We have found intelligent alien life; and they're friendly!

We have been granted the rights to settle a small island on their homeworld -- a place you have to see to believe.

This planet is bombarded by refracted light from a nearby quasar. As the light passes through the galactic clouds it bends every which way, and the result is a spectacular rainbow effect in the night sky, appearing to surround the quasar like a halo.

The flora and fauna of Tyr Andromeda have reacted in-kind, evolving into a riot of multi-hued forms, some of which even glow at night!

Also, there is no moon....so the water here, while it does recirculate with a functioning weather system, does not erode the land in the same way. It is challenging to establish seaborne travel and trade due to the lack of natural beaches and harbors; but I am sure you'll manage.

As you found a new city here do expect to see curious and friendly locals mix-in with your citizens, and expect to see their extremely bright style of construction, transportation, fashion...well, everything. It may seem disorienting at first, but after awhile you begin to see the world in rainbows, too... ...just make sure you keep your mind sharp!

Our alliance may be young, but with care and diplomacy we can make a permanent pact of mutual aid and defense. After all, if we have found these friendly beings what others might be out there, and can we count on them to be as nice?
