A beginner guide of AOC(Age of Calamitious) on HOW TO START, HOW TO GET COINS, FACTIONS AND PROFESSIONS, AND MAGIC
De ICECOLDWRXST
1. Starting with Age of Calamitous

Lemme start by saying, this is the most grind worthy mod, you will be traveling over 400 hours to sell enough to even make coins that can buy people. To start, go to the faction hall which is a portal that is located in a dungeon entrance of The Dregs (It is at the end of the river on the Exiled Lands map), not hard or you don't need to prep to go, there is a huge horde of Dafari people but you can run past them by just running along the mountains climbing and run up the stairs into the entrance and you will see a blue portal at the end of the mouth, you go in there and you will see faction flags and a bunch of people, you need to immediately learn a job and join a faction to get cool weapons, they give you a preview by statues with armor and weapons within the entrances under the flags, do not go with Elven covenant because they give you a crappy bow that sucks early game and then you will see where there are people standing in front of logs, rocks and tannery, you hit e on them to learn and you can only choose one permanently and faction too. Crates are the name of the game and to even get anything in the mod you need to make coins from crates. This part is cringe because you need coins to make crates, and crates to make coins.

2. COINS and HOW TO GET
1 gold = 10 silver, 1 silver = 25 copper coins, 1 copper coin = 50 tin coins, the first currency you get is 200 tin coins and if you spend them on random stuff instead of saving it, then you have to go get more and to do this (wasting them sets you back a major amount), there are faction camps that have OP people so you won't be slaying a boss for 10 tin coins early, you do not need to kill a boss or in fact risk dying, these faction people are noticeable by clothing and (sometimes) drop pouches of coins on their dead body that give 1 - 5 tin coins when used, there is a very easy camp that has 4 Elvanor people and these people are located along the river near the entrance to (The Arena in Exiled Lands), it isn't as OP as it sounds. I killed these dudes naked with a stone sword, they shoot spells and back up while doing it but they charge up so you can dodge them, once you kill one just take the coins. ALSO I AM ADDING ON IF YOU WANT TO FIND EASY GEMS LIKE SAPPHIRES, THERE IS A CAVE CALLED CAVE OF FIENDS (Just before going to The Dregs) ALONG THE GIANT RIVER AND IT IS NEARBY THE FACTION HALL, IF YOU WALK ALONG THE RIVER AND GO UP A CERTAIN PATH YOU SHOULD SEE LITTLE IMPS THAT SHOULDN'T SPAWN THERE AND IF YOU WALK NEAR YOU WILL SEE A CAVE ENTRANCE WITH RED CRYSTALS, MINING THESE GIVES ALL THE GEMS IN THE MOD AND I AM DEAD SERIOUS, I WAS MINING COAL TO GET A RARE DROP OF 3 UNCUT SAPPHIRE, IN THIS CAVE I MINED AND GOT LITERALLY 100'S OF UNCUT SAPPHIRES AND OTHER GEMS TOO LIKE RUBY AND TOPAZ, these gems are usually called uncut sapphire or uncut etc..., you need a gem bench to craft them into actual gem so it goes 6 uncut gem = 1 gem shard, 3 gem shards = 1 full gem I think but regardless this cave is in the vanilla game if you look up cavern of fiends, just your friendly neighborhood cheater. This mod doesn't tell you what locations are modded and what aren't and there is no map to find locations so you kinda have to get lucky. One spot I know is a camp of OP orcs, which are powerful and located in the Hyena area with a big tree along the river.

3. PROFESSION AND GUILD
there are 6 guilds and 6 professions, professions are not linked to guilds, you do however have to find a person to beat down into a slave by dragging them with a rope and putting them on a wheel with gruel which is part of the vanilla game, that can do the job you picked, these people are only found at the modded camps and they are scattered around the map, the 4 Elvanor people along the river near (The Arena) are easy and always have a job person and you can tell by their name if they say something like Elvanor Skinner or Elvanor Brewer, you also need to craft your station in your inventory then place it to even start making crates, you capture one of these job guys, different guys do different jobs, A Skinner you use in your Hunter tannery and and A brewer is put in a Moonshine brewer. YOU NEED TO PAY THESE GUYS WITH COINS TO MAKE CRATES WHICH IS STUPID so use those coins you gathered by killing those weakling Elvanor people and you put them in the station and press the play button after YOU GATHER THE RESOURCES TO MAKE A CRATE, it should tell you what you need for crates. I can't quite remember the exploit, but you craft the easier crates possible and it makes the same money as any other tier crate, easy crate legendary same as hard crate legendary in coin pay.

Guilds have different items you can make and armor and weapon given to you at the start, Stormhold (Knights and Swords), Vanghoul (ORCs and axes), Elvanor (Elves and Staffs), Elven Covenant (Rogue Elves and Bows) Felgarth (Druids and Staffs), and lastly Cold Embrace (Assassins and Knives). Choose what you want and I don't recommend Elven Covenant as the bow sucks and armor is crap early and late game, you cannot change your profession or guild once chosen, you have to restart not only character, but map too, for that which is BS

4. MAGIC
If you really want to learn, the grind and just absolute BUTTFCKERY you have to do is insane, watch the only tutorial that exists on youtube by a guy named Ragnarrok make sure to watch part 1 and 2 otherwise you will not get spells here is a link to it part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvEZIzl5xWQ&ab_channel=Ragnarrock

5. MY PROFESSIONAL OPINION
Someone made a mod for this mod not to be grindworthy, I would recommend, and also I have started this mod since I bought conan and uhh I have not made any progress with almost 400 hours I have 8 silver, can you believe that? Also, this mod is extremely random with crafting items, you need this to make that type of items, which you gather from random spots on the map. EDITED: Not really sure what the grind of this mod is for, there isn't anything to do in PvE, I think this is more for PvP

Slap Nuts(AOC is GRINDWORTHY MOD)
1. Basics and starting

2. Coins and how to get easy coins, no you don't need to defeat a boss for them, they drop off mod NPCS humans

3. Professions and Guilds
Also I talk about how to get tons of UNCUT GEMS by going to the Cavern of Fiends and mining the red crystals, I am not joking, the amount of gems you get is insane from 1 mine run in that cave, also that cave is not dangerous early game and late game, just potato demon imps

3. MAGIC, too grindworthy, watch video I linked at own risk

Honestly I didn't even know there was a tutorial for this mod, didn't bother since I literally didn't understand the mod myself.

Wish I knew how to complete the tutorial. NOT intuitive at all. Even skipping doesn't get me out of the tutorial. So now I"m trapped here?

Oh and know this, Mod developers blocked comments because they mad at all the negative feedback they get for bad. True story

Ironically, it's still a true guide. Rip
True and Bad are two very different things. It maybe bad, because it's true. and it's not bad as a guide, as it's a guide to bad content. also true.

An author is only as good as the content they have to work with.

Cool story. Bad guide. You don't list off things that you should. You didn't even mention finding food when you locate the customization hall. Down rated this guide.
