Radio (In-Depth)
This section explains the upload of radio stations in greater detail.
Radio (In-Depth) - Content
Understanding content limitations is crucial for success.

Currently, the supported file types for in-game music are:
.mp3
.wav
.ogg

A preview image must be named preview.jpg, and exported natively as .jpg (Renaming a .png file will not suffice), with a recommended aspect ratio of either 1:1 or 16:9

A radio folder should consist of:
- preview.jpg (image)
- Music files
- info_radio.txt (game information file - auto-generated)

The image, "preview.jpg" will appear on the Workshop page, and in-game lists. (See image for examples)

If no image is selected, a default image will be used instead.

Please keep content appropriate, and mark explicit content accordingly.
Radio (In-Depth) - Directories and Files
The local radio folders will be located in:
..\Steam\steamapps\common\The Pointless Car Chase Refueled\Radio\[YOUR STATION]

Example:

To create a new radio station, create a new folder inside "Radio", and add your files inside.
Radio (In-Depth) - Uploading
Once you have created your Radio Station folders, test your new stations in-game. Start the game and cycle through radio stations using [TAB], and songs with [~]. Once you are happy with the results, proceed to upload the content.

Access your in-game upload menu through Main Menu > Workshop > Radio Local. Your Radio Station folders you created should appear in this list - if configured correctly.

Click the desired entry to open the upload page. Enter the required information; Title, description, genre.

When complete, press "Upload to Workshop".

You can return to the game during upload; It will upload in the background. However, this may impact gameplay performance.

Important
Do not exit the game during upload, it will result in a corrupted workshop item. In the event of a corrupted item, go to your Steam Profile > Workshop Items, and delete the desired file.
Radio (In-Depth) - Music Formatting
In the game, the radio UI consists of 3 main parts

1. Radio Station name
2. Song name
3. Artist name

1. Radio Station Name (eg. "R.E.M. Studios - Album - In Theory")

Local:
For local files, the radio station name will be the name of the Radio Station folder.

Workshop:
For downloaded Workshop files, the radio station name will derive from info_radio.txt > "title".

2. Song name (eg. "Idea (Demo)")

The line of text before the " - " in the file name.

3. Artist name (eg. "R.E.M. Studios")

The line of text after the " - " in the file name.

Character string formatting:

Within the radio UI, the song and artist names will autoformat using these predetermined options:

- Underscores in song names (_) will be replaced with space ( )
- Hyphens in song names (-) will be replaced with space ( )

- Underscores in artist names (_) will be replaced with comma-space (, )

- File extensions (.mp3, .wav, .ogg) will be removed

The first space-hyphen-space in a file name ( - ), will be used to separate song and artist. Any instances afterward will be ignored.

Before:
The_Epic_Song - A-Great-Band_Somebody Else - Another Person Too.mp3

After:
The Epic Song
A Great Band, Somebody Else - Another Person Too

Note: If no space-hyphen-space ( - ) separator is used, this will omit the artist name, and only appear in one line as the song name.
----------------
Common Issues
Issue:
My new upload won't override an existing item

Solution:
Find the Workshop ID of the existing file (located at the bottom of the description of the Workshop item). Replace the "steamID" key in the info_[TYPE].txt file of your local file.

Issue:
Upload fails everytime

Solution:
info_[TYPE].txt file probably has wrong steamID key. Delete the info_[TYPE].txt file and try reuploading.

If you delete a Workshop item from Steam directly, this causes the local file's Workshop ID (steamID) to become invalid, and will result in failure.

Issue:
The game is stuck on "uploading"

Solution:
Most commonly, this is due to a large upload with a slow connection - Wait until finished

Issue:
My item is not appearing on the Steam Workshop page

Solution:
Check "Your Files > Files You've Posted" (from The Pointless Car Chase: Refueled workshop page) and refresh the page*. Sometimes, it can take a few minutes for a new upload to appear on the main workshop page.

Note: You will need to manually subscribe to your uploaded workshop files

Issue:
People can't find my item

Solution:
Workshop item may be set to hidden, unlisted, or friends-only. Set it to public.

Issue:
My preview image is not working

Solution:
The preview image must be named "preview.jpg". The file must also be exported natively as a .jpg file (Renaming a .png file will not suffice). Preview image files >1MB in size may also cause failure.

*To refresh: Press F5, or refresh button from web address bar (URL bar)

If web address bar is not available, navigate to Steam (top left corner of Steam client) > Settings > Interface > Display web address bars when available > Enable
Conclusion
Uploading to the Workshop is a fairly simple and straight-forward task. As long as you do it right, it should work smoothly.
