There are many ways to Assert Authority in Rust.
The simplest being pointing a gun at someone and basically making them your slave at gun point.
You can Also Assert your authority through a demonstration of your godlike abilities, such as:

• Being a Admin
  
• Hacking
  
• Giving them steam games

After you amass a large amount of followers it is time to use your power to do what else...

Before you can go convert the heathens you must create a symbol of your power. With your amassed army of folllowers you must construct a impenetrable fortress that will be just an extension of your overall power.

A full metal building with a multitude of defenses shall suffice.


After this you must arm your followers with the most powerful of weapons. Both of which end in 4

M4 and C4

With these powerful weapons your followers can scour the server on their unending crusade to convert the godless heathens of Rust to follow you and amass your wealth.

After all these requirements have been met and your power has reached unimaginable proportions. You must make sure your power shall be kept. You must create a Dynasty!

First you must have a group of die hard followers that will follow you to the ends of the earth.
Basically do what the North Koreans do and you should be on the right track.


After you have this group of people that will make sure your empire shall continue after your death you must find a heir. It probably won't matter who at this point because the people will follow you so much if you appoint ANYONE that person HAS to be good.

If your followers start getting TOO powerfull and TOO educated and start questioning your ideology at ALL you must immediately make sure they don't figure out you are not actually the center of the universe which shall lead to revolt. Ways to do this include...

• Focus more on work and not learning.
  
• Only have a loyal group of followers handle weapons.
  
• Use that fortress you created as a Prison for your followers.
  
• Keep them in a constant state of poverty.
  
• No freedom of speech.
  
• Constant 24/7 Surveillance of your followers.
  
• Five minute hates every other day.

Follow these rules and everything should stick to plan.
