Overview
Here is our other guides, feel free to check it:

1.Ingame designer basics - APB Reloaded "how to draw"
Factions
Enforcer - law side of APB population, legalized vigilantes working to clean San Paro streets

Has the ability to witness criminals, if find they find them committing open world crimes.

Has the ability to use siren's in their cars (annoying stuff =.=)

Enforcers can use both lethal (common) and LTL (less than lethal) weaponry while criminals can only use lethal ones.

Unlike lethal weapons, Less than lethal weapons are dedicated to deal stamina damage, which is primarily used for stunning criminals. each shot causes the opponent to lose their ability to run until they finally are stunned, an state in which criminals cannot move or do anything for around 10 seconds.

Enforcers can arrest stunned players by pressing the "action button" near them, be careful though, another criminal players can protect an stunned player as well as freeing them once they are arrested. This action however does not invalidates the fact you arrested a player in regards to the scoreboard and role progressing.

Criminal - The Dark side always have cooklies.

Whereas enforcers can witness crimes and arrest stunned players, criminals can mug every pedestrian that is not doing an emote and interact with most of all the shop windows and garage doors by smashing them with any vehicle, this action is known as “Ram Raiding”

Each window you crash into and person you mug drops one or many items you can pick up and deliver to nearby NPC’s called contacts.

All of these actions give you money you go accumulating in a stash, it is represented by small bag with a green dollar symbol in the upper left part of your HUD, is not yet fully yours until you “deliver” it.

You deliver your stash by reaching a point of the map called “money laundry” that converts your stash into game currency. This point is always in the same location and there is just one in each map. It is represented by a grey tag with a dollar symbol in the HUD.

Going around while keeping a worthy stash is a dangerous thing, you should deliver it as soon as you can since you can die and lose your money, and not only that but once your stash is worthy enough you can be witnessed by enforcers at any time which means they can kill you and take your money away. Sadly it happens you often get witnessed by people with more resources than yourself who just want to make people ram raiding have a bad time.

If you are smashing windows with a random car you picked up in the street acknowledge that anyone can take it and drive away with it when you are not inside, so is not advised to ram raid with random cars in populated areas, specially as a new player, you should not engage in any form of ram raiding unless there is no one around or you have a group of buddies to back you up.

You should make an enforcer for first character since the population is not evened out in most servers, there is a criminal player bias, meaning it will be easier to find matches if you create an enforcer instead.
First steps
The first time you spawn in the game you will see this screen:
Mark don’t show me this again and then close it.

Press O to open the options window and configure key bindings and mouse sensitivity to your liking.

Mouse sensitivity is under the category of gameplay.

After you are done with that proceed to complete the activities shown at the right side of the screen they are at first basic moves you probably recognize from other games.

Once you complete this activities you will receive a new email and a new set of activities, in which one ask you to check your email and a blue marker in your HUD conveniently tells you where the nearest mail box is located.

Each time you complete a set of activities you will receive a new mail with an attachment, in order to retrieve this attachments you must click the clip icon:

Retrieving attachments is a really frequent thing in apb, most of the rewards and things you receive in this game will be given towards the mailbox as attachments.

The first attachments you will receive for completing the first tutorial activities are basic gameplay elements, you have to go equipping them as you retrieve them, to do so press "I" next to a mail box or inventory machine:

Unlike many other shooters where you choose your weapons during spawn or in a loadouts section in the interface, this one requires you to walk to physical places and open your inventory next to them, the first thing you will have to equip will be the field supplier character modification, it allows you to deploy a box that allows you and your teammates to change your inventory and resupply ammunition anywhere during a set period time.

Click the character lid and then the modification empty slot, choose the field supplier from your locker and press "select"

Follow the rest of this activities, they will take you to different spots of the map and show you basic concepts of the game and its diverse mechanics.

You can view all tutorial activities by opening the tutorial window ("T" by default), each category of simple activities you complete rewards you with different each time better attachments.

The chat box
Most of your non verbal communication will take place in the chat box (ENTER by default) so knowing how to use it efficiently will make getting help and communicating easier.

Chat commands – You can also use it to know information about the server, the quality of your connection and how is your system behaving in relation to the game.

To execute any chat command just type “/” followed by its name, they are not case sensitive.

These are some of the commands you can execute and what they do respectively:

/pop - Display population of world/district

/who - Shows list of players in district

/FPS - Useful command, it shows yours and server’s frames per second, in addition to your latency.

/help - Full list of chat commands

/Afk – Shows an icon above your head that tells other players you are away from keyboard, coupled with an auto response.

/Dnd – Similar to /afk but your auto response is set to “DND: do not disturb”, unlike afk you can move and perform actions during this state and is not reverted unless you type /dnd again.

/Lfg– It tells others you are looking for a group to join.

/Ignore – Really handy if you stumble upon a troll, anyone insulting or harassing you can be blocked from communicating with you by typing /ignore playername.

Chat channels – Anything players say is grouped in different categories or channels, this way people can choose who they want to read what they are typing.

The categories are as follows:

/d – District, everyone in the district instance can read what you are typing. Its color code is white

/t – Team; only your current team can read what you typed. It shows as light blue letters.

/g – Group, for people in your group exclusively, it is represented as green characters.

/w– Whisper, only an specific player can read what you write, you must type /w PlayerName in order to talk to that specific player only, you can reply to whispers by pressing backspace.

/y– Yell, is like district but everything you say is highlighted in orange, it is considered yelling inside the game and you should only use it when necessary as using it many times can be perceived as spam and getting people to /ignore you.

/Say - Say, when you first open the chat box it will be at default in /say, which means anything you type will only be seen by players within a radius of a few meters.
Choosing a district to play in
When you have completed enough tutorial activities and got a good feel for the game and its mechanics it is time to join an action district.

To do so pres ESC and click select district, It will take you to the following screen:

Ignore the shiny big buttons with drawings and notice the small arrow in the upper left, next to where it says choose district and click it.

As silly and counter intuitive as it sounds you have to do one more thing in order you can choose a proper district to play in, uncheck the "show recomended only" box:

You can finally pick a district!, what would happen if you had not followed this steps is that you might have been thrown into an empty instance where you would have thought no one plays this game, with this method you can see the quantity of players of each faction in the several instances and click the one you find most appropriate.

Remember instance and district are no synonyms, there are multiple instances of each of district.

Here is how to interpret the name of an instance:

Breakwater marina: It means this one is a social district instance; you cannot use weapons here, is the perfect place to be away from keyboard, chat and meet other players, ask for help and is the only place where you can customize your looks and your vehicle.

Financial: One of the two action districts, this two main maps are where you play missions and rank up, this one presents an urban landscape with more tight spots and intricate alleys than its counterpart.

Waterfront: The second action district, it features a city near the sea where exportations and importations of goods take place, it even features a ship players can drive through, it is known for its more open areas and suitability for ranged combat.

Baylan Shipping storage: This one is a fight club instance, straight up TDM in a smaller map.

Asylum: The other fight club map, medium size it offers a variety of matches based on the different kinds of missions present in the main game mode.
Pledging to contacts
To unlock new things you need to level up, you do so by pledging to different NPCS called "contacts" in action districts, each has 10 levels of their own and they all unlock different things as you progress with them.

A pledge means all contact standing gained in missions will go towards levelling up that specific contact.

There are 3 ways of pledging to a contact:

* By walking next to them and pressing the action button.
* By double clicking their names on the map (“M” by default.)
* Using the progression menu, bring it up by pressing “J”

The progression tab offers you the list of available contacts, also telling you in which district they are located and how much you have progressed with them.

You can open each contact and take a look at which content they unlock, you can prioritize what contacts you want to max first according to the content you need the most. ( IE: that specific car, those wonderful trousers).

From this menu you can pledge to all contacts available as long as they are in your district (either waterfront or financial) press the "pledge to contact” button and notice how the face of the contact you pledged to appears in the upper left corner of your HUD.

It also tells your current level with that contact, once you maxed a contact is time to look up for another in order to keep progressing and unlock the rest of the content.
Finding people to play with
It is strongly recommended you find yourself a group before jumping into missions, this is a team based game and playing alone requires a deep knowledge of the game, the maps and the missions.

You will also have more fun if you play with friends; following are all ways you can find people to play and how to keep track of them:

Friend List: Unlike most of games and social networks, here adding friends does not require mutual consent; in fact, the player you are adding cannot even tell unless you inform them you did so.

So more than a friend list is a tracking tool, Press “U” to bring up the social menu, under the friends lid you can see what each player you added is doing, from there you send group invitations and private messages.

There are many ways of adding people to this list:

*By typing the chat command /friendadd Playername.

*By walking next to them, “interacting” with their avatar and clicking the “Add as friend+” option

*By pressing “U” and clicking “add new friend” under the friends lid.

*By pressing “U” , highlighting a player name under the group or team lid and clicking the “Add as friend” button.

Grouping: You can group with up to 3 players to do missions together.

*Sending group invitations: To send a group invitation you can use the following chat command:

/groupinvite playername

You can also press “U” and open your friend list, you can position over the name of any player you want to play with and click the send group invitation button.

The above also works for people in your current team (Press “U” > team > Player name > send group invitation)

*Accepting group invitations: When you receive an invitation you will be prompted to accept it or not via a green pop up in the upper left part of the screen.

Click “Y” to accept it and “N” to decline it.

You can also accept group invitations with the following chat command:

/Groupaccept

*Finding a group: If it seems you dont have anyone to play with at the moment, click "u" and go to the group lid, where you will find a list of public groups and open groups you can join.

If you dont want people join your group you can just uncheck the public group box so your group becomes "private".

You can use the chat command /lfg to tell others you are looking for a group to join, the game will also try to put you in a public group automatically when you are /lfg (looking for group).

Ultimately you can use /d and tell all players in the instance you are looking for a group to play and would appreciate an invitation.

Search: By pressing “U” you can also search for players that are not part of your group of friend list via the search lid, just type the name of the player and click search, it will tell you in which district the player is at the moment. You can also add them to your friend list or send group invitations.
Rank and Threat level
The symbols above people’s heads are determined by these two variables. Rank changes the appearance of the symbol while threat modifies its colour.

Rank – It tells you and other players how much of the game content you have unlocked so far. It increases every time you level up with a contact.

Threat level - Commonly abbreviated TL, it tries to determine and tell other players your average skill level and then use this information to create fair matches, by putting people of the same colour against each other. Sadly, it does not work quite that well, so don’t be surprised if it happens you get opposed against people with higher or lower threat levels than yourself.

TL is account wide, which means all characters you create in that account will share the same threat level regardless of their rank.

Threat level is set by the scores you get while playing missions in action districts, unmindful of who won or lost, it works by taking the scores of all the players that participated in a mission, arranging them from highest to lowest and splitting them in two groups, high and low ones.

If your scores is on the best ones your threat level rises and if the opposite your threat level decreases. The amount to which it goes up or down is determined by how high or low was the threat level of your opposition.

The above is a background process you cannot tell it is happening, but you can understand it works this way and guess how much your threat level changed by reading the scoreboards.

There are five different threats:

Training - This is the first TL you get when you start playing APB, it means the game does not know your threat level yet. You need to play a few more matches so game learns from them and starts matching you against opposition of your same skill level.
Be careful though, It is strongly advised you play in bronze and green districts during this phase, so you will not be meeting high skill players who kick you out of missions “because trainee”.

Green - This one means you are new to shooter videogames or your computer is not capable of handling APB properly. These kinds of players are almost always kicked from teams by silver and gold players, they have to join green and bronze district and stick to those districts in order to avoid that.

Bronze - Not much better than before, same advice, play with/against Green/bronze players.

Silver - So, you are doing better, welcome to the real world, silver districts are full of gold players and playing there means they will randomly kick you from matches or you will just keep losing against organized teams. You can still join bronze districts; you can either do that or try to find a decent group or clan and start destroying every enemy on your way.

Gold - If you play alone, you lose to premade groups all the time, you are always outnumbered in missions and people whispers you insults and toxic nonsense. But hey you are gold now, enjoy! (RIP RTW TL system)

All instances are segregated by TL's; players can join districts of their same threat level, all levels above and one below their current threat level.

For example a gold player can only join gold and silver districts, you can always try to join the recomended districts first but they can be empty, specially if you are green or gold.

Player count usually distributes as follows, so take note and choose accordingly!

Gold and silver players play in Silver district.

Green, Bronze and Silver players play in Bronze district.

The best way to avoid golds is joining a bronze district where they cannot enter unless they abuse the threat level system.
The social district
Social district - place where i am camping 110% of my time, just a awesome chat room, press M, and check legend for:

Music studio - When you have to be killed, you can always hear some death theme of your killer, so this themes made in this kiosk (if you was realy mad by evil theme of your enemy, u can add him to ignore list by '/ignore name', and hes theme will not play for you anymore) white kiosk

Symbol kiosk - place for creating images/sumbols what you will able to use on your clothes/cars or as a tattoo on your body, blue kiosk.

Wardrobe kiosk - place for creating your outfit, also you can buy clothes there. Purple kiosk.

Vehicle kiosk - Place where you can customize your car, add decals on it, switch engine sound or add some kits, red kiosk

Legendary Weapons
Joker Mustery Box 1, Sitting Duck scout rifle

Quack Quack! This uniquely painted version of the Nekrova HVR-232 Scout comes with an open slot plus integrated Tagger modification, painting any targets you hit to be finished off by teammates.

RECOMMEND if you don't have any others scout rifles.

Joker Mustery Box 2, Hazardous tommygun

This M1922 is covered in warning stripes for a reason. While the modifications make it harder to handle, the larger drum and cooling jacket mean there's plenty of 'Change' for all those 'Fillthy Animals' to keep. This weapon has a set of alternative skins unique to this weapon. For get this skins you need to reedem "HAZARDOUS" code in Armas Marketplace.

Joker Mustery Box 3, OCA Nano Secondary weapon

A secondary weapon, the Nano is much more compact than the OCA 626-EW and comes with an integrated silencer. With a much lower fire rate and chambered in a smaller caliber, this weapon is in-fact more accurate than its larger sibling, but at a cost of effective stopping power.

RECOMMEND Very useful secondary weapon

Joker Mustery Box 4, Reaper scout rifle

Made to Scout specifications, the HVR-243 uses a lower caliber round in a much lighter and smaller version of the weapon. While this adversely affects its stopping power, it helps recoil and allows for unrestricted movement. This version comes with an integrated silencer and a specialist tagger, along with a unique colour scheme.

Joker Mustery Box 5, Fire Launcher secondary

This Firework Launcher provides long range support for organized squads. A shot from this weapon fired into the air will mark all targets within 60m of the shot.

Joker Mustery Box 6,NCR-762 "Anubis" sniper rifle

The Nekrova Competition Rifle is a slow-firing, high-caliber weapon designed for sharp-shooting events, but ultimately canned due to high production costs. It has since found a home amongst the rich and powerful with the 'Anubis', a custom design resplendent in lacquered cherry-wood and brass plating.

Joker Mustery Box 7, Colby commander secondary

Created to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the last War of San Paro, the Colby Commander combines the modern design and performance of the Colby RSA with the iconic aesthetics of the Wild West. This limited edition version has a uniquely embossed receiver that comes with a mod to allow bullets fired to penetrate targets.

RECOMMEND - this weapon is reskin of Colby RSA, but Piercing mode gives you ability to shot through some of enemy covers ( Shields / Destroyble object / other players )

Joker Mustery Box 8, NFAS-12 "True Ogre" Shotgun

Dual Drum magazines and a cosmetic extra barrel give the NFAS-12 'True Ogre' an imposing look while also effectively doubling the ammo capacity and magazine size of this already intimidating weapon.

Joker Mustery Box 9,FFA "Bull shark" rifle

Functionally Identical to the OBIR, the FFA does however lack the scope of the Obeya weapon, resulting in less zoom while aiming. The 'Bull Shark', has been adapted to fire in four round bursts, but less powerful loads need to be used to stop the barrel wearing out with the increased throughput. A curved magazine is also used, allowing more rounds in the weapon without requiring longer to load or unload. They do however take up more space, reducing the number you can hold in reserve.

Joker Mustery Box 10, CAP-40 'Sergaunt' Sub machine gun

Obeya's Compact Auto-Pistol may be a holdover from the mid-twentieth century, but it's still a formidable weapon in the right hands. While similar to its younger sibling, the OCA-EW, the CAP40 has a higher caliber round at the cost of fire rate. The 'Sergeant' variant adds Piercing rounds, always useful in a battle.

RECOMMEND - This weapon something beetwen OCA and PMG, plus Piercing mode gives you ability to shot through some of enemy covers ( Shields / Destroyble object / other players )

Joker Mustery Box 11, N-Tec 7 "Ursus" Assault rifle

The NTEC-7 is the modern replacement for the older Nekrova TEC-5. A larger caliber provides larger stopping power where needed, at the cost of recoil and rate of fire.

Joker Mustery Box 12, OCSP 'Komandant' (*Card Tag) Secondary weapon

Functionally identical to the Obeya FBW, this classically styled weapon is part of the OCSP 'Kommandant' set. Equipped with a special version of the tagger, hit targets will have a '*Card tag' icon shown on the HUD.
* - You can choose 1 of 4 different taggers when you just got this weapon from joker box.
Cubs / Hearts / Spades / Diamonds, or most rare Joker tagger (You can't chose it, only win).

Joker Mustery Box 13, AAEPD 'Volcano' Explosive weapon

Feel overwhelming joy while firing rockets with its quick launch time and revolutionary ability to fire two rockets in quick succession. The Volcano JC utilizes a new chemical process turning fuel into payload as the rockets fly, creating an electrifying scream and increasing in damage as the rockets tear through the air towards its final destination.

Usables
Patch 1.16.0
After successfully completing a mission in Action Districts, you can be randomly rewarded with 1 of the yellow usable.

They are single use character modifications that don’t require any specific rating and you can stack them in your locker up to 100 each.

There are two categories of Usables:

Deployables - Large or medium size items that you can deploy and carry around.

Consumables - Instant abilities that are consumed the moment you use them, they can either benefit you and all players around you or just yourself.

Deployables: Mobile Cover, Field Supplier - Large, Field Supplier - Medium.

Consumables: Medispray, Epinephrine Injector.

You can retrieve the Usables you earn from missions in any Mail Box.

Description:

Epinephrine Injector - injects you with Epinephrine, allowing you to run at great speeds for a short period of time ( 5 sec). Effect:
-Increases sprint speed by +50% when active.
-Inreases run speed by 20% when active.
-Decreases health by -50% when triggered.
-Reduces Jump Height by -50% while active.

While being good for escaping, you must be careful before you use it since it does not only heavily impairs your ability to jump but if your health is low it can kill you the moment you use it.

Med Spray - triggers the spray of an advanced compound around you that immediately triggers health regeneration for friends and foes alike alike. Reuse 45 sec. Effect:
-Immediately starts health regeniration for all players within 5m.

Mobile cover - spawns a piece of mobile cover, painted with your personal graffiti.
Can be moved. Prottects you while moving. Large task item.

Please be aware that weapons with the Piercing modification, being the “CAP -40” and the “Colby Commander” can shoot through your shield.

Resupply Box (Medium) - Spawns a field supplier that can be droped to supply ammo to any nearby players. Can be moved. Medium task item.

Ammo box that works like a middle size item would, you can run with it but cannot sprint. It has a red bar that indicates how much ammo is left. Sold at the Joker Store in social district.

Resuply Box (Large) - Spawns a field supplier that can be droped to supply ammo to any nearby players. Can be moved. Large task item.

Same as before with the difference being that this one is a large size item instead, so you can only walk with it. It holds a higher ammo share so it lasts longer. Both ammo crates explode when they are destroyed.

Satchel Charge - Spawns a Satchel charge that deals high damage to Vehicles. Will detonate after 15 seconds or when damaged.

Boom Box - Spawns a Boom box that will play music selected in your music player. While playing music it will appear on the Radar to enemies as a target, allowing you to use it as a distraction.

Notice, if you stop your song in your music player, it will not showing for enemy. So you can control it by starting music at the time when you need it.
Default button '\' - Pause or start song.

Notice!

- Your Deployables can be used by all players in your mission regardless of whether they are teammates or enemies.

-You can put your Deployables into your car as you would a large/medium size item.

*Some facts about game
*Always in progress :D
Notority/Prestige level - your prestige level will be rise as fast as good you are ingame. When it will reached level 5, every player on server, can kill you, for some cash ( even if they out of your mission). You can always see your N/P level in HUD left top of screen. More level will also giving you more cash from missions. Criminal can easy increase level till 4 by killing pedastrians, when enforcers level decreases for same act. You always can decrease your level to 0 by speaking with contact ( Criminals only ), or rise it to 2 ( Enforcers only ). It's old system saved from RTW. Aressting N5 criminal will give you big cash and will switch your prestige to 5 instantly. Criminals can reach p5 outside of mission by ramraiding and mugging.

RTW - some peoples talking alot of about RTW APB. RTW aka RealTime Worlds is old developer of APB. After they closed game, it was started again by gamersfirst in F2P. Game changes alot. For example, there wasn't weapon timer, and every weapon was tradable. So sometimes you was able to see on streets some criminals with Stabba CCG.

APB Forums - check official apb forums, for some information about events and updates.
APB:R Forums[forums.gamersfirst.com]
APB:R DB[apbdb.com]
Admin Tracker[apbdb.com]

Radio/Scateboard backpack - it is eventaly happens in armas. But you can get preset radio backpask in jokershop.

Clan management - if you press "<" you can see logo/info and message of the day. In clan management tab, you can see players profiles and they Info/Bio/Last online etc. Also you can edit your bio there.

Door's - opening door in APB can be dangerous, if enemy camping behind it. But, you can jump near it in right or left direction, and press "F" (Open) button in Air. Your character will open door and instantly hides right or left side of it.

RT Codes - sometimes buying retail codes of game is more better way than get item from armas. Retail box including (Permanent/Account versions ) 1 primary weapon for choose, secondary weapon ACT 44 "last stand", Preset Cisco Car, 500 G1C, and 1 month of premium. Becareful, ppls who selling rt codes ingame 90% just scammers.
*Armas Marketplace
*In progress*
*Armas stuff is changes every update for known reasons*

APB's underground shop, more known as Armas marketplace, it is shop where you can find most of ingame content, by some cash. Weapons, clothes, oposite faction cars, or just exclusive car kits. All of it coming from Armas. There you can upgrade your account by some premium, for getting more ingame money/standing or bigger chance to drop random rewards after mission. Premium players also have 20% discount on all armas items, exclude Joker boxes.

For find this stuff you just need to press ESC in game, and on top of menu hit "Armas Marketplace" button.

If you playing thought steam it will open steam browser, if not then ingame windows. ( Steam browser is way better for me)

Now when it finally open you can see some items list there. Armas segragated by categories. Featured / Premiums / Weapons / Skins / Vehicles / Gear / Joker boxes. On top of it you can see name of current logged character and server of it. You can switch it by another character from same account. After it you can see 3 buttons, Home ( main page of armas), Purchase history (history of items and premiums you got thought armas), and Redeem code ( usefull code for everyones).

A bit more about Redeem codes:

Here you can see white board where you can enter some codes, like those:

Headphones for 1 character on your account - PH4TB3ATZ
1 day of premium FUN4ADAY and WELCOMETOSANPARO

Check APB forums for some free codes.
if you won some codes, it will bound to your account and showing under "Redeem codes" window. You can redeem em by easy clicking on it.

Categories helping you to easy find item what you wanted to buy. After opening a category you will see list of items. Left buttons help you find smth more close. If this category has items on sale, you will see special category "Sale!" there. When ypu found item what you wanted, you can try it for free (3h for premium users and 30 min for usual players), Add it to cart and listing another items, or learn more about current item.

Now when your item placed in cart, you just need to checkout it for buying for you or your friend ( Gift checkbox)

So uh, using an example of a weapon recently released. The S1-FA Frenzy is purchased in the Juggernaut Strike Pack for a whopping $50.

Is it a reskin of weapon available to free players?

Or is it proof the game is pay 2 win since it can only be bought using real world currency?

And is there some easy way to look up weapons and what they are a reskin of?
