Noita Save Scummer
I have created a tool "Noita Save Scummer" that allows one to conveniently use save/load mechanics in Noita.
The software is customizable through the "Options" menu.

Features offered
  • Saving (backing up) Noita's saves
  • Loading saves
  • Quick-save and quick-load
  • Autoclosing and autolaunching Noita
  • Managing and browsing saved games

Please note
If you are running Noita with elevated privileges (as Administrator), then you will have to close Noita manually (you should probably also disable the Autoclose option).

If you want the program to launch the game upon loading a save file (if the game is not launched already), then just check the "Launch Noita on load" option in the "Options" menu.

The program does not know where the Noita's executable is located, therefore it will not attempt to launch Noita back after closing the application. To fix that you should start the program while Noita us running or select an executable file in the "Options" menu.

If you want faster saving and loading you can consider installing 7-zip[www.7-zip.org] file archiver (if you do not use the default installation path, be sure to specify the path to the program in the settings file or add it to the PATH environment variable).

for the life of me I cant get this to work

downloaded exe, ran from download folder, DIRs all line up.

I have to manually close/open Noita, and I can see it making save files in a zip, but they never load. Quick save or 'manual save'.

Feel like I'm missing a step.

Okay. After some further investigating, I found 24 instances of NoitaSaveScummer.exe running as background programs in my task manager. This was probably caused by my troubleshooting, because every time the scummer froze on "Waiting for Noita to close" I had to close it and reopen it, but I did that with the X button instead of task manager or something more absolute. It now appears to be working after I ended all 24 of those tasks, but wiping my save data and all that might've also contributed.
I'm not sure if this has more to do with my machine or your software, but it seems to work now. I hope this is helpful if there is something to debug for you; its entirely possible that its my fault though.

Alright I seem to have accidentally deleted the data that kept track of my spell and perk progress but kept my enemies progress? I think I'm too far gone; I'll uninstall noita and try again and get back to you T.T

it's called "noita.exe (32 bit)"
Worth noting, it was working fine for a while, then I think I was overusing it and asking noita to re-open too frequently and this caused some buggy behavior in-game, forgetting which wands I'd picked up and the like, which eventually resulted in noita being unresponsive. I force quit it and then the scummer stopped working (it works like 10% of the time but I can't figure out what makes it work or not). It's probably just an issue on my end where something in my saves is screwed up in general, but I don't have enough expertise to know what to delete from my noita folder to fix it.
So far I've avoided doing a complete save wipe because I don't want to lose the minor meta progression I have in the game (orbs, bosses, you get it).
If you think that would fix it, I'm willing to give it a shot now; I don't have much progress anyway. Still don't know how to actually do that and I'm afraid of further corrupting any game data.
Thanks for your help.

will have to look into it at a later date, kinda weird, what is the process of noita called in windows task manager > details?

idk if you're still active but I'm getting problems when I press the quicksave button, the program wil go "wait while noita is closing" but it never happens.

I can see this being perfect for long runs with lots of mods. Almost always crashes and I'm sick of losing out because of that. I would still restart if I die but restarting to a crash is dumb.

No, this is not a mod, this is a third-party application as far as noita is concerned. This just automatically closes and opens noita, backs up and loads save files. That is it.

does this count as using a mod?
