100% Steam Achievements - Weird West
By Joanne Fairchild
Hope all you gamers will find this guide for the full 100% Steam Achievements for Weird West, useful!

Of course, I will still update this guide from time to time, if and when needed, especially if additional achievements have been added (which I hope won't happen though).

I would like to thank many of the commentors for contributing to this while this guide was still a work-in-progress and while I was still getting many of the achievements myself.

To name them - Iron Bear, vungquemuanuoclu, SKADRIL, yungmxrxn, veevoir and uccisopascia! Thank you very much!

Tips Before You Start
BE WARNED: There will be Spoilers!

1. Always keep two save files of each heroes journey without deleting or overwriting them. First one at the start of the journey and second one, before the end or final mission of their journey. This is in case you missed something, so you can go reload the game to that part and get the achievements that you may have missed.

2. Unless you plan on playing a second or more playthroughs to explore the stories and the what-ifs, during The Bounty Hunter's Journey, it is best to achieve Out on the Ebb Tide first, then reload back for the The Great Escape achievement and keeping that path so that Shelby Cross stays alive for him to be a bounty target later for the Elusive Prey achievement. There will be another two possible bounty targets but he's the easiest to go for.

3. It is best to keep all previous heroes that you recruit to your posse alive till the end of the game, as there is an achievement, Getting the Gang Back Together, which requires that. For this achievement to pop, it also requires that when you play as the Protector, you do not turn into a Wiindigo, so save that part for another chapter-playthrough just for the Protector's journey as that is another separate achievement. Do read that part of the guide for more information on this. Additionally, when you play as the Werewolf, you will need to destroy the Blood Moon.

4. When you go to any mission areas to clear enemies, it is best to kill them and not go MGS-style just knocking them out. I normally like to knock them out with stealth, but I learned later that when I needed to come back to the same location to pick something up that I had forgotten, the enemies are all up and about again. If you kill them, the area will be clear when you come back making it easy for you to get what you missed or needed.
The Bounty Hunter Journey Part 1
Unforgiven (Unmissable, story related)
Dig up your Bounty Hunter cache and suit up

Justice Served (Unmissable, story related)
Complete the Bounty Hunter Journey

What’s in the Box? (Missable)
Return the Heathen’s Box unopened

I listed this achievement twice on this guide. One here on the Bounty Hunter's journey and another on the Oneirist's journey.

The reason is because you need to get the quest during the Bounty Hunter's journey as you will not be able to get it later on. (Thanks to yungmxrxn for this info!) As you travel to places on the map, a random encounter with the Heathen may happen where she will give you a box and tell you not to open it.

Make sure you never open it, no matter what!

If you are about to finish the Bounty Hunter's journey and still has not gotten this box, keep travelling around the map more, perhaps trying for other achievements at the same time.

You will finish this quest on the Oneirist's journey, before you reach the end.

Out on the Ebb Tide (Missable)
Take down Shelby Cross in Copper Mountain Quarry

If you plan on having only one playthrough, I suggest you make a save once you reach your husband, because there are two achievements here that you can get using this save. Do not overwrite that save slot.

The first is to take down Shelby Cross, but you will need to open that Unbreakable door, and to do that, you need to pull three levers.

First lever:
You will need to carry a barrel, place it beside the ledge, stand on it and jump to the ledge.

Second lever:
This one is located behind where your husband was imprisoned. Jump over to the ledge on the right side to get there.
Worth mentioning: For fans of the Dishonored game, check the corpse at the bottom of where your husband was imprisoned, where the rats are at.

Third lever:
Jump from the train tracks to access this ledge.

The entrance to Shelby Cross will be opened and now, you can fight and kill him. Then escape the area for the achievement to pop.

The Great Escape (Missable)
Get your spouse out of the quarry without ever alerting Shelby Cross

Now you can reload that save slot, leave the area without bothering about Shelby, keeping him alive and saving him for one of the bounty targets later, which will help you out for another achievement.

Self-Improvement (Unlikely to be missed)
Use a Nimp Relic to gain an ability for the first time

Perky (Unlikely to be missed)
Use a Golden Ace of Spades to gain a perk for the first time

Let’s Ride (Unlikely to be missed)
Recruit your first follower

Recruit an individual to your posse.

Full House (Unlikely to be missed)
Recruit a full posse

Recruit an additional individual to your posse.

Welcome to the Weird West (Unlikely to be missed)
Kill your first monstrous enemy

You should get this one killing a siren. Werewolves, zombies and wraiths should work as well.

Dead or Alive (Missable)
Turn in your first bounty from the board

Look up the bounty boards, pick a target and hunt them down within 15 days.
The Bounty Hunter Journey Part 2
Note: The Steam Achievements listed here on Part 2, can also be obtained when you move on to other heroes' journeys. Or course, it's always better to get most of them done while you're still playing the Bounty Hunter.

Off the Trail (Missable)
Complete 10 side quests

As the description implies, look for 10 side quests to complete. Going after bounty targets count towards getting this achievement too.

Dishonored (Missable)
Knock someone out by dropping onto them from above

A reference to the Dishonored game. You just need to get somewhere higher up and jump down landing on your target. They need to be knocked out for the achievement to pop, so if you land on them but they weren't knocked out, you need to try again.

If you're doing this on town folks, remember to save your game before you do it. I did this one on the Protector's Journey.

And yes, I know I'm an a** for doing it on this poor lady who's grieving for her deceased family member.

Chain Reaction (Missable)
Catch 2 or more enemies in Chain Lightning

Sneak close to two targets that are close together and throw a Lightning In A Bottle at them, making sure that they are within the radius of effect.

This Is Sparta (Missable)
Kick someone off of a rooftop or cliff

A reference to the 300 movie. Just kick someone off a roof. Press "F" to kick.

Galen's Crossing is a good place to do this.

I Kicked a Bird and I Liked it (Missable)
Kick a flying Vulture

Find a vulture snacking on carcasses and kick it, hopefully as it flies off.

For me, the achievement popped when I jumped and kicked one that was perched on a fence. It wasn't flying though.

Here Comes Santa Claus (Missable)
Break into a building through the chimney

Make sure you have a rope in your inventory. Look for a house with a chimney, get on the roof, go next to the chimney and you should do this easy enough.

If you're not able to get on the roof, carrying some barrels and placing them next to the roof edge will help you get up there.

Lord Inut Sends His Regards (Missable)
Roast a live chicken

When you see any chicken, look for a lighted lamp to carry and throw it at the chicken.

Or if you have a Wildfire Cocktail, that works too.

Be sure to save your game before you do it, or you may be caught for vandalizing other people's property.

Revenant (Missable)
Start a fight against a bear while drunk… and win

I achieved this one during a random encounter against two bears. Quickly open up your inventory, drink up and fight the bears!

According to the Global Achievements stats as of 3rd April 2022, not many people have this one, but that will change in time as this is really an easy one. Good luck though!

Scholar (Missable)
Read 50 books

Make sure you read every book and literature that you see as you explore around. It does not need to be done by the end of the Bounty Hunter's journey as I got this achievement on the Pigman's Journey after reading a few more books. So it accumulates for your goal with the next hero's journey.

Gold Digger (Missable)
Dig up 10 mound caches

You have to be observant as you are exploring various places and look for these mound caches. Ten of these will help you pop the achievement.

'Ma Barker (Missable)
Steal $10,000 worth of goods in a single playthrough

As the description states, you need to steal $10,000 worth of items in a single playthrough. Yes, it can be accumulated over all the five heroes' journeys. So if by the end of the game, you still have not achieved this, just load up the save slot before heading off to the last part of the game and go on a stealing rampage.

Do Not Pass Go… (Missable)
Serve time in jail

Save your game before you do this if you want to maintain your reputation.

Steal some items making sure there are people watching you do it and when the sheriff comes to pick you up, choose the option to go to jail. Do not pay the fine.

Ghost Town (Missable)
Turn a settlement into a ghost town

Again, save your game before you do this if you want to maintain your reputation.

Look for an easy town and kill everyone in it. Be aware that the sheriff and devotees (if any) are harder to kill so what I did was, I sneaked up on some of them and knocked them out first without alerting other people, then kill them later while they're down.

Once everyone is dead, leave the area, open the map, head to another place and the achievement should pop.
The Pigman Journey
That’s All, Folks (Unmissable, story related)
Complete the Pigman Journey

Workers' Rights (Missable)
Kill Maximo and free the Lantern room’s workers

At Quigley's Lantern Room entrance, ring the doorbell. After some dialogue, a lady will ask to meet you in the back. Do so and when she request for your help, agree to it.

The mission here is to get inside, knock out your target - Maximo De Cueva, carry him to the nearest balcony and throw him off. You have to do this without being seen.
Once you have done so, leave the area and the achievement should pop.

Turning the Tables (Missable)
Turn Ruth into a Pigwoman

When given the option, please make sure to choose that you want Ruth to be turned into a pig. This will also help your "Monster Hunter" achievement later on, when Ruth Bough becomes a bounty target.

Through Their Eyes (Missable)
Recruit a previous Journey Hero to your posse

Go to Bell Stead and recruit Jane Bell, the Bounty Hunter.
The Protector Journey
For Balance (Unmissable, story related)
Complete the Protector Journey

Dirt and Blame (Missable)
Become a Wiindigo

Please note: On the Protector's Journey, you should save the game after meeting Maryann for the first time and keep that save slot. Do not overwrite it! Play the good and nice Protector, and you should even finish the game first. Being good and nice will help you in the "Getting the Gang Back Together" achievement.

You can later load that save slot and come back to complete the "Dirt and Blame" achievement, by just replaying the Protector's journey, following the greedier path.

Thanks to SKADRIL who posted the requirements for this achievement in the comments!

Here are the requirements:
- Extort Noemi for her husband's gold star.
- Sell off Sheriff del Bosque's gold star.
- Extort the farm owners for their land titles, then kill them.
- Sell off the farm owners' land titles to a bank.
- Do not strike a truce with the Dagger and Bones.

Doing so will turn you into Wiindigo at the end where you burn Olvidado's head.

Fallen Star (Missable)
Retrieve the fallen Sheriff’s star from the ruins of Boulder Creek mine

After killing all the Ravenous in Boulder Creek, you will speak to Jun Peng who tells you that their sheriff went missing. Ask more about the sheriff and you will be told that you should talk to his wife, Noemi.

Look for Noemi Del Bosque in town (she will have the side quest logo on top of her head), talk to her and ask about her husband. Agree to look for him.

She will ask you to look for his sheriff's star when you go to Boulder Creek Mine.

The achievement pops once you find it there, though you should still return it to Noemi after that.

Healing Old Wounds (Missable)
Return Glenn Mills’s rifle to Maryann

To get Glenn Mills' rifle during the Protector's journey, you need to go to Galen's Crossing. Keep to the outside walls and get to the back. You can then jump up to this area behind and access Mayor Galen's room by jumping to his balcony.

Once inside his room, check the wall right next to the door that you came in and you will see the rifle hanging there.

For me, I saved the game before I gave it back to Maryann, so I can reload back and use the rifle for myself after the achievement pops.

However, if you have it on you at the end of the Protector's journey where you are about to burn Olvidado's head, you will automatically give it back to her. One way around this is to let another member of your posse (a previous hero which you know you will recruit as the Werewolf) hold on to it first.

Rain of Death (Missable)
Turn one of your arrows into an elemental arrow

Point a nocked arrow at an open flame and shoot.

Winds of War (Missable)
Turn a Tornado into an Elemental Tornado

This one popped for me at the start of the Protector's journey when I was in the cave hunting the first Ravenous. I got this one accidentally when my posse decided to use a tornado.

If that didn't happen for you too, you can purchase the Western Wind ability and anytime you see a fire, you can use the ability.

Alternatively, you can throw either a Lightning In A Bottle or a Wildfire Cocktail, then use the ability.

Who You Gonna Call? (Missable)
Complete a quest given by a Ghost

A reference to the Ghostbusters movie.

After a ceremony which enables you to talk to spirits (or ghosts), you can then accept side quest from ghosts for this achievement.

If you're not able to find one with the Protector, you can still do so with the Werewolf or the Oneirist.

For me, I found my first ghost quest with the Oneirist in Winstead, when I was getting the Mystery Machine achievement. She was wandering near the graveyard.

Thanks to Bortedet who mentioned that he found another Ghost Quest in Oleander Temple during Werewolf Journey.

Monster Hunter (Missable)
Collect the bounty on a Pigman or Ravenous

All you need to do is look at the bounty boards and choose a Pigman or Ravenous as your next bounty to collect. For me, it was Ruth Bough.

Elusive Prey (Missable)
Collect a bounty for turning in either Leila, Shelby Cross or Galen Weeks

As the description states, kill one of these individuals and collect their bounty for the achievement to pop. As a note, you need to accept them as a bounty target first on the bounty board in town, before making the kill.

I did this one on the Protector's Journey, but I think you can get this one during Pigman's, as Shelby would've probably been a bounty target then.

If Shelby was killed during the Bounty Hunter's journey, then any of the other two would have to suffice.

Galen Weeks will appear as a target after the Protector's journey (if you didn't kill him). and Leila will appear after the Werewolf's journey (if she's still alive). Best to have kept Shelby alive during the Bounty Hunter's journey. Read the Bounty Hunter's Journey for more details on how.

Hog Wild (Missable)
Beat Pigman Joe at a Poker Game

From the Protector's Journey onward, be sure to visit saloons each time you enter any town as you may randomly encounter Pigman Joe looking for someone to play poker with.

If you do see him sitting at the poker table waiting for someone, make sure you take that chance to play with him. From the comments, many have mentioned that it is very hard to find him to play poker with.

As long as you win one round, the achievement will pop.

If by the end of the game, you still haven't found him, then here is a save file you can use to get this achievement.

Credits to SKADRIL who found it and LoveTrain who uploaded it to Weird West server on Discord!

First, you disable Steam Cloud synchronization for Weird West.

Here is the save file for you to get this achievement:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1c6Fzzn5Tzt1fi1EN_bUjQwNZyrqJxMuZ/view?usp=sharing

Remember to backup your own save files, before you replace it with this.

You can find your Weird West save files located at:
C:\Users<Your User Name>\AppData\Local\Nova\Saved\SaveGames
The Werewolf Journey
Dog Days (Unmissable, story related)
Complete the Werewolf Journey

At the end of the Werewolf's journey, you will have a choice to destroy or to unleash the Blood Moon.

If you would like to complete these achievements in the least amount of time, then it's best you destroy it as it will help you in completing the "Getting the Gang Back Together" achievement, and if you still have not gotten the "Elusive Prey" achievement during this journey, this choice will also help you to make Leila available as a bounty target in the following chapter as the Oneirist. Of course, this is assuming that you freed her from the Werewolf Hunter and did not kill her during this journey.

Loyalty to the Pack (Missable)
Rescue the missing Werewolf

When Leila goes missing and you are told to look for her in Grackle, go there and in the middle of town, you will see two men standing next to a body of a person killed by Leila. One is the sheriff and the other is Albert Jones, the Werewolf Hunter.

Talk to Albert and agree to go to his house. This will be a side quest and you will have to leave Grackle and on the map, choose his house which will be indicated by the blue side quest logo.

At his house, let him show you the rifle, which he will bring you to his basement and you will see another werewolf imprisoned there.

Tell Albert to get flooded and kill him. Open the prison door to free her and the achievement should pop.

You should do this one before reading Sybil's journal.

Moon Hunter (Missable)
Turn a Bounty Hunter into a Werewolf

You will need to have:
1. Wolfsbane Clippings (just one is enough)
2. A Silver Knife
3. A human in your posse (mine was Jane Bell, but it seems others can suffice too)

If you aren't able to get Wolfsbane Clippings, there's one right outside Leila's house entrance in a suitcase when you visit Grackle to look for her. The only problem is there are people watching making it hard for you to take...ok, steal it.

The good thing is, you're playing the Werewolf and you have a unique ability called Yeb's Invisibility, so activate that and steal the Wolfsbane Clippings from the suitcase.

Now, you can go to Albert Jones' house (see previous achievement) as there is a tame wolf there.

Make sure it is night time. If it isn't, you can Loiter. Give the Wolfsbane Clippings to your human companion and then, kill the wolf with a Silver Knife.

The achievement should pop once you see your companion turn.

Of course, you can also do this at any other places with wolves. I'm just making it easy for you to get two achievements in one place.

The conditions for this achievement are stated as follows:

"To Bring a Beast Into the Blood. Fashion ye a DAGGER from purest SILVER. Let the one MARKED FOR THE TRANSFORMATION carry upon their person a sprig of WOLFSBANE.

By NIGHT, find thee a WOLF, and hunt it with all thy craft and cunning. KILL the wolf with thy SILVER DAGGER.

With the wolf slain, let thy subject stand before the corpse, wolfsbane clutched tight, that the wolf's SPIRIT may be drawn within their beating heart, and so fixed in place, the two wedded for all time."

The Philosopher’s Stone (Missable)
Aid Essex Mast on his quest

Make sure to help Essex Mast every time he asks you for help. However, it's the Werewolf's one where this achievement will pop when you help him again, this time, by looking for the soul vessel for him while you are also looking for Leila at the Oleander Temple.

As you find Leila imprisoned, there is another prisoner opposite Leila's cell who will ask you to help open the cell and in return, that prisoner will tell you how to find the soul vessel.

After you free that prisoner, you can then press a hidden mechanism on the wall, near the large incense and you will be able to get the soul vessel.

Power Behind the Pulpit (Missable)
Read Sybil’s journal

In Cleric Franciscus' room, there is a hidden button behind one of the curtains. Press that and a trap door will be revealed.

Enter the trap door and you will come face to face with Sybil, an Oneirist who is hidden in this basement. Behind her table is a door with a lightning sign on it. To open it, throw a Lightning In A Bottle at it and it will be opened revealing Sybil's Journal.

Pick it up to read it and the achievement will pop.

Moondrunk (Missable)
Kill 3 enemies in less than 5 seconds in Wolf form

This one is pretty straightforward. Activate your werewolf form and kill three enemies within five seconds.

The trick is to find three enemies close to each other and do it.
The Oneirist Journey
Something Wicked This Way Comes… (Unmissable, story related)
Complete the Oneirist Journey

Knuckle Sandwich (Missable)
Beat the Heathen at her Slap Game

Once you start the Oneirist's Journey, you have to pass some Initiate's test first and after some dialogue, you'll be able to explore the area.

Look for The Authority's Quarters and you can either lockpick your way in or go through the drainage area at the side (you have to crouch to get in).

On the table is the Amulet Of The Open Palm!
Take it and equip it the next time you meet the Heathen. When she suggests the Slap Game, agree to it and slap the sh*t out of her using the power of the amulet!

Mystery Machine (Missable)
Save both innocents in The Strangeness

This is a side quest that look like a random encounter you will get upon travelling out from your starting point. Make sure to decide on OK in meeting them and not to avoid the encounter. They will tell you there is a "strangeness" in Winstead and ask you for help, so travel there and meet the kids on the saloon rooftop.

Next, go to the river and look for this woman and talk to her. She will give you words of banishing to use should you encounter trouble.

From here, talk to the townfolks, as many as you can and you will gather information that you will need to meet three individuals - the doctor, the school teacher and the bank manager.

Meet the doctor and school teacher first and when you press them about the blue light, their possession will manifest and that is when you use the banishing words. These are the two innocents you will save for this achievement.
Next, meet the bank manager and he will tell you about this abandoned house and that's where you should go to next. Enter via the chimney, you will need a rope of course. You will find a shelter door below, so enter that next.
Below, you will notice a suicide note and an urn. Read the suicide note first. Once you search the urn, a Dread Wraith will appear and upon killing him, the achievement will pop.
And yes, I'm killing him with my fists in this screenshot as I panicked and forgot to equip a weapon.

Explorer (Missable)
Locate every Temple of the Ancients

Thanks to SKADRIL who posted the achievement requirements in the comments!

Interact with the Temple Steles at these three places - Blood Moon Temple, Cedar Flats and Horsetail Grotto. Simply interacting with the Steles should give you the achievement.

You can only achieve this on the Oneirist's journey as she's the only one who can decipher the temple steles.

Blood Moon Temple:

Cedar Flats:

Horsetail Grotto:

Winter Has Come (Missable)
Collect all 3 of Pigman Joe’s Tour du Weird West souvenir snow globes

A reference to The Game of Thrones. This one seem to be the hardest achievement to get according to the Global Achievement as of 5th April 2022. That will change in time as it is an easy one.

As long as Pigman Joe still lives, you're able to get all three snow globes at his place (Joe's Hideaway) during the Oneirist's Journey. You can see all three snow globes in this screenshot.

Getting the Gang Back Together (Missable)
Bring all the Journey Heroes back to the Broken Steppe Temple alive

Make sure any previous heroes that you recruit for your posse stay alive till the end of the game.
As the Oneirist, you will eventually have a quest to obtain a Wellspring Text at the Broken Steppe Temple.

Here, you will need to gather all the previous Journey Heroes so you have to travel to each, one by one and when you open a dialogue with them, they will automatically travel to this place themselves. If any are in your posse when you go inside the temple, they will leave your posse and stay there.

The Protector is a tricky one as when you reached Fort Glenn, he is buried in the graveyard there, but yes, still alive. As long as you have a shovel ready, you should get him out in time.

On my playthrough, I didn't have one so when I went to out to get one and came back later, he was dead. I had to reload further back. So make sure you have a shovel ready in your inventory before you go to Fort Glenn to get him.

What’s in the Box? (Missable)
Return the Heathen’s Box unopened

You should have gotten this box during the Bounty Hunter's journey and I hope you did not open it.

As the Oneirist, before the last mission to Foxglove, travel around the map till you encounter the Heathen again and she will ask the box from you. The achievement should pop if you did not open it, not even for a peek.

If for some reason, you opened the box or you did not get the quest during the Bounty Hunter's journey, I'll help you out with my own save file which you can use to get the achievement, especially if you don't want to attempt another playthrough.

Once you load the save file, travel around the map for a bit.

First, you disable Steam Cloud synchronization for Weird West.

Here is the save file for you to get this achievement:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Qxfcl1i-c5uIZn695aIv0vWhzPkJfUKV/view?usp=sharing

Remember to backup your own save files, before you replace it with this.

You can find your Weird West save files located at:
C:\Users<Your User Name>\AppData\Local\Nova\Saved\SaveGames

Eternity Can Wait (Missable)
Spare Essex Mast at the end of the Oneirist Journey

At the end of the game, when given the choice, choose "Spare Essex -- he doesn't deserve to die".

There is Hope (Unlikely to be missed, but yes, missable)
Save the world

At the end of the game, answer the questions truthfully with feelings.

It All Dies (Missable)
End the world

Once you achieved "There is Hope", reload the most recent auto-save slot for the end part of the game and answer the questions again, but this time, emotionless and without feelings for anyone or anything.

If you did it right, the achievement should pop.

At the end of the Pigman Journey you have to save the soul of the Pigmen to get:
* A pigman bounty right in the Protector Journey for the "Monster Hunter" achievment
* Find Joe as a random player for the "Hog Wild" (also got it right at the start of the Protector Journey, right in the first city)

And probably also for "Winter Has Come"

a little note 'bout "The Great Escape"&"Out on the Ebb Tide". You can get them both in one playthrough, IF you take out Shelby cross stealthly. Did this today, both popped up.

Thank you so much for the save for "What's in the Box?". You saved me a ton of time!

Great guide! Just got them all following this and bunny de fluff's comment about Dirt and Blame.

Just wanted to add for 'Ma Barker, it's super easy if you find a spot where noone can see you with a shelf that is highlighted red, you can just drop valuable items in and take them out over and over and the achievement pops after maybe 30 seconds. I did stacks of gold/silver bars. Super easy. :8bitheart::steamhappy:

The easier way to get the Dirt and Blame achievement (turning into wiindigo in the protector journey) that I found out , is to play as a good guy, never extort anyone for anything, get the land title from the Week in Glen crossing and hold onto it, get the sheriff gold star during the search for one of the bracelat and hold onto it, go to decipher all the bracelets and continue the main quest, when you reached the point that you were asked to get a bark from a tree and give it to a woman so that you could talk to the ghost, make a save right before giving the bark to the women, then you sell both the land title and the sheriff gold star, and then you give the bark to the woman, then you do destroy the mine, and then choose to not form a truce, then you can turn into the wiindigo. All of that extortions whatsoever were not needed at all!
bunny de fluff 28 Dec, 2023 @ 5:52am
You need to choose to free all the trapped pig soul at the end of the pigman journey, so that you can find and beat Pigman Joe at a Poker Game for the achievement.

Im having trouble with the off the trail achievement. Yep.

I have done countless side quests and claim countless bounties (they say bounties count towards the achievement).

I even started a new game file (because some achivements were not unlocking in my first playthrough) but this one is not unlocking at all.

Any help appreciated.
