I love surviv. Unfortunately, it is plagued by many hackers. You WILL encounter them after a few games. Unfortunately, the developers are very slow on combating these hackers. There are ways for you to combat them. I have developed some tactics through trial and error. I will tell you how.

Who am I? These are my stats.

I play way too much.

Hackers will have at at least one of these following characters:

• Insane accuracy - Their accuracy makes no sense.
  
• Lock on sights - their sights will be 100% locked on to you no matter how erratic your movement. Their gun may even "vibrate" with infinite minor adjustments on their aim per nanosecond.
  
• Lock on melee - In melee combat, they will chop away with zero waste of time. No matter how you move, you cannot escape their chopping.
  
• Immediately heal out of combat - The nanosecond that they are out of combat, they will start using healing. Non-hackers will wait at least a second or two out of combat before healing.
  
• Fidget Spinners - (Now rare) They spin in a circle rapidly for some reason.

Putting it all together, a hacker may do the following:
Accurately hit you with a mosin from 8x distance with one shot. You notice that their aim is 100% locked on to you. You get closer with your katana. They start chopping away with their katana. You try to get away, but you literally cannot shake them off. You die. The split instant you die, without any delay, the hacker starts healing.

Before you engage a hacker, you must identify the hacker, use anti-hacker tactics, and be fully prepared with weapons and meds.

Their lock on relies on you moving in a consistent manner such as a straight line. I found that just tapping WASD like a madman messes up their lock-on, thus giving you a fighting chance. You can even time it so you tap faster on their next shot. They generally have two Mosins, a high damage, slow sniper rifle.

I do not recommend using weapons that slow you down as you fire such as machine guns. You will easily get targeted.

Hackers have insane accuracy at this range so it's not recommended to engage them UNLESS you have high damage per second (DPS) weapons.

Close range High DPS weapons are, in order of least to most effectiveness
Uzi - High rate of fire but wild accuracy. Great in very close range.
Vector - Very high rate of fire and accurate. Easy to miss a lot of shots and completely run out of bullets with prolonged combat.
Dual Revolver - Easy to miss a lot of shots
Dual Shotgun - Excellent for killing or softening the hacker. I generally always carry this so I can have a chance of surviving a hacker encounter.
Saiga - Even better than the dual shogun even at a bit of a distance. One of the best weapons in the game.
AWM-S - Generally 1-shot kill.
USAS-12, explosive shotgun - You can shoot around corners and explosively damage enemies. Always keep around a corner. The best close range weapon in the game.

I like to fire behind cover or inside of a building.

Once you soften up the hacker, close in and use your melee since your close range weapons will be completely worthless if the hacker is up in your face. You cannot deal bullet damage if the hacker is on top of you. Your bullets start from the end of your barrel.

When you engage in melee, just move in a straight line and attack. You don't want to move erratically like you would with normal people because these hackers are always locked on.

This is the melee tier from worst to greatest:
Fists - You're going to die if you fight with these
Machete - Not bad
Katana - Good Chance
Sledgehammer/Pan - Highest Damage, best chance.

Once the hacker is adequately softened, they may try to run, in which case, chase and kill them.


Using grenades
Grenades are excellent as long as they don't see you using them. If they do, they will simply move out of range. Left-click and start counting at 1 and throw at the 3.5 second mark. They will explode 4 - 6 second mark. You can actually go behind a tree, face the tree (so your hands are in the tree and the grenade is hidden, thus hiding your intentions), and then pull the pin. You will have a good chance of killing them or dealing high damage. Or you can go inside of a building and prime a grenade from within.

You can even use this "hand in tree" trick with a dual shotgun, wait for the hacker to come closer, and them blast them. But be careful, they might have a dual shotgun too!

If they are behind cover, throw a grenade or mine to the right of the cover and immediately flank left. Be quick and don't allow them to heal. Often times, these hackers will NEVER run away unless they are extremely weak.

Using mines
Set mines in non-obvious places. Next to trees, in bushes, under tables, on top of items. I would wait until the circle is smaller until placing the mines. You don't want to waste them. You have to place them before people get there so it's not obvious. Also, don't draw fire near the mines. If you shoot the mines, they will explode and be wasted. Also, be mindful of where you place your mines. You may accidentally trip your own mines.

Care package Cover
The care package, when unboxed and still in its metal shell, is invincible. Pressing "Use" or hitting it with melee will open it and make it easy to destroy.

Always pilled up
Be sure to always be soda'd and pill'd up to the max when you are Top 10 - 15. You may need to chase these hackers.

Use others
There is strength in numbers. If a hacker is being engaged with someone else, shoot the hacker. Or if they're not engaged, you can run away, and stall until there is another person. You can even fire bullets around you, to entice people to come in. The new stranger can be used as bait while you engage the hacker.

So these are some of the tactics I use to kill hackers. You still have a high chance of losing, but it's not 100%. In fact, I think it's humiliating and embarrassing to hack and have such a high, unfair advantage and still lose! Absolute incompetence! SAD!

Be sure to REPORT the hacker if you can. You cannot report anonymous players. To report, spectate the player and click the big red report button.

My encounter with hackers reminds me of speech from this game, Knights of the Old Republic. If you haven't played it, I highly recommend KOTOR 1.
