set the ratio to auto the in game cinimatics should work and i turned off amd fedility off the prerendered cutscenes will have bars though

Warning, this does NOT work any longer!

You'll just squish your cut scene resolution and STILL have the bars on the side.

I found a workaround to get ultrawide cutscenes back with DLSS Quality mode on guys (I am running a 3090 though so have the performance headroom).

See my post on the Nexus Mods forum.

He accidentally turned off his DLSS whist also changing the resolution back and forth.
See his same post and responses from Nexus mods website ... so still no ultrawide cinematics fix if you have DLSS on .. unless you run DLSS at Ultra performance or Performance.

@Frezzno

Is it with or without FSR / DLSS ?
Frezzno 21 Dec, 2021 @ 4:32pm
I don't know what happened? I used the patch from PCGamingWiki, and it worked? First it didn't. Then I changed resolution to something else and back and it somehow works! Now I'm happy.

It doesn't work with 1.11.1 anymore. I'm on 3840x1080 32:9. No matter the settings I always get blurred sides with squished scenes.

Oh, you are a real star...

... Unfortunately that didn't work either. Well it was worth a try I guess. Really no idea what is going on there, as the standard fix works in some instances but not the other, like DLSS in Quality is broken, however I had no issues with it in the Rise of the Tomb Raider, hell I even used DSR along DLSS and it all worked great - there must be something else going on with Horizon.

So yea... Standard fix (as per guide) works well at 3440x1440 on native resolution or Ultra Quality FSR. Just remember to use "Auto" aspect ratio in the settings, otherwise it will not work and you will get pillarboxed squished image.

Thanks, I tested it, but unfortunately it doesn't work :(
It was a shot in the dark, as I had no issues using the standard value for other DLSS titles (Rise of the Tomb Raider).

Anyway, I am in a good position to be able to use native res, although I would prefer Quality DLSS for them extra frames.Other than that, the Ultra Quality FSR worked for me as well.

The only other thing I can think of is that I heard somewhere that Quality DLSS would upscale to 3438x1440 rather than 3440x1440 (something to do with the rounding), so maybe a hex value for that would work? Just a guess as I don't know much about coding.
