Too poor to buy that cool spell because enemies only drop enough to maybe buy a candy? Well follow this quick guide and I'll teach you how to farm some nifty items and get whatever you want!

What You Need
  • Swimsuit
  • Spark or Wands
  • Water Bottles
  • Zweihander

If you've beaten the first boss, you can progress a little bit until you get the goblin's key. Use that on the nearby room to your right and we can make the run a lot more efficient:

  • Amulet of Poison + Purifier
  • Plunger <--
  • Zweihander

If you don't have the Zweihander, you can grab one early on when you first drop below the camp. I highly recommend it, it will make this incredibly mindless.

If you don't have the Amulet of Poison, you can use your Earth Wand on the room just on our left here to open the door. Beware of hot spider babes.
The Run


We will begin our run here in the sewer entrance, right before ghost girl. Our first room has crates with food/dynamite and some slimes (poison items). Shock the water twice w/ swimsuit to kill the slimes with 0 risk, collect your loot and continue to the next room.

... Alternatively, use our purifier/amulet of poison combo with a plunger to poison all the slimes at no cost. Collect your loot and continue to the next room.

If you go right you can farm mushrooms for vegetables as well as more slimes, but the trek back is tedious. For this run, go up the elevator and head left.

Clear the zombies in here with the Zweihander. If you time it right, your weapon will out reach anything that attacks you. Walk forth and claim your loot. (water bottles/ointments, high drop rate).

Now we're back to the ghost girl's room. Trek back to the portal room above. By entering the above part of this section, you pass a trigger that respawns all the enemies and crates you just destroyed. For whatever reason, the jar never respawns in this room via this method.

Bonus Go right from here, kill the one zombie girl/crate. Leave.
Mid-Game Bonus Clear the above room. Return, head into portal and warp to Catacomb Stairs located directly right of your block. Clear the 3 zombies on your right.

Repeat this process as much as you want. Shock runs will have to mooch some MP from water bottles, so only collect what you need until you can get that plunger. You can do it however you like, but this method guarantees your safety. Be wary of slimes.
End
All the loot can be sold for way more gold than farming the rare 3~5 gold.

  • Water Bottles - 16 Gold
  • Ointment - 20 Gold
  • Poison Bottle - 24 Gold
  • Throwing Poison Bottle - 12 Gold

... and more.

I'm currently running the original poster's loop... except, at the bottom after the slimes, i'll pass up the elevator to step into the next room and then step back out, then go up the elevator and step into the room on the right, kill the first 3 enemies (slug, zombie, and that thing w/ the scythe hands), then go left to the statue and vending machine and repeat the loop, no need to go back up to the portal.... minimizes wasted empty room running

Current setup:
Pickaxe (for chance of 20% gold when hitting)
Shield of Life (for +1 HP when blocking)... though Vengeance Shield is ok too (+1 HP when hitting)

Thief's Shoes (20% gold)
Leather Gloves (+50% one handed dmg +1 one handed speed... pickaxe sux)
Swimsuit (helps movement in that water on the bottom section)
Amulet of life (+1 regen)

i found a new path that only has you go through go empty rooms. starting from the vending machine go all the way across the rooms until you get to the room with the zombies and the fly over the pit jump down and to the left to land where the lantern is and go left to the elevator go up it and the zombies on the left side of the elevator will re spawn keep on going down past the vending machine then kill the slimes and go back up the elevator now go right and repeat the process of dropping down into the fly. you can work really fast if you have the cursed scythe the best friend the corpse absorb(to heal if you fail the curse scythe) the life amulet and the thief boots

I've found a way to cut out the teleportation. After the slimes, simply dip into the room to the right of the elevator. Then immediately return and go up the elevator. After the zombies, go to the left past the vending machine and dip into the room with the PC and teleporter. Then immediately return and fall down to where the slimes are. This should reset both the slimes and zombies.

It seems to be based on how many distinct rooms you've entered (so you can't go back and forth between the same two rooms). It looks like a room will reset after you've visited 5 other rooms. Going back to a room will reset the count for that room, but not other rooms (hence why we can pass through the elevator room and ghost girl room twice).

my english is not very good, if it's not too much to ask, can you put a red line or something outlining the path of the run? Where does it start, where does it go and where does it end?

My math is garbo so you're not wrong. What did you come up with? It could also be that I'm very unlucky, as gold dropped maybe once or twice from a brazier per run. Based on that, it was a lot faster to pick up the ointments and water bottles for me that had a very high drop rate.

Yeah, I did the math, the blue braziers were a net gain. And there isn't any risk with a Zweihander as it still lands before she can spit.

Just don't bother leaving that room, the next room with the fly IS a risk and not worth it.

Guess you need to get gud.

Is the gold worth it compared to what you could be making gathering water bottles and ointments?

I left out the rest of that room because the mobs posed more risk compared to the reward, and on HC mode where I've lost my save grinding even my route, I wouldn't suggest going past the zombie wall unless you were confident.

I bet if you tossed on thief shoes and... I think there was another gold boosting equip? Then the run would be incredibly profitable past the wall.

Edit: Doing the math, it isn't worth it to pop the braziers. The odds that they drop coins are so low that the time it takes to pop them all is actually hurting your profit line. In the time you'd make ~48g, you could have made ~79g. And this is calculating with the thief boots on! Banned forever.

There are a lot of blue flame braziers along this route that are worth destroying for gold. And because of that, the barrel + zombie girl room is worth going to the end of because it's not just the three other zombies and a box to kill, it's also two more braziers. Gold rate goes up a lot when you go to the end of that room.
