Enable PS4 prompts

Just a quick way I found to get PS4 button commands to show rather than the default Xbox ones. This does require modifying files, so proceed with caution.

  • PS4 controller setup with Steam (I haven't tested with DS4Win)
  • Game installed
  • File extensions showing
Guide
  1. Navigate to were the game is installed (.../steamapps/common/Super Neptunia RPG/), then enter the directory "SuperNeptuniaRPG_Data", then "StreamingAssets"
  2. Backup the files "platform.ps4" through "platform.switch.manifest" (should be 10 files in total) to safe location on your PC
  3. Delete "platform.steam" and "platform.steam.manifest"
  4. Rename "platform.ps4asia" to "platform.steam"
  5. Rename "platform.ps4asia.manifest" to "platform.steam.manifest"
  6. Copy the original "platform.ps4asia" and "platform.ps4asia.manifest" from the backup and paste so no files are missing
Observation/oddities
I first tired the non-Asia PS4 files, but the Circle and X buttons were revered, but that may be due to my PC's configuration
The game will show to use the Touchpad for the Map in the Pause Menu, but the Map actually opens with the Share button
This method should technically work for the Switch Pro controller too, substituting the PS4 files for Switch ones, but I have not tested to confirm this

Thank I'm interested to see if this works for other games to. Because I know many have the ps4 enabled. The problem with bluetooth connection. I've had some mods. I've even seen valve has a feature lets you see what controller is supported and I've had ps4 show up but because steam is enabled it chooses that.

Usually if a game has the ps4 prompts in the files you can disable the steam activation of the control for the specific game and it works like ps4. I did this for fate extella and Ni no kuni 2
