed with it, and accidently turned it on. As it turned on it said SAMSUNG and was glowing and fading for a few minutes. The words came together and it showed the lockscreen. The lockscreen's picture was a man with black hair he had brown hair, he was wearing a black short sleeved shirt and shorts, he was putting his around a woman a bit shorter than him, who had dark brown locks of hair, with Hazel eyes, with a shirt that said "Victoria falls" behind the text were several waterfalls with blue water, the surronding of the shirt was a dark blue color, she wore black pants that reached her knees and a skirt that was a little darker than the shirt with waves. Her hands were on the shoulders of a young girl around 6. Her front 2 teeth were missing, and she was closeing her eyes tight, smiling showing off her no front teeth. Her hair was golden-blond in 2 thin strips of strait piggytails. Opal thought the little girl looked much like her mom. Opal swipped to the side, and it showed the homescreen. Their was a messanger app that had the number 89 with white letters surrounded by red. The gmail app had 1,785 on it, YouTube had 417 on the corner, and there was a lot more. Opal accidently pressed the photo gallery which had multipul pictures of the little girl, the lady, and the man. the further she scrolled up the paler the lady was, and the sadder the child and man were, soon there was no mom. the next picture was of the storm from yesterday. Then there was a video of looking at the tornado than it rolled onto the floor into the shrubs, broke and turned off. Opal wondered what happened to the humans. The phone died and Opal carried it around, while she was scouting. When Opal was done scouting she visited Artemis's den. With releif Macaroni was still there. It was Haley who was taken. Macaroni's eyes sparkeled as she saw Opal. Nyome greated her with a smile. Sylvie looked over her worried, because of the storm. As they settled down they talked of news. "I found this magic box, it died thought." Opal said setting the phone on the floor. Nyome looked at it with great intrest. "Opal, after Haley was taken, Macaroni wasn't the same, and when he saw you he cheered up, if you don't mind will you take him with you for a bit, or visit regularly?" Artemis asked concerned. "I will try to visit regularly."Opal promised as she was leaving. Opal crawled out of the den, she left the "Magic Box" with Nyome. She started to go to Maple's den. All was quite, Opal was worried. She hurried to the den and found 3 Oxbow males attacking the den. 1 was overwellming Hazel, while 2 were overwelming Maple. Maple snarled at them trying to break free. Opal helped Hazel first, flining off the Oxbow male who was on her, making him run into one of the other ones who were on Maple. The 2 males ran hard into a tree, and got mad at each other. "Watch where you get flinged!" One of them snarled. Opal and Hazel flung off the last male who was hurting Maple, into the other males. They all started to scratch up each other. The three girls were speachless. 'Is this why Oxbow never attacked us?' Opal thought. "I guess." Hazel said outloud. "What do you mean you guess?" Opal asked confused. "You said 'Is this why Oxbow never attacked us' and I replied saying,' I guess.'" Hazel answered. "But I THOUGHT that, I didn't say it outload." Opal said staring into Hazel's eyes. They realized they could read each others minds! Opal chased the Oxbow wolves off, they did the most harm to each other. Opal heard them say,"We'll just tell them they were strong." Opal laughed hearing this. Maple was quiet Mage and Brownie came out. The played with Opal and Hazel. Hazel had a deep cut on her face that scared. Her flat ear had some fur ripped off, but it would regrow. Maple had a notch in the side of her left ear that scared.
Ch. 14: Sickness
Maple woke up ill along with Mage. Opal was worried it was the same thing that Ginger, Butterfly, and the others had. Maple wasn't dangurously ill, but Mage was. Maple ordered Opal and Hazel to take Brownie who wasn't sick to Artemis's den. Opal thought Maple probelly thought that Artemis owed her. Opal took Brownie with Hazel to Artemis's den. They ran into a few Coyotes, but they didn't like the size of Brownie. The coyotes ran off. They soon arrived at the den. Brownie was around 5 monthes, and Macaroni and Aspen was around 8 monthes. Macaroni greated Opal with stary eyes. He looked at Hazel and saw the scratch and was worried. When they broughed Brownie in the den and explained what they were doing Artemis nodded and let Brownie stay for a bit. Aspen gloated over his age to Brownie as much as he could. Brownie cared nothing for him. Brownie chummed up with Macaroni. Opal and Hazel left soon, and headed back. Mage's health was failing. but Mage got a little better in the day.
A few days after, Tree's health was failing drastically. Hazel worried over him feeding him medicine that should help, but it only helped him live a little longer. Opal went to the den to get Sylvie and Nyome to help. The never saw it so bad, but helped as much as possible. Maple's health started to fail. Sylvie helped Maple with succes, but Maple still felt horrible. Opal tried to comfort her.
Mage died one day 3 days after Sylvie and Nyome were helping them. Sylvie and Nyome left upset they couldn't save the poor soul. Opal went and got Brownie and took her back. Brownie was greatly upset when she found out she was the last who was alive in the litter.
