Introduction
First time loading the guide??.
This one is a thick boy, so give your internet a chance to catch up.
―― Core Races ――
All races will start with their most recent edition. Most races will start with 8th edition, but some races do not have 8th edition rules, so these races will start with their most recent edition:

  • Bretonnia -6th Edition
  • Skaven -7th Edition
  • Beastmen -7th Edition
  • All other core races -8th Edition

Why the separation?
"8th Edition is clearly CA's focus and they stated that many times in the past and it's what all the games are based on. so that is the reason why 8th Edition is being seperated from the other."

Every unit that isn't from 8th Edition will have unit tags:

(FW) = The unit is from Forge World. (Tamurkhan The Throne of Chaos, Monstrous Arcanum, Storm of Magic.)
(WD) = The unit is from White Dwarf.
(OE) = The unit is from Old Editions. (4th - 7th)
(CJ) = The unit is from The Citadel Journals.
(TC) = The unit is from the Town Cryer magazines for Mordheim.
(SP) = The unit is from other Supplements, Battle Scrolls and other Expansions like Storm of Chaos, Warhammer Chronicles etc....

Lore of Da Big Waaagh!: The Hand of Gork (Augment)

Lore of Da Little Waaagh!: Gift of the Spider-God (Augment)
Hissing and baring his own fangs, the Shaman calls upon the Spider-God for its wicked aid. As if in answer to his call, nearby allies seem to take on Spider-like aspects...

Lore of Dark Magic: Shroud of Despair (Hex)
At the caster's command, light is driven from the battlefield and numbing darkness rushes to fill the void.

Lore of Death: The Caress of Laniph (Direct Damage)
Laniph was an Arabyan sorceress whose ardent passions were eclipsed only by her capriciousness. It takes little effort to call her back from the spirit world to caress a new lover of the caster's choosing.

Searing rods of magical flame shoot from the wizard's outstretched hands, trammelling his chosen foe in a fiery prison.

Lore of High Magic: Drain Magic (Augment/Hex)

Lore of Nehekhara: Khsar's Incancation of the Desert Wind (Augment)

The wizard blesses weapons to ooze with the choicest of Nurgle's foul contagions.

Lore of Nurgle: Plague Wind (Vortex)
The wizard summons forth a swirling maelstrom of maggots, bile and blight-ridden fluids to eat away at his enemy's skin, flesh and soul.

Lore of Shadows: Steed of Shadows (Augment)
The air becomes dark and there is a sudden sound of monstrous hoofbeats. A coal-black or sometimes invisible, insubstantial drake materialises to carry a hero away on wings of night.

Lore of Slaanesh: Cacophonic Choir (Hex)
The wizard screams an ear-piercing chorus that tortures the souls and shatters the sanity of those who would stand in its path.

Lore of Tzeentch: Bolt of Change (Magic Missile)

Forgotten Races 1/5 - A-E
Forgotten Races is a standalone section we made together with Pootis Bird and without him wouldn't have been possible.

This section of the guide is about races from the lore that never got much attention and are mostly forgotten today and we will most likely never see any of these factions or units in the game. However, with the inclusion of Cathay, nothing is off the table, which means we could potentially see one or more of these races implemented, either as units for existing races or as their own race.

A race is considered "forgotten" if it does not have a faction representing it on the map.

Marsh Magic
In The Dying of the Light adventure for WFRP, the Fimir have some spells that are unique to them. It's main purpose would be to debuff the enemy, hiding/improving your own units, as well as summoning Lesser Daemons. In the new Winds of Magic supplement for WFRP, we got a new Fimir character as well as new spells in the form of the "Marsh Magic" that she uses.

"Need to be taught their place, still funny when they die though."

Brobat and Beesbok
Brobat and Beesbok are the 2 Gods of the Pygmies, and each have their own spells. This would be represented in one of 2 ways: 2 unique Lores of Magic , or a single Lore with 1 or 2 spells unique to each God (similar to High and Dark Magic for the Wood Elves).

"These Elves of the Southern Seas were darker of complexion and their eyes as their natures were cold. Although to the Tileans they were rarely hostile, this did little to put the explorers at their ease."

In earlier editions of Warhammer, Sea Elves were their own unique race. However, in recent editions, "Sea Elves" are used to describe the sea-faring High Elves (primarily Cothique).

Aer Dressair, King of the Sea Elves - (Warhammer: The Book of Battalions)

"It is a realm where Men are no more than hunted prey, and blood and souls are the only coin in trade."

Note that there exists almost no units for the Chaos Snakemen in the lore, so only a few possible units will be presented here. Should the Snakemen of Khuresh be added, they'll have to be a bit more "homebrewed" by CA in order to create a full roster. However, the Brood of the Naga Queens[www.worldanvil.com] fan project does have some interesting units.

Another source of potential new units could be the Scrolls of Binding Compendium (most notably, Feral Stonehorns, Thundertusks, Mournfangs, Terradons, Ripperdactyls, and Great Cave Squigs).

@Lile - Thanks for the feedback! we are not going to separate the Deamon factions. In the 8th rules they are combined into one book, we are following more of the books than the games :)

I like that you have a lot of different things. but could you update so that slaneesh, nurgle, khorne and tzeentch get their own header. Because what is missing for them. Know that some end times units are missing. khorn has hellpit fighter left and skullreapers with big sword. then there are few characters left for them. as the warhammer fantasy wiki has. then lords and heroes. but they will probably come during the end times.

ogres have little left with bannaga the butcher, butcher units and ogres units with heavy equipment.

Actually decided to look up rules for Braugh Slavelord, and it turns out that much like Klawmunkast and Morbus Sanguis, he has a unique unit attached to him (simply called "Slaves"). Might be worth adding to the Ogre Kingdoms roster (considering that Warpstone Mutants and Yellow Plague Rats are already added for Skaven).

Also, there's two potential Hero characters for the Vampire Coast, Black Jens (a Ghoul that serves as Luthor's chief courtier and chancellor) and the Brine Wife (a Syreen that has made a pact with Luthor and inhabits an isle off the Vampire Coast).

The new ‘Golgfag’s Maneaters’ have dual weapons, so you could potentially remove Maneaters (Dual Weapons) from Ogre Kingdoms.

I certainly like your whole list, for it is very impressive and the question is who CA can recreate before they are done with the game...Well, and regarding Nagash, for if the Undead Legions are all good, although a bit lacking in personal armies such as the Guardians of Nagashizzar and the like
