Hi. I made a block long time ago that i use to make icons. It is just a white Large Cube for reducing shadows.

Most new computers come with 3dPaint. Once i learned how i can use 3d paint to make icons they started looking much better quality. Other people might have better methods but this is one i like to use.

ya the other way is to turn shadows off which is really not needed but if you need to make a really complex icon that would help also

I guess you need to add rounded shape, like inner quarter arc ◟, so when your blocks transition from floor to wall you will have no 90° angle and Ambient Occlusion will no generate shadows in corner. Additionally to that in some case it would be possible to create texture with shadows on it so like in this example (white at left, transparent at right) https://files.catbox.moe/2ul501.png
