Ways to Get Extra EXP
You need to go into Settings > Controls > Controller and change Lock-On Modes for both [On Foot] / [Mount / Vehicle] to Free Aim

You can also get additional 5 exp per kill if you use any non standard ammo
Another 5 if you kill something in Dead Eye
5 for Hatshots (shooting off hats)
And 5 for shooting with "eyes closed" i.e. Hipfire - no scope/ no aim
Lovely game
RDO in itself is a great game. If you like winning (possibly in PvP) or grinding i.e restocking the trader, moonshiner to sell different moonshine, you enjoy collecting, doing various daily challenges, have fun with horses, or you enjoy showing off your abilities as bounty hunter, or even like tracking animals as naturalist. Over time you may accumulate a lot of wealth and despite occasional cheaters and connection issues, it is a really really amazing experience.

Please, have fun and enjoy and be well!

lol i cant hit the broad side of a barn with a bullet in free aim, then again using a controller probably doesnt help. the keybinds are klunky. :D

I figured out the issue; my graphics settings had my video memory "over the limit" (game is near 100% stable) so it wouldn't save any of the other settings outside of graphics settings. Makes absolutely no sense, but okay.

Sorry, no idea how to do it, but there should be. You need to use google to research

Is there a way to manually change controller settings in the game files? I've tried every method of switching from normal to free aim through the in-game and story menu settings, yet it won't save them. I don't own the standard game which is probably the issue.
