yes, i 100% agree with you, the chopper and NPCs will stay in the area of the car. The experiences I've had, have never involved them attacking the car directly. Maybe they do on the first wave, i can't confirm that and I'm not disputing that. At the end of the day, I guess its better to behave more cautiously though regardless. Just so long as you make money at the end of the day, that's what counts. Good day.

You can also clearly see this behavior whenever you need to steal a car from a ship: if you drop the car on the beach and then move away from it (I usually grab a Buzzard and hover somewhat further away) then you'll notice that the spawning choppers will always seek out the car first and only after they've reached it will they come after you. Which you can use to your advantage: keep your distance and the choppers wil keep hovering near the car which can make them easy targets for a missile attack.
