Hello everyone!
Here's a quick guide to Super Nano Blaster's scoring system, to help you reach the top of the leaderboard, and provide you with some tips to improve your skills.

The Orbs
To put it simply, collect as many white orbs as possible! Each Orb collected increase your score.

The score given by these orbs depends on the difficulty level you are playing on:
  • Easy : X1
  • Normal : X2
  • Hard : X10
  • Expert : X100
  • Black Hole : X1000

You will have to play on Black Hole difficulty if you want to reach the top of the leaderboard.

Other mecanics can also help you increase your score...
The Combos
If you manage to quickly chain kills (less than 1 second between enemies to be precise), a multiplier appears on enemy's death(X2, X3, X4 etc...).

This multiplier increases the number of orbs given by each enemies. There is no limit to it.

The number of orbs dropped by enemies is: the mob's hitpoints x the combo multiplier

Knowing that, it is more efficient to save the tougher enemies for last.
A good strategy is to weaken this enemies and deliver the killing blow at the end of the combo.

The number of orbs dropped does not take hit points into account against bosses.
The Perfect
To get a perfect, you need to go from one checkpoint to another without dying.
The X2 indicator remains visible as long as the perfect is active.

Achieving the perfect doubles the score obtained since the last checkpoint. So basically,
not dying = more score.

The Time Bonus
This bonus only concerns the boss at the end of the level,
The faster you kill the boss, the higher the Time Bonus will be.
Its value is visible under the boss life bar.

Note that the time bonus does not reset on death,
the more you die, the lower the bonus will be. So again, not dying = more score.

The Overclock
The OverClock is not a scoring mechanic per se, but allows you to achieve huge combos.

Quickly killing enemies, similary to combos, increases the overclock gauge.

The overclock gauge decreases over time, except once it is completely filled.
Once filled, the gauge turn blue and you can trigger the overclock, giving you access to an overpowered attack that lasts for 4 seconds.

There is also an advanced technique to fill the overclock, it is called the "Perfect Switch".
If you manage to make a Switch just before an enemy bullet hits you, a flash appears,
it's the Perfect Switch.

The Perfect Switch fills the overclock gauge, but can also makes the overclock last longer.

"Perfect Switching" while the overclock is active allows you to extend the overclock and achieve bigger combos, but it's very risky...
Conclusion
To summarize, if you want to maximize your score:
  • Kill enemies fast
  • Do not die
  • Eliminate bosses as quickly as possible
  • And catch as many orbs as possible!

See you on the leaderboard!
