The previous video shows how in GRID Legends, drifting around tight turns is faster. In this video, I've delved a little further into other tracks, cars and weather conditions.

While now the lines get a bit more blurry, especially with the Porsche 911 RSR GT2, the grip tires have when skidding is still far too high.
For example, the first hairpin on the first example with this car shows how different the entry speeds can be and how there was basically no time loss.

Rain and snow seem to decrease the general traction a little bit, but not a whole lot. Differences between rain and snow seem to be inexistent or way too small to need a new approach for the lines you should take.

FWD cars appear to never benefit from drifting.

To quickly sum it all up, drifting tight turns seems to still be beneficial while long drawn out drifts should be avoided.
Wheelspin when exiting a turn, and/or when going in a straight line, seems to have no negative effect on the car's speed or stability.
Tapping the handbrake to combat understeer can also work in many cars.

What I want to show with these videos is how this game promotes dirty driving by allowing players to "divebomb" others and still get away with it with a quick pull of the handbrake.
This way of driving ranges from being faster to losing very little time in the right turns, potentially causing issues on the race track since corner entry speeds may vary a lot.

Again, a general decrease in the skidding grip across the board would fix these issues.
This seems to be by design, but I would argue that it isn't the best choice.
