How to fix crashes (Nvidia only)

Other guides i saw around don't work. Created this one, which works. For nvidia cards only.

Long story short

In order to stop the game from crashing all the time, you need to install a specific driver version for your Nvidia graphics card.

The driver version is 446.14 and you can find it on the official Nvidia website:

DESKTOP VERSION (for normal computers):
www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/160010/

NOTEBOOK VERSION (for portable computers):
www.nvidia.com/en-gb/drivers/results/160022/

After Downloading

Install the driver by opening the file and set it up as you would for any other normal program. It will automatically replace the driver with the version 446.14, after the install is complete you will have to reboot your computer for the driver to install completely

After the Reboot

After the reboot I suggest to check your driver version to see if the driver has installed correctly.

To do this, right click on the Nvidia black/green icon in the bottom right part of your screen, near the time of day (where all the other icons are), and open the Nvidia Control Panel. After that, click on the bottom left icon inside the panel which says "System information", a window will open with various info, the first info in the right column will be "Driver Version" - that should be 446.14.

If the method above doesn't work... try this:

If 446.14 does NOT work for whatever reason, instead try to install Driver version 457.51.
If also 457.51 doesn't work, try the latest drivers available for your card.

A note about Automatic Driver Updates, read this.

Depending on your PC settings, windows update could update your drivers in certain cases or make older drivers incompatible. Also Nvidia GeForce Experience could update them if you have enabled automatic updates. I suggest you to check both of these programs and see what your settings are.

Nope it is the game, even the game devs said so. This game even has issues on the original system it was made for. But when this game does work, this game is a masterpiece. Never blame the user that is just trying to start trouble...

MissKombucha, yea this is false tip because it doesn't work and is not the cause of the crashing. The game has issues since day one even on the consoles.

Dust, how did you lost all your data? Your game saves shouldn't be deleted when you uninstall the game.
