I do also play Cities Skyline 1 and TF1 and look for CS 2 once the bugs are gone.
As far as Graphics is concerned (and First Person Camera),, BOTH TFs beat CS 1 hands down.
I agree with the lack of an actual SIM-effect but have also used MODs to overcome some of these restrictions.
I do personally halt progress at 1978 and no skyscrapers and Period C buildings for the Nostaglia.
You can invert them in the control settings.
While it is possible to set other shortcut keys for them in the keyboard, not sure if that is possible for mice, definitely not the way CS does it anyway.
Been meaning to ask if TF2 map can be rotated with mouse? Every time I try playing it not knowing how to stops me.
- New game on a random seed map: NEXT > Click the CUSTOM checkmark > SETTINGS...
- New game on a specific map you downloaded or created: on the randomly generated map, click on PLAY MAP > SELECT OPTIONS
- Load map: on the load save menu, click on SELECT OPTIONS (similar to new game above).
