- Welcome to another guide, my name is Steakchelle and the new topic is related to the official Arcade game in Japan. Left 4 dead has an Arcade game of it's own made by Valve themselves directed to Japan players! If you enjoyed the guide or found it useful you can share this anywhere you'd like, it would heavily help me!

- Left 4 dead:Survivors (L4D:S) Was released in April 30th 2014, the reason why an Arcade game of it's own exists is to attract Japan players onto playing it, as it would've gotten barely any attention keeping the official American characters! The game had a lot of stuff that made it unique compared to the 2 games we all know nowadays. Sadly every Arcade comes to an end as it ended up shutting down in 26th of July 2017.

- There's many things that makes the game stands out just as much as Left 4 dead 1 & 2 :

* The game has 4 Protagonist of it's own with their own personalities and backstories!

* The characters had a purpose different to the retail Survivors!

* The UI is completely different compared to Left 4 dead 2

* The game had events that allowed you to purchase cosmetics for your Survivors! :

After the credits then the trailer , the game will open up with this screen at first!



Later on the game will load in a quick tutorial for stuff like blue arrows, these blue arrows are used to lead you the way and their purpose are because the Arcade game had a timer like most Arcade games out there! So the player had to get to the saferoom in time or they would've gotten a game-over screen..



After the quick-tutorial, unlike the original game that allows you to pick a character before starting up a campaign, you're supposed to pick the Survivor you'll play right after the quick-tutorial screen!









The game will teach you new things from time to time until you have learned the essentials, later on you'll be free to play it without the need of tutorials! It'll also block many parts of every maps to make sure the player won't waste any time because of the Timer in the game. (Currently the computer emulator allows you to have an infinite timer)

If I didn't mention it yet, L4D:S did not get loading screens of it's own as it's replaced by quick tips, because most of the players in the Arcade would play it once then never again due to it's timer.
It also has a HUD of it's own that matches the L4D2 one



Since the game doesn't have much Art of it's own except for the character's sprays, we can still see the retail Survivors in the Campaign previews.





These are just some example as nearly all of them have this problem.


After a chapter is over, there will be a ranking of every Survivor's performance too as seen in this screenshot



The game includes custom weapons you can purchase, some of them can be found in the Workshop, and a whole set of melees you can fight off zombies with

We are presented to 4 new survivors :

Haruka Hirose, a highschool student! She's confirmed to be 18 years old [Replacing : Coach & Francis]

Sara Kirishima, a tour guide! She's confirmed to be 26 years old [Replacing : Rochelle & Zoey]

Blake Jordan, a bartender! He's confirmed to be 32 years old [Replacing : Louis & Ellis]

Yusuke Kudo, a college student! He's confirmed to be 19 years old [Replacing : Nick & Bill]

- Here's their bios made up thanks to Cubiee, I only placed the information together and tried to make it make sense! <3

* Haruka Hirose : Haruka Hirose is a highschool student that's 18 years old, she was staying in The Vannah hotel with her class when the infection outbreak was currently happening. If the outbreak had not hit, Haruka would have been staying at the Whispering Oaks motel to visit the fairgrounds with her friends and as she says herself, promising them to ride all the rides in Kiddieland together. Sadly she was the only one to Survive from the burning building, as her classmates deceased in The Vannah. Haruka's purpose is to find her mother, father and sister. Aside from the sad moments, she's loves food just as much as Coach does too and always seems to be sweet to the others Survivors!



* Yusuke Kudo : Yusuke Kudo is a 19 years old college student that took a trip to the United states for fun, he decided to stay in The Vannah too pre-outbreak. He likes video games and owns an airgun/airsoft at home! He likes Blake, and him and blake call each other Samurais.

Yu and Blake also call each other brothers :

- Yusuke Kudo: You will not be allowed to leave, Brother."
- Yusuke Kudo: Blake! Samurai don't give up that easily."
- Yusuke Kudo: Brother! Your life is more important than Bushido!"
- Yusuke Kudo: Blake! You're going to live and be a samurai!"

He still thinks it's silly but he plays along. And Bushido is their Samurai code!

However.. as fun as he seems to be. He tends to have a "Nick" attitude sometimes which you can probably already tell by his facial expressions!



* Blake Jordan : Blake Jordan is a 32 years old bartender working at The Vannah's lounge that's in love with the Japan culture! He seems to be a "Weeb" (Not my words, Cuba's!) all he had left of his family was his dog Yamato, sadly he couldn't find him anymore after the outbreak. Blake always mentions Yamato whenever the survivors have the time to talk about their family, as the Arcade survivors talk about their family way more often than the Retail survivors! His favorite weapon is the Katana and he confirms to have a Samurai soul, cute right? Aww!



* Sara Kirishima : Sara Kirishima is a 26 years old woman that used to be a tour guide before the outbreak, she was actually in charge of Haruka Hirose's school trip to United States! Sara is half-American and half-Japanese so it explains why she knew Japanese to guide Haruka and her class. Sara was devastated to find out that everyone died in her hands, which is why she protects Haruka with her soul now! Unlike Rochelle (Sara replaces Rochelle) she has her own likes and dislikes, for example she liked the Midnight riders just like her entire family ever since she was a kid and Lil peanut! She has her family at Japan and confirmed to have a sister around Haruka's age.




Like the L4D1 and L4D2 team, the Arcade survivors have their own dynamic relationships :

Haruka & Yusuke : The "siblings"
Sara & Blake : The "parents"

We know from their voicelines, Haruka tries to be very close to Blake as she has a lot of lines that is related to him, Sara seems to have a crush on him too which Blake doesn't seem to reciprocate.

As for Haruka Hirose, the one behind her face would most likely be Haruka Shimazaki, who's an Japanese actress, singer, and former member of the Japanese idol group AKB48. Her stage name is Paruru (Which is Haruka's file names)


As for Blake, it's heavily suspected he's completely based on Ellis due to his Beta design, if you compare their faces, you'll find some similarities between the two, and as for Yusuke, we have no clue of who he's based off of.

There's some gameplay on YouTube I can link for you! I'd try linking gameplay of my own because of a private plugin that adds this Third set of characters aside from the Main 8 in the actual game rather than the arcade but it's not neccesary having this here when there's multiple videos showcasing the game. If you're interested, there's mods you can find across the workshop or, if you'd like, install the entire game on your own and play it by yourself, you can even play LAN with other friends![mega.nz]

However since they're 4 Survivors and there's so much to know about them, the list would be endless so I'm so sorry for that, the workshop mods, videos and wiki pages on them should hopefully be enough for your curious brains!
