All Glitched Seeds - Seed Hub (v0.3.8)
Master_64 ve 1 yapıt ortağı tarafından hazırlandı
Ever wanted to check out a glitched seed and see how it looks, but then realized there's not a single guide that contains all the glitched seeds in the game currently known about? Well, here you go.

All seeds shown here work on: v0.3.5, v0.3.6, v0.3.7, v0.3.8

This guide will be updated when more glitched seeds (or other kinds of seeds) are found and are commented below. If you know a glitched seed that isn't here, or some other sort of weird seed, please comment it below.

Why aren't there a glitched seeds guide for 0.4+ and above?
Short answer: because there aren't any glitched seeds and we lack motivation.

So, these guides were made with the purpose of revealing the deep hole of glitched seeds BB+ had before 0.4, but since 0.4 was released, the generator has patched pretty much any potential issue that could happen before - there are a few technical exceptions like OOB rooms, but these are very unlikely to happen -, which doesn't give a good reason to keep up the guide as the main purpose of glitched seeds is gone (and let's be honest, hunting for uncommon seeds is not as fun as finding rare seeds with less amount of notebooks than the intended).

Another reason to not make a new guide is the lack of motivation from the team, as most of the rarest seeds in the page were found by jackson003, he was the only member of the team that has been active during 0.3.8 to find glitched seeds, sometimes PixelGuy and Master64 were hunting too, but not in the same rate as him (we still appreciate his hard work to find impressive seeds such as 0/0 in F1).
Glitched Seed Explanation
This anomaly in seeds can occur if both conditions below are satisfied (in order):
  1. All faculty rooms do not connect to any hallway
  2. A classroom spawns not connecting to any hallway (any floor other than F1 will usually lose the first placeholder room due to the mystery room overwriting an existing room. Any seed without a deleted placeholder room is tagged as an APR seed {APR stands for all placeholder rooms; see below for chances})

Under normal circumstances, a classroom cannot spawn connecting to no hallways, but due to a bug in the code, the classroom can spawn in all spots when no faculty rooms are in any hallway. If the classroom happens to spawn without connecting to a hallway, since the game isn't allowed to place a classroom like this, it decides to not decorate the room, making it a placeholder room (all rooms are placeholder rooms until being decorated as the next part of the level generation process).

The chances of finding a seed with any anomaly like this: while not quite possible to pinpoint an exact number, is a rare chance. See below for estimated chances.
The reason for such a high chance is because you need all requirements below:

Fun facts about (glitched) seeds
  • For F1 & END seeds, you can change it from positive to negative (or vise versa) and the F1/END will remain the same, while the F2 and F3 will change. This means that F1&END only has half of the maximum possible seeds when compared to F2 and F3
  • For F2 and F3 seeds, they have something called a "Seed Offset." It's used to offset the seed value for various purposes. The offset value for F2 is 2 and the offset value for F3 is 4. If you invert a seed, then apply the offset (add the offset and make it negative or not based on the seed's inverted value), you'll get a seed with the same layout, but different room placements. This means that seed 100 on F3 and seed -104 on F3 would have the same layout, but different room positions. These are called mirror seeds.
  • It's technically possible to get a 0/0 notebook seed on any floor, 733583186 (0/0 F1) is the best (and only) example of a 0/0, if the seed is played on a floor with only 1 elevator (F1, or 1/4 elevator F3 seeds), it would skip the level instantly (0:00 on the timer), if the level has more than 1 elevator, you'll be definitely softlocked on the map
  • Almost all known glitched seeds have the playground as the big room due to the fact that they're almost always bigger than a cafeteria or a library, which are limited to be smaller
  • The seed range limit is between -2,147,483,615 and 2,147,483,615 (including 0 [-0 doesn't work]), making a total of 4,294,967,231 possible seeds
  • You, the reader, will likely find a glitched seed before 30 hours of total playtime
  • It's estimated that (for F1) ~4.6k seeds contain only 0/1 notebooks and only ~10 seeds contain 0 notebooks
  • All F3's with a cafeteria as a big room will always have an elevator in it
  • An elevator will never spawn in a library or a playground
  • F1 has 4-5 faculty, F2 has 4-6 faculty, F3 has 6-8 faculty and END has 4-6 faculty. Keep in mind that the chances are weighted to be generally in the middle of the number ranges.
  • The minimum room size is 4x5 and the maximum room size is 7x8, although rooms commonly get squished on one axis, which can result in rooms going as low as 2x4-7
  • It's possible for an elevator (only on F3) or field trip (only on F2) to not spawn if one side of the floor has no space for it to spawn and it decides to spawn on that side.
  • A detention room can become a placeholder room in the virtually impossible case that not only do all classrooms not connect to a hallway, but the detention room also doesn't connect to a hallway. This means that you can have up to a maximum of 10 placeholder rooms (on F3).
Full Seed List/Archive

Due to the arbitrary character limit Steam puts on guides (being only 8k), every single known glitched seed (every single seed that is glitched (plus glitchless), uncommon, easy and hard) can be found on this list: Link[drive.google.com]

The list of all the unique legendary glitched seeds can be seen down below. A unique legendary glitched seed is classified as a seed that roughly has the rarity of about 1/1,000,000 and not many are known to exist.

Fun fact: there's 110k+ glitched seeds discovered and documented on the list in the link above.
Legendary Glitched Seeds

These seeds are considered legendary because they are so rare that it's very likely no more will be found similar to them. This list is curated, meaning it does not contain every known legendary seed (they are all contained within the full seed list/archive).

Impossible Seeds - 100+ in total
These are the only seeds known that are quite literally impossible to complete. The crash variants of these seeds are considered to be extremely rare, and the chances for the out of bounds big room are also extremely rare, but not as much as the crash variants.

Most of the seeds below say that they will crash the level generator! What this means for anyone attempting to load this seed on this floor is that your entire game will softlock until you force-quit the game.

What constitutes as impossible:
a. A floor cannot be beaten without the special use of items, events or characters
b. A floor causes a level generator crash

Exceptions for non-crash seeds:
1. A dangerous teleporter allowing the player to access all 4 elevators, but this is very luck-dependent
2. A portal poster allowing the player to access a blocked off big room (usually possible)
3. Art's warp bypassing a big room blockage (does not work for big rooms being out of bounds)
4. A flood event teleporting the player into the big room (only works if seed queues that event and it's not on Floor 3, since Floor 3 never queues a flood event)

Crash explanation(s):
Hallway Crash (1/715,000 for F3) = Level generator crash (or technically an infinite loop) due to a hallway being forced to cross through a big room. The method in which this occurs is typically as follows: the floor first needs to be cut in half (which for F3, is extremely rare). When this happens, you then need the big room that exists in the map to NOT be in the corner of the map, as well as it having the exact width of the rest of the map. If this occurs, you'll get 2 networks of hallways instead of just 1. When this occurs, the game runs a loop to connect these 2 networks of hallways, however, if a big room is in between 2 networks of hallways and it cannot go around it, then the game is forced to place a hallway through a big room. Since this is not possible, the loop never ends and the game softlocks forever.

Elevator Crash = Level generator crash due to an elevator running out of possible spots to spawn. The method in which this occurs is as follows: the floor must contain a cafeteria as the big room (this is crucial since the elevator must be forced to spawn in the big room), then you need the first elevator that spawns on the side that the big room is on to only be accessible via a 2 tile gap in a hallway (the reason you need this is because the check for whether an elevator spawns in a big room is just that it needs to find a big room tile, then have the touching tiles to be big room tiles). Once this check is good, we now have an instance of only 1 possible spawn for an elevator. Next, the base elevator check is checked... and fails since a hallway is behind where it would spawn. When this fails, it removes the potential elevator spot from a list... and then the level generator crashes since it has no possible spots for the elevator. Normally when an elevator can't spawn, it just doesn't spawn the elevator and works on the rest of the elevators, but since it returned an empty list inside a loop it runs while doing these elevator checks, it gets stuck in the loop forever, causing a crash before the elevator can be removed.

Mystery Room Crash:
1st Variant = Level generator crash due to a mystery room failing to locate a room that doesn't connect to any room. For this to occur, you must have all rooms be connected with another room, since the mystery room event is set to only find rooms that aren't connected to any other room. When this occurs, the game gives a Null Exception for failing on finding a suitable room to make a mystery room. It's very likely to happen in seeds with very low amount of notebooks (glitched seeds), such as 0/3 F2/END/F3 APR.

2nd Variant = Mystery Room crashes the generator due to trying to replace a door that wasn't added by the room itself. In order for this to occur, you must first find an OOB bigroom seed, then there must be at least 1 room connecting to a hallway and touching the bigroom, then have that room be assigned as a mystery room. When this happens, during the door generation phase, the bigroom will forcefully connect to the mystery room, and since a mystery room can't replace a door from another room, the generator gets stuck trying to convert/hide the door and crashes.

There will be highlighted only 2 seeds of each kind, if you want to see all impossible seeds, check out the full list[drive.google.com]

Out of Bound Big Room Seeds - 50+ in total
These seeds below have a big room that's out of bounds on F3. These seeds are extremely rare, and for the most part, all of these seeds play out as you'd expect... you just don't have a big room in the map that's normally accessible.

There will be only 3 highlighted seeds of each kind with their own unique details (such as 2 swinging doors and etc.), if you want to see all OOB Bigroom Seeds, check out the full list[drive.google.com]

FAQ
Q: How have you calculated the probability of getting a glitched seed?
A: The very first day I stumbled upon a glitched seed myself, I started to log how many times I loaded into F1 and got very interested in how rare these seeds actually are. Since then, I've almost always logged how many times I've entered all floors, as well as how many seeds I've personally found that are glitched. Using that information, I can simply divide the amount of total attempts by the amount of glitched seeds I've found (as well as what type it was).

Q: When you say data points, what specifically are you referring to?
A: A data point is every single time a floor is generated and then analyzed to see if it's glitched or not.

Q: Why do faculty rooms sometimes spawn out of bounds?
A: There's not a 100% straight answer, but the most accepted one is: requires at least one of the rooms to not be able to connect directly with the bigroom, having the met conditions, we are only left with the phase to generate doors, which happens after the rooms spawns. On this phase, the selection of rooms is random, which means, there's a small chance that if a room connects inside the room that isn't connected directly to the bigroom, the room become out of bound since it can't force generate a second door to the bigroom due to also being considered a room, the only way to not be out of bound is if a second randomized door happens to generate on the room (it's 1/100 chance)

Q: How many hours have you put into just glitched seed hunting?
A: I'm honestly not 100% sure, but it's at least over 1,000 hours.

Q: How do you have so many hours in BB+?
A: An immense amount of dedication and curiosity for how many weird seeds exist and how many I can find by myself, alongside speedrunning.

Q: Do you get excited when you find a glitched seed anymore? Seems like you've found too many at this point.
A: Only if it's a 0/0 F1, a 0/2 F2 or a 0/0 F3.

Q: How many hours have you put into this guide?
A: Just as I said with how many hours I've put into glitched seed hunting, at least over 1,000 hours. That's not to suggest I spent 1,000 hours alone working on this guide, rather that I work on this guide and glitch hunt at about the same time (switching back and forth).

Q: I'm personally hunting for some glitched seeds of my own, but can't find any. Do you have any tips?
A: The only thing I can really say is to focus only on F1 and nothing else. Keep restarting and restarting until you see a 0/3 appear (since it likely won't be any lower). If you're constantly resetting, you should get one within 3 hours.

Q: How can you claim that a seed is particularly hard or particularly easy (within the seed archive)?
A: Whether you choose to believe me or not, I can look at a map layout and tell you how good or bad it is almost immediately. Using this, if a seed hits a certain threshold (in my opinion of course), I can tell you if it's a hard or easy seed. Hopefully that answer doesn't sound arrogant!

Q: How many attempts did it take for you to find your very first glitched seed?
A: On v0.3.4, it took me ~7k attempts (Seed: 821459638), which is particularly unlucky. This was during a time I wasn't strictly hunting for glitched seeds, but was rather more focused on speedrunning (and just happened to get this randomly).

Q: Will you ever quit playing BB+?
A: As with every other player who exists, you have to take breaks eventually. I personally don't think I'll ever actually stop playing this game, but I will definitely take breaks. Breaks aren't quitting, but simply rejuvenating for the next session!

Q: How will you handle archiving older game versions?
A: A new guide will be made with the same name but with the current game version. Why separate them into completely different guides you may ask? It's mainly because it'd make it harder to navigate the guide in its entirety, which I would like to keep as clean as possible. Don't worry though; when multiple game versions come out, I'll make sure to link the guides up through a section on the top.

Q: Why do you not have a section for seeds with The Test?
A: It's mainly because not only is he not that uncommon, but also because then I'd feel inclined to include a set of seeds for all the other somewhat uncommon characters, which would just be a mess. If you want to see him right now despite this, enter in the seed 99 into Endless Random. The Test spawns very close to the detention room (remember to stay away from the detention room before the game begins, otherwise, he won't spawn immediately).

Q: How come I cannot find grappling hooks in faculty?
A: Not only are there specific requirements for it to spawn, but it's also rare. You need to be on Floor 2, Floor 3 or Endless Random, and you need to find a faculty room that is not connecting to any hallways.

Q: What makes a glitched APR seed more rare than a normal glitched seed?
A: Because for a glitched seed to have APR, you not only need the mystery room event to not exist in the floor, but then you also need the placeholder room to spawn not connecting to a hallway. This is explained more in the seed explanations section.

Q: Will founding dates be added?
A: The dates for when seeds were found is planned to be added for Seed Hub v0.4. You may find some dates on some seeds here, but most do not have a founding date as the dates were lost.
Seed Submission Guide
If you're currently unsure what qualifies as a seed to submit to this page, this section should let you know what's currently being added. This should serve as a general guide as to which seeds are good for submissions.

For glitched seeds:
- Any seed that contains less than 4 (F1), 7 (F2 or END) or 9 (F3) notebooks

For uncommon seeds:
- 2 or more apple trees
- 1 or more grappling hooks (that are not in mystery rooms)
- 2 or more portal posters
- Abnormal amounts of world objects (refer to already added seeds)
- Faculty in janitor closet
- 3/4 elevators close to each other (only for F3)
- Tiny or wide rooms (2x4-7 rooms)
- 1-way walls
- Faculty out of bounds
- Tiny libraries (ones that only have 1 or 2 more rows in each direction)
- Community posters in elevator or windows in elevator
- All faculty in big room without it being glitched
- Tiny conveyors (1-2 long)
- Elevator poking out of wall
- 3 or more faculty inside a room (excluding glitched seeds)
- Nearly all faculty or classrooms being next to each other (preferred to be on F3)
- 3 or more identical vendors or blue lockers next to each other
- Blue locker appearing in any room (red lockers do not count)
- 4 or more empty faculty rooms (only for F3)
- Spawn in center of map
- 3 items in faculty
- No field trip (only for F2)
- Missing elevator
- U-layouts or anything as extreme as that (except O-layouts)
- No math machines on F2
- 2 or less math machines on F3
- Elevator wall missing
- Anything else that is very uncommon

For easy seeds:
- Has a very easy F3 (F1 and F2 can mostly be disregarded, but if either are particularly hard or lack in math machines, the seed is no longer considered easy)

For hard seeds:
- Has a hard F3 layout (usually a U-layout that has annoying classroom placements)
- If Random Endless, has bad events, layout, classroom placements, items and/or has a lack of math machines
Note: any Random Endless seed with The Test is automatically not hard

For impossible seeds:
- Crashes the level generator in any form or has an inaccessible elevator or classroom

For best random endless seeds:
- Is somewhat easy to get a 35+ score
Closing Notes
I plan on keeping this guide up-to-date for quite a while (including preserving older versions), so if you like what you currently see, please consider liking it (or favoriting to find it much later on) to let me know the time I've put in is worth it!

Again, if you have any interesting seeds, from glitched seeds, to seeds with rare items (like a grappling hook or multiple portal posters), to downright weird seeds, please comment them below along with who discovered it.

Hmmm... can I make that, but for V0.6-0.7?

-448372826 This has a really weird F3, probably a hard seed?

F1 - you can get 4 notebooks before Baldi stops counting
F2 - is easy
F3 - has only math machines and there is 4 notebooks at spawn

Cool!

@GregTheBPlayer It depends on a few things, in fact it could come back even before then. It mainly depends on how unique seeds can be. At the moment, glitched seeds (to my knowledge) no longer exist, so we'd have to find other avenues for unique seeds. Once that's found and calculated, I'll resume it.

@Cataclysmm You have to be on the game version specified in the guide (for the seeds to work), then you need to complete a game a single time in order to get the seed inputter in the main menu.
