Please, keep in mind that this guide is still a work in progress! We still work on it! We value your feedback over everything! Please, keep that in mind and enjoy!

Remember to follow me for more guides!
This guide will not be covering basic setup class actions such as:
• Building buildings as engineer,
• Seting up stickybombs as demoman,
• Building up ÜberCharge as medic,
etc.
"Setup time, commonly Setup, is the interval where the round has begun but the game clock has not started and certain gates are closed and locked, restricting contact between the teams." -TF2Wiki

Setup time is commonly used by classes such as medic, engie or demoman to get ready and set up. But a lot of classes do not really have much to do during setup. If you are bored during setup, this guide should help you!

This guide has 4 main sections:
  • Universal things to do
  • Defense exclusive things to do
  • Things not to do
  • Setup items

Enjoy, and we hope that you learn something new!
1)Communicate

Communicate with your team! From asking that medic for overheal, singing the pootis song or asking the 6th sniper to change class, everything helps! (Maybe singing the pootis song does not)

2) Practice your movement

A common practice for advanced players is b-hopping, or just warming up your fingers to dodge those bullets the best you can!

3) Practice your aim

Pick a target and try to hit it as precisely as you can! This is a good practice for snipers, who like to warm up before they start popping those heads!

4) Spray

Unfortunately, sprays do not work on official Valve servers. However, if you play casual tf2 on a community server, you can spray a spray of your choice during setup to carry an important message out! Fun fact, every spray that you ever see on a community server is saved in your computer files! Yes that means that that furry porn that you've seen the other day is on your computer!

Since a lot of you asked, to delete all the furry sprays all you have to do is :

Go to: Your Computer>Local Disc>Progam Archive(86x)>Steam>steamapps>common>Team Fortress 2>tf>materials>temp

Once you are there, the files are the sprays that you downloaded. You can delete all of them.

5) Sandvich throw

Practice the very usefull skill of being handy at chucking sandviches! Pick a target and practice it! Of course, you can do this with a snack of your choice, like the Fish Cake, Chocolate, Steak or the Banana! However, I would not recommend throwing the Robo-Sandvich, it is very easy to hurt someone with it. I am talking from experience (;

6) Make that F2P's day

Do you remember, all the way back when you where just a new F2P, how that amazing player with the mazing offered you the partner taunt? I sure as hell do! So walk infront of him and make his day! Just keep in mind that all of us where F2P's at some point.

7) Confuse the enemy

If you are playing as the spy, do not forget to disguise as one of your teammates! Firstly, the enemy will not be paranoid because they will not know that there is a spy around but you can make them a little scared for exaple by disguising as a demoman on defence or sniper on attack!
1) Switch to engie

You can help the other engie incredibly by, for example, upgrading his teleporter during the setup! You can switch before the round starts and use the teleport to get to the front line!

2) Sacrifice yourself!

If there is a desperate engineer nearby, strugling with building these buildings, feel free to hit that kill bind near him. Why? If you did not know yet, you drop a medium ammo pack on death, which will help the engie out with the hard job! This is a less effective version of number 1 but it still helps.

3) Crit stickies

If a medic is willing up to team up with you, he can grab a kritzkrieg and help you set up a bunch of crit stickies before the round starts! I really recommend using the scotish resistance 4 this, since it has more available stickies and you can spam faster with it, plus you can detonate them separately!

"Additionally, the weapon is able to fire bombs at a faster rate, and can deploy six additional bombs for a total of 14 out at any time." -TF2Wiki
1) Advertising trades

If you're not on a trade server do not do this. I have seen way to many traders accidentaly or intentionaly hit their trade bind and get kicked within the next 20 seconds...

2) Pan the living ♥♥♥♥ out of everything

I know that it may seem really fun the first time, but the 100th time that you hear pan.vbsp makes your head hurt quite a bit to say the least. If you will not get kicked for this, your team sure will not love you for it. So if you do do this, do not expect a medic behind you in the field (;

3) Take the engies ammo packs

During setup, engies are in dire need of these ammo packs, since the buildings require a lot of metal to be built, and taking his ammo packs to get 2 more bullets is a truly selfish thing to do.
A ♥♥♥♥ load lot of items are useful in setup, therefore, here's a little list of some setup items!

1) The Kritzkrieg

The kritzkrieg is a perfect example of a useful setup item! Get your Über to a hundred percent and coordinate with your demoman to set up crit stickies, as you could read earlier!

2) The Eureka Effect

The Eureka Effect is one of the best setup items ever! By building your teleporters with The Eureka Effect you save 25 metal on teleporters and upgrading those teleporters only cost half the metal! Fellow engineers can upgrade your teleporters for half of the metal! That means 1 engineer can upgrade your teleporter with 4 wrench hits (excluding putting the teleporter down) without going to restock!

3) The Jag
The jag is a very usefull wrench, since you can build and upgrade the buildings much faster, due to the faster swing speed and other useful stats!

"This weapon has 15% faster attack speed and speeds up the consruction of any buildings" -TF2Wiki

4) The Scottish Resistance

The Scottish Resistance is a very good stickybomb launcher for defence, since you can control several different gates at the same time and set up more traps during the setup!

have put my everything in this guide and I hope that it will help you fight hackers the next tine you encounter them! Please remember to follow me so you know the next time I release a guide, as you can see below!

@balls in mcdondald deep frire \ Yes, but it would take time. If a dispenser is going up at the front lines and he's also upgrading a sentry a little behind it, it would take four trips to spawn and back, minus dispenser bonuses or teleporter costs.

In the universal section, on number 7 there is a spelling error. You wrote "exaple" and it should be "example". I'm just pointing it out, people make mistakes sometimes.

To delete all the NSFW Furry sprays all you have to do is :

Go to your Computer>Local Disc>Progam Archive(86x)>Steam>steamapps>common>Team Fortress 2>tf>materials>temp

and erase the existence of everthing that is in the temp pasta

because this is where all the sprays you see in those servers are
