Purpose
If you own Starbound and are interested in the Grand Prix summer sale event, you might have noticed there's Grand Prix Quests available for the owners of this game.

Particularly, there's a quest objective that reads "Drink a Soda", worth 10 points.

This game is easily exploitable, and you can earn free points by doing basically nothing.

I'm writing this since I have experince with this game and I read around that people are using a mod to accomplish this, but it's actually not necessary.

So, in case you're extra lazy or don't like the thought of modding for whatever reason, here's the faster way to do it.
How
  • Start the game.
  • Start playing in a single player game, or a multiplayer game where you are the host/admin.
  • Type
    /admin
  • Make sure the system message says that you have been given admin privileges, and not that they have been taken. If they have been taken away, just type /admin again.
  • Type:
    /spawnitem soda 9999 '{"maxStack":9999}'
A soda will spawn wherever your cursor was.
  • Drink the Soda to earn 10 points in the Steam Summer Sale.
  • To repeat this easily, in case you run out of Sodas, just press Up while in the textbox and then enter, the command will be repeated.
  • Alternatively, just change the number after soda and the one after "maxStack": to something higher, there's probably not a real limit: I just put 9999 to be safe.
Q&A
Can I do this on a new character?
Yes. Make sure to tick "skip intro", though I think it works in the intro too. Can't remember if the textbox is available there right now.

What's better, this or the mod?
They're both fast, but this you can do right away by just CTRL+C/CTRL+Ving what I put there.

It's not working...?
The Grand Prix event sucks and is both confusing and, apparently, broken in some ways. Don't post questions or complaints about that here.

No, I mean it: the objective isn't there anymore.
That happened to me, but not to others. I thought it was a fix, but since some say it still works, I guess it still works.

Do I get VAC banned if I do this?
Lol no.

How could this happen?
I've been a huge supporter of this game for a long time, then a hater, then an exploiter of its brokenness as a hobby. I know it pretty well (not that you need that to learn about /admin commands) and am honestly not surprised to see this game's popularity resurface in such stupid circumstances, as this game is always the butt of the joke in conversations with my friends nowdays.

Nothing wrong with liking it, of course.
