Introduction
The Spy is, in my opinion, one of the hardest classes to play but when mastered is a master of destruction. I wouldn't reccomend that you play Spy immediatley after you start playing TF2, read this guide and read other people's guides practice, practice and practice till you are good enough to play it in multiplayer games. The sad thing is people always like going sniper or spy and there are usually 4 snipers or 4 spies on one team that is too much. So please don't spam this class when you are in multiplayer games unless you're 100% confident that your team is good and doesn't need any other class at the moment and that you are confident that you are a good enough spy.
Trickstabs
Trickstabs are a form of doing backstabs in a way that you leave your opponent screaming "HOW DA HELL DID HE JUST KILL ME QQQQQQ" and not only do you leave them raging, you do it in STYLE. Some trickstabs are easy some aren't, I haven't been able to do a lot of trickstabs and i've struggled with them at the beginning but really when I did it they were quite life savers. So let's get to the task at hand

Trickstabs:

The Cornerstab - One of the easiest trickstabs to do, you simply make your enemy follow you behind your corner and you have to expect when he comes in through that corner and you go back and left you see his back right now and you go for the backstab. This is an easy trickstab, The only hard part is timing and expecting when your opponent would go through the corner. Other than that its quite easy.
The Stairstab - This is a normal diffculty trickstab there are 2 ways of doing this, You can go through the stairs and make your opponent follow you and then while not facing your opponent crouch jump to the back and backstab him before you go down. The other way is looking at your opponent till you climb the stairs, crouch jump and then rotate your camera 180 degrees and backstab him. I honestly prefer the first one
The metador stab - One of the hardest stabs in the trickstabs this is direct confrontation where you trick your enemy to go to the left while you go to the right and backstab him, I honestly reccomend you don't try this when you start out since its quite diffcult to master and even execute. Watch some videos on youtube regarding this particular trickstab
The quick stab - My favorite trickstab of them all and its the easiest one, You while disguised will run to an enemy but to his right or left when you both are adjacent to each other turn 90 degrees or 180 and backstab him, This is one of my favorites quite easy to do.
The drop stab - Easy trickstab to execute, you drop from a high place/ledge and land right behind your target and backstab him before you hit the ground.
The jump stab - similiar to the drop stab but you instead jump instead of dropping onto your enemy directly.

I reccomend watching videos on Youtube for all of these trickstabs notably the Stair stab and the Metador Stab.
Loadout
Here we are, the ins and outs of your revolvers, guns, sappers and the magnifcent invisblity watches
Let's start with the Pistols.
Pistols:

[/b]The Stock Revolver.

It's a good all around weapon I reccomend using this weapon when you're just starting out and haven't yet decided a certain playstyle. It has 6 bullets in one round and does good damage.

[/b] The Ambassdor

If you have a VERY good aim and can react VERY fast to enemies then this pistol is for you, This pistol has a guranteed critical hit if the hit is a headshot, This pistol saved me from Pyros that used the "The Degreaser + Reserve Shooter" Combo, because I would land a headshot while I am flying and a couple body shots while I have landed. This isn't reccomended for begineer players since its quite hard to use but by all means if you have a pretty decent aim and very fast reactions then use this pistol

[/b] The Enforcer

I honestly use this pistol because of the +20% damage while undisguised since I use the ETernal Reward this is quite a good weapon for me it won't be great for other people that have different playstyles than mine its decently good honestly if you use the Eternal Reward or Wanga Prick.

[/b] The Diamondback

This is by far the worest pistol I've ever seen ofcourse it gives you a guranteed crit for every building sapped you would need to have a lot of engis on the other team for this to be useful. I see it as the reverse Frontier Justice.

[/b] The L'Etranger

I'd reccomend using this if you use energy hungry invisiblity watches like the Cloak and Dagger and The Dead Ringer.

Knives:

[/b] The Stock Knife.

I often use this knife because its quite good no downsides or ups. I reccomend using this early on when you haven't decided your playstyle yet.

[/b] The Eternal Reward/Wanga Prick

I use the Eternal Reward its downside is because you cannot disguise at all you get your disguise through backstabbing people.

[/b] The Spy-cicle

I used to use this primarily because of enemy pyros. While disguised if an enemy pyro sets you on fire while you are wielding this, you become immune to fire for 2 seconds the downside is it emits a VERY loud sound when it gets melted and the pyro melts your knife when you get the 2 second immunity to fire.

[/b] The Coniver's Kunai

This isn't an easy to use knife because you start out with very low hp tho its reward is consuming your victim's hp. I wouldn't reccomend using this for begineers.

[/b] The Big Earner

Same like L'Etranger I reccomend using it if you use a energy hungry invisiblity watch like the Cloak And Dagger or the Dead Ringer.

[/b] The invisiblity watches:

[/b] The Stock invisiblity watch.

This watch gives you the most time to travel around 9.8 seconds I THINK.You can refill it through ammo boxes, so if you know a map pretty well you could stay invisible for a lot of time. I reccomend it over each and every other watch.

[/b] The Cloak And Dagger.

The unique thing about this watch is that you can recharge it while standing still and being cloaked. It consumes a lot of energy so it isn't for a spy that travels a lot its for a camping spy. Downsides is that it consumes a lot of energy and you cannot refill its energy from ammo boxes.

[/b] The Dead Ringer.

A lot of people hate spies for using this watch, since it activates when you get any type of damage that being fall damage/fire/explosive/bullet damage. If you get shot during being cloaked with this watch you won't get seen you are also immune to any type of damage for 6.8 seconds. Not reccomended for use.
Tips on Disguises.
NEVER and I mean NEVER disguise as a scout/medic. For two reasons:
1- You aren't as fast as both of them so experienced players will see through your disguise.
2- As a Medic you're expected to be healing people and you won't be able to heal people so cover blown.

Reccomended Disguises:
[/b] Pyro - Though its one of the most spy checked classes if you're good enough you could fool them and get a backstab on the engi. If you're not planning to be behind enemy lines then be at the head of the spear with the heavies/soldiers/medics.

[/b] Engineer - Disguise as this ONLY if you're near an engineer's buildings, Sap the turret and backstab the engi and then sap everything else. Immediatley run away and cloak, choose another disguise then return to the enemy's lines.
[/b] Demoman - You're always expected to be setting up a trap/defending a position or on the assault. You'd have to be in the middle of the action or in the middle of the defense. One of my favorites.

[/b] Soldier - The speed reduction is quite bad but its a convincing class if played correctly.

[/b] Heavy - If you disguise as this class it'll be near impossible to get a backstab I reccomend disgiusing as this if you're planning on fooling an enemy medic to waste his Uber on you not reccomended to do what I just said since it's quite hard.

[/b] Spy - Interesting Disguise not easy to convince players but still easy to use. As an Enemy spy you're EXPECTED to be with the other team and attempign to get a backstab ON THEM. It isn't easy pretending that you're plotting to backstab your own Uber ready medic so I wouldn't reccomend using this much.

[/b] Sniper - Stay with the other team's snipers and CROUCH this is a great tip I learned, As a Sniper you're supposed to be scoped in and you cannot if you crouch it'll appear as if you're scoped in. This is a great tip I found.

[/b] Tips Section:

If someone fires at you or spy checks you pretend that you don't care and continue to where you were going either the enemy will continue firing till you die or he'll leave you.

If you are going to disguise as a Sniper then be where the other team's snipers is and backstab them, all and then leave.

If you reload your revolver it'll look and sound as if you're reloading the current weapon you're holding so i'd advise shooting one bullet before you disguise as a certain class.

You have to classify each and every person on the other team 5 classifcations, Green, Yellow, Red, Begineer or Experienced.

Green meaning they aren't alerted of your presence and aren't spychecking.
Yellow meaning they will spycheck often but not a lot.
Red means that they will spycheck everybody they see and they are on the utermost level of paranoia.
Begineer meaning that you don't know a lot of stuff about spy.
Experienced meaning that they know all the tricks the spy has up his sleeve and can stop certain trickstabs and know how to spy check quite good.
Practice,Practice,Practice and Practice!!!!
This is the end of the guide, I hope you've learned a lot about the spy/refreshed your memories about everybody's favorite spymaster. You'll have a lot of moments where you'll literally ragequit, and rageswitch but remember you need to keep practicing in order to be better I reccomend using "TR_walkway_r2" to practice stair stabs. Anyways farewell! :D
