Rimsec Security

In Rimsec Security you can acquire new security systems by Saturn Robotics Systems (SRS) through their occasional visits via trade ship which is the only way you can acquire any SRS product. Saturn Robotics Systems offers 3 unique combat robots that are used to ensure that your colony is safe from any threat and are suitable for base defence and pre-emptive strikes. In addition to this there are 3 turrets to help fortify your base to ensure that your colonists are protected at all times. Lastly, there is 2 new structures and resources to help you with developing and maintaining your newly acquired robots.

Note that we plan on updating this mod in the future with new artwork and different robots.

Q: Can I add this to an existing save?
A: Yes

Q: Why does my via dev tools spawned robot have weird traits?
A: Spawning robots won't apply the correct traits, hediffs and usual settings. If you wish to spawn robots do it via the mod settings.

Q: I have too many robots in the colonists bar what do I do?
A: You can hide them in the mod settings.

Q: Are the robots SOS compatible?
A: Yes

Q: Is Rimsec Security compatible with Combat Extended?
A: As of January 1, 2021 Rimsec Security is compatible with Combat Extended and will be available in their next release. If you cannot wait for it you can go and take the changes from the pull request from Combat Extended's GitHub.

Q: Why does my robot stand still?
A: Because they can't find an available maintenance station, as the robots will occupy any vacant maintenance station.

Q: Why does my robot always stay at the maintenance station
A: Because they are on standby and are awaiting for you to draft them for combat.

Q: Is this mod compatible with Guards For Me?
A: Yes

Q: Can my robots wear armour or any clothing?
A: No, they're combat robots and they already have sufficient armour. You don't see droids from Star Wars wearing clothing do you?

Q: How do I get started with this mod?
A: You need to have a comms console in order to acquire any SRS robots, and when purchasing robots they will need a maintenance station (if you really like to have more robots than stations you could cycle them out - I advise against it though). When your first SRS ship arrives you can purchase a variety of robots, materials and the crafting station. If you purchase a robot you will need to have a maintenance station which costs 1 SRS processing chip. They are obtained only through the trade ship and by breaking down any SRS related structure or robot.

Q: New textures? Where are they?
Currently a work in progress and won't be available for quite sometime.

Q: Where is the update?! I love this mod and I can’t live without it!!!
A: We appreciate that you love this mod but given certain circumstances this mod will be on hiatus indefinitely until further notice.

Personally, I am no longer dedicated or interested in RimWorld modding. I will be pursuing other interests :)
