This guide describes how to unlock all the acheivements with minimal effort. You will not find instructions or tactics on how to play chess, though this guide assumes you have a basic understanding of the rules. If you are new to chess, I highly recommend you play the tutorial first to at least understand how each piece moves.

This guide makes heavy use of standard algebraic notation[en.wikipedia.org]. The gist of it is as follows:

1. A prefix to describe the piece that was moved:
   
   • K for king
     
   • Q for queen
     
   • R for rook
     
   • B for bishop
     
   • N for knight
     
   • no prefix for pawn
2. An x if a piece was captured
   
3. Grid coordinates describing where the piece landed:
   
   • a to h from left to right (white at the bottom)
     
   • 1 to 8 from white side to black side
4. A + or # if the move was check or checkmate

There are two moves per line, white is always the left set as white always moves first.

I have put these first as they require the most organisation.
These must be done with other Steam accounts, minimum 4 accounts to create a tournament and 32 for 🏆 Tournament Champion. The game features asynchronous multiplayer so not all players (or alts, if needed) need to be online at the same time.

Ideally, the tournament organiser will create a tournament with 4 or 32 players (depending on the achievement), add everyone to the tournament and everyone (besides the designated winner) will delete the tournament from their game (and thus resign). Repeat for everyone who wants to win.

These achievements don't really fall into any category, or more than one category.

Self-explanatory and probably impossible to miss. Just do random stuff against a Novice AI or a friend if you're still missing this by the end.

Combine this with any game boosted with a friend or against the AI. The achievement will unlock on checkmate. Refer to Fool's Mate and Scholar's Mate achievements for fastest wins for either side.

This section describes achievements that are easily done by yourself.

There's no set answer for the three Blunder levels, so you can use another chess AI if you're having difficulty:

The lichess AI will play as white and you can copy its moves into Chess Ultra and visa versa. When I did it, the Level 8 lichess AI had no trouble winning.

Input lichess.org's White moves into Chess Ultra as your own moves and Chess Ultra's moves into lichess.org. Continue until one side wins. I recommend flipping the board on lichess (🔄 button) so it's easier to mirror the moves. Lichess has no trouble winning against the Grandmaster opponent for me.

While all these achievements may be possible against the AI, I highly recommend boosting them with a friend to make your life easier. You can't choose your side in online games, so you'll have to keep making games until you get the side you need. While most of these are possible with both sides, I'm too lazy to write instructions for both sides.

I should also mention these 2 player strategies don't work in local multiplayer, they need to be against an online opponent.
